Searching for Tomorrow by Kathryn McNeill Crane Blog Tour & Giveaway

Some people are blessed to find that one certain person who completes them.
Wrynn’s yesterdays were what others only dream of having. She and Tripp were the best of friends before they even thought about love. They had the fairy tale life where ‘like’ turns into ‘love’, and ‘love’ becomes ‘happily ever after’.
What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?
…only her forever love ended much too soon.
Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Wrynn boxes up her grief and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Wrynn relives her life with Tripp while struggling most days to get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.
How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?
Wrynn tries to find the joy in life every single day through her daughters, family, and friends. Her twin brother Liam has dedicated himself to helping Wrynn put her life back together after losing his own love. On the other hand, her mother-in-law lives to torment her at every turn. Wrynn can’t even find a chance to breathe, much less a desire to somehow search for her tomorrow.

*4 Stars*

“Each memory, every dream, carries me back to the very day that my soul seeks, yet pushes me to search for tomorrow.”

I read the blurb and I was ready, I knew I was in for emotional roller coaster.  But I was not expecting what I got.  This is a love story unlike any love story.  This is that fairy tale, soul mate, never to be replaced love story.  The once in a lifetime love.  So yes I was in for a big heart break and I knew it by Chapter 3.   I never wanted to make my heart not feel as much as I did reading a couple chapters in this book.

“I was sure that my eyes were swollen, my nose was red, and my cheeks puffy from all the tears I had shed.”

Okay so ….

“I mean, really, a few tears or sniffles are one thing, but you were sobbing.  I think you call it ‘ugly crying.”

Kathryn started this book like a journey, I actually could see myself.  But this journey was of a single mom who is trying to raise her three beautifully unique little girls.  All while she is stuck in the past, stuck with this reality that she never thought would come.  Stuck disbelieving what her life is.

“I’ve had the fairy tale life, where like turns into love, and love becomes happily ever after, only my forever love ended much too soon.  My one plus one should equal five, not four.”

This book was written in the present but took you back to the past to really explain this love story and how friendship became this move the world love story.  At times I thought the past made it alittle slow and I found myself desperately wanting to be in the present.  But I got it we needed the build up, we needed to grow in love with this couple.   I think what hurt me the most is that this is a story that happens daily.  There are women out there that live this life, all well their husbands fight for my freedom.

“September eleventh seemed to draw American citizens together.  Personal differences, political disparities, and even religious affiliations seemed to be put aside, and America once again truly seemed to be ‘one nation, under God, indivisible’.

“These very events were responsible for the fact that my Tripp had met with an Army recruiter.”

As the story goes we learn this along with other reasons Wrynn can’t move on.  It was also at this point I realized how strong she truly was as a character and how much I admired her strength, her love and her loyalty.  This was a woman who had lost her soul mate, her best friend and the father of her babies.  Yet she still had a smile for them and she dealt with maybe the most hateful mother in law I have even read in a book.  Seriously, I hated the woman.

“Hate?  I don’t hate you, child. I loathe you.”

That is true I did loathe her, from the bottom of my heart I loathed that woman.  But she also had one of the greatest supporters, her twin brother Liam.

“One thing I can say about Liam is that he is the sweetest, humblest, most sincere man any woman would be lucky to have.”

I adored this relationship because it was so similar to my relationship with my brother.  They are best friends, each others shoulder and I think he is the only reason Wrynn didn’t crumble.

In all this is a book I am so glad I was asked to review because its one I am not sure I would have jumped into.  The blurb depressed me.  Kathryn blindsided me a couple times, she made me mouth drop open, and she definitely got me to say LIKE HELL!!

But this leads me to why I gave it 4 stars instead of five since I LOVED IT so much!!  Well you see there was this problem with the ending I felt like it was rushed and I found it unbelievable in some ways.  I guess what I really need was more explaining in the epilogue.  I wanted it to be longer or even before the epilogue maybe another chapter.   I want to put so much more in this review but I also want you to read it and not let me spoil it.

“You’re my everything.  You’re the reason I breathe, the reason I live.  I can’t imagine my life without you.  I’ve loved you forever, and that love will never die.”

Honestly this is things that I think Disney makes movie about, this is the epic love, the one that gives you goosebumps.  I have to say it was amazing debut novel by Kathryn Crane and now I am hoping for Liam’s book.

If you are reading this, I think you should know that “About me” sounds so very pretentious to me. I guess that is what I am supposed to write about, so here it goes!
Kathryn is a simple country girl who likes to spend time with her hubba, hunka hubby, her three kids and her friends. She loves to cook and really loves to eat! During the spring and summer, you will more than likely find her outside puttering around in her garden. When the veggies start coming in, she will probably be sweating over a hot canner in the kitchen, canning all the goodies she is blessed with. Kathryn likes to hike and go camping, and as a Girl Scout leader, she gets to do this pretty often! On cold winter nights, you will probably find her wrapped in a warm blanket, lost in a good book, while sitting in her rocking chair on the front porch!
Kathryn was born and raised in North Carolina, and while she loves to travel, she can’t imagine ever leaving the mountains that she has come to call home. Not a day goes by that Kathryn doesn’t thank God for abundantly blessing her. He has been so good to her, and she is very grateful. She holds Jeremiah 29:11 very close to her heart and believes it with every fiber of her being. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Kathryn loves flip flops, chocolate, sweet tea and dirt between her toes. As far back as she can remember, she’s had a book in her hand. Reading has carried her to places she will never go. It has introduced her to people that she will never meet. When life is great and when it is rough, she’s always been able to find a book to carry her through. She finally decided to write down some of the stories in her head (yes, be scared) and heart after dawdling around and wasting years dreaming. She hopes you enjoy reading those stories as much as she loves writing them!

We weave in and out of a few side streets before we stop beside a black Harley motorcycle. Scanning the street, I’m still looking for his car when he removes two helmets from the storage compartments on either side of the bike. He replaces the helmets with our gear and then turns to me.

‘Where’s your car?’

‘It’s my dad’s. The bike’s mine, it’s easier to park down here when it gets this busy.’

‘Come here and let me put the helmet on you.’ He steps closer to me to meet me half way, and our bodies inadvertently brush together. His chest feels hard and muscled, evidence of a lot of exercise. He looks older than a seventeen year old, and I can see what the attraction would be for other girls – me included. It makes me absently wonder who the spare helmet was for. A ‘just-in-case’ or did it belong to an ex-girlfriend? I push those thoughts quickly from my head. There is no way I need the baggage of jealously along with all the other shit that goes on in my head.

‘Keep still.’ His breath tickles my face, the smell of barbeque sauce lingering on his breath. I know it sounds funny, but it makes me want to eat him. My eyes focus on his

mouth as he slides the helmet onto my head. His fingers work their magic with the chin strap and soon have the clasp done up. He’s momentarily frozen, eyes drinking me in, seemingly searching my soul for something. What, I don’t know. His fingers graze my cheeks before cupping my jaw, his thumbs rubbing lightly over my bottom lip.

I’m finding it hard just to breathe right now. We are all alone in the side street, shaded from the glaring sun by the apartment buildings. The world seems to continue to move on at its rapid pace behind us, and yet here, time is frozen. He bites his own lip and I start to plead silently to myself. Please kiss me, just this once. Just kiss me once and I will never ask for anything else! I know it’s a lie, but I can’t help myself. It appears that I too am impervious to his charms.

‘Don’t …’ he begs. I’m confused.

‘Don’t what?’ I barely get the words out.

‘Don’t look at me like that.’ His eyes are pleading with me, but I studiously ignore them.

‘Why not?’

‘Because if you don’t stop looking at me like that then I’m going to have to kiss you.’ It’s clearly a challenge, testing to see what my reaction will be. He’s being cautious with me, and I wonder if this is the way he usually behaves.

‘Well, I promise I won’t complain if you do.’ That’s a pretty bold statement, especially coming from me.

I don’t know what’s come over me. All I know is that when I’m with Tyler, I want to have fun. I want to be fun. His jaw clenches, I can see the muscle working hard as he bites his teeth together. I briefly wonder what his hesitation is, before he closes his eyes and leans in towards me.

Oh crap, this is it! He’s actually going to do it! I’m not ready, I’m not ready.

All thoughts escape me as he moves towards my lips. My nostrils fill with his scent; deodorant mingling with the salt from the ocean, tantalising my senses and surrendering me helpless.

His mouth gently closes over mine, breath hot as our lips fuse. My eyes close as I succumb to his kiss. There is nothing else on this planet, except for both of us, right here, right now. There is no eating disorder, no broken family, none of the unhappiness that has plagued me for years. All that exists is this blissful, tranquil moment – imprinting onto my young mind, cataloguing it for later when I want to remember my first, proper kiss.

My mouth parts as his tongue seeks to delve into mine. I grant him permission, letting him take the lead. Our lips move so easily with one another’s that it manipulates me into thinking that his mouth was made for mine. My brain argues with me how idiotic that sounds, but a girl with a crush will not be reasoned with.

When we finally break apart, we are both left breathless and stunned.

‘Wow,’ he says huskily.

You got that straight.

*5 Stars*

“We’re not broken just bent and we can learn to love again” – Pink

This was a really emotional read for me. The subject matter was tough to read at times and had me my heart completely breaking for the heroine in this story. An emotional roller coaster that had me going from one extreme to the other.  There were times I wanted to  wrap my arms around her to comfort her and let her know that things would be ok. Mackenzie’s story starts off where she is trying to make it though a new year at a completely new school Since her parents divorce, she has been battling anorexia which has spiraled out of control. . She’s determined to live in her misery and keep herself as invisible as possible.

“I blow my nose and then use toilet paper to clean the top of the toilet seat before flushing my shame down the drain. Washing my hands I glimpse myself in the mirror. I barely recognize the girl staring back at me.”

Tyler Redding is one of the school’s star football players who has a strong pull to Mackenzie.  He is completely attracted her and wants to help her any way he can but he doesn’t let on that he knows her secret.  After losing his sister to the same disease, all he wants is to be there for her and love her.

“She’s damaged. I can tell. Since the very first time I laid eyes on her, I knew what Vicious disease has it claws in her. I know, because my sister died of the fucking disease.”

“I don’t think she has any idea at all how much she actually affects me.”

“I want to know what makes her laugh, what makes her tick. What turns her on?”

This guy is completely swoon worthy, he’s so sweet, strong, sexy and patient. Nothing she does makes him waver, nothing scares him away and even when he is forced to move away he never lets go.

“I feel like you’re my destiny, you’re my everything.”

“Needing her in my life has become more then wanting to save her. I want her to get better, I really do. But illness or not- I just want her.”

I really loved the chemistry between these 2 characters, they truly were made for each other even though they have some really tough times, misunderstandings and tragedy. S. Pratt really did a great job showing us that even though life is messy, gut wrenchingly painful at times,  love can conquer all as long as we don’t give up.

“Don’t ever leave me ok cause if you do I think you might just take a bit of my soul with you.”

This is the first time I’ve ever read anything from this author and I am truly grateful I had the opportunity to. Really great book with tough subject matter. A must read!

“Fine. Bring me the damn suit,” I grumble begrudgingly.

“You’re the best! You know that?” Kara kisses me chastely. Her father is still there after all.

Bill laughs once Kara bolts up the stairs.

“Laugh now. Next thing you know she’ll make you be my elf!” I threaten good naturedly.

“I’d love to see that,” he says in between chuckles.

“Ah crap!” I pull my hands through my hair, seriously wanting to throw a child-sized temper tantrum at this turn of events.

“Think of it this way, son. It will be good practice for when you have kids. And you’re making those girls’ night.”

“Yeah… alright. I guess I can try to look on the bright side of things,” I concede. The last thing I need is for my soon to be father-in-law to think I’m a big baby.

Kara returns twenty minutes later with a giant red bag. I drag it into the bathroom and take my time changing. Part of me hopes that if I take too long the girls will fall asleep or something. Stranger things have happened.

“It’s Christmas Eve, Jacob. The girls won’t want to fall asleep regardless, so don’t think you can get out of this,” Kara calls through door.

How the hell does she do that? It’s worse than the eyes in the back of her head.

“I’ll be out in a minute,” I yell through the door.

After I velcro the giant pillow onto my belly, I turn to the side and stick my stomach out further, poking at my now enlarged gut. I roll my abdominal muscles making the pillow bounce and ripple. Chuckling at my nonsense, I step into the red, velvet pants. I pull the black suspenders over my shoulder and do a little jig watching as my stomach bounces around.

Apparently this suit sucks the seriousness out of you. Maybe it’s a magic suit…

I stop my musings and proceed to put the jacket on and button it up.

I look damn good in red. Even with a giant stomach.

Next comes the wig and beard, followed by the hat. Now I have absolutely no reason to walk out of this bathroom. Damn.

Opening the door, Kara is the first thing I see. Her face lights up and she graces me with a wide smile. She lifts her arm, and then she does the unthinkable when she snaps a picture with her cell phone.

“Lump of coal for you!” I shout and make like I’m going to attack her. When I lunge for her, she screeches and runs across the room.

Once I catch up with her, she reaches out and rubs red shit on my cheeks. “Really?” I ask not wanting to deal with this shit.

“You are so going to get lucky later,” she mumbles so only I can hear her.

“Damn straight. You owe me one creative session, Sunshine.”

“There is this new position I heard about that I’ve been curious to try.”

“It’s a good thing this suit is big, otherwise my sister would think Santa was a giant perv. What do you think you’re doing telling me that now?” I gripe, knowing my nieces can’t sit on my lap while I’m turned on.

“Sorry. I forget,” she says like that explains it all.

“You’re lucky I love you.” I kiss her forehead and start towards the stairs. “Let’s get this over with.”

“Please,” I cried, quickening my pace.

He worked me faster, and I froze and shook like I had a fever, letting the waves of rapture take me. I felt him jerking inside of me as I cam back down from the addictive high, his face arrested in his own gratifying release. I love to watch him come, and I held as I could, impaled on him, until his eyes opened, and he blinked up at me.

I folded down to lay against him, burying my face in the side of his neck, breathing him in.

He always smelled divine. Like home.

“I love you,” he rasped out. He said it all the time. He didn’t hold it back, now that he’d admitted it, but it still gave me butterflies, every single time.

“I love you,” I spoke softly to his ear.

He gripped me harder. I can’t ever lose you, Danika. I’m not sure I’d survive it.”

“You’ve got me. And I’m not going anywhere. Not ever.”

I meant the words when I said them, but life had other plans for me.

I was by nature, a fighter, and no one could say I didn’t fight for us.

I’d have given my life for that fight.

In fact, I very nearly did.

For Real by Chelsea M. Cameron Blog Tour & Giveaway

For Real
by Chelsea M. Cameron

Two people. One fake relationship. What could go wrong?

When virgin Shannon Travers gets fed up with her friends demanding that she find a boyfriend, she enlists the help of tattooed, mohawk-rocking graphic design student Jett. He’s more than happy to play along with their Fake Relationship, including the Ten Rules of Fake Dating that control-freak Shannon comes up with. Even if he likes to violate them. Repeatedly.

But what happens when Fake Dating starts to feel… not fake anymore? Will Shannon be willing to let go and embrace the first thing in her life that’s ever felt REAL?

“Wake up, princess,” a male voice I only sort-of recognize says in my ear. My eyes are slow to open and I’m staring right at a chest I don’t remember falling asleep on. I lift my chin and meet a set of gorgeous brown-gold eyes.

“Hey,” he says, his voice soft as I realize I’m lying on top of him. At some point during the movie, he’d shifted under me and brought both our sets of legs up on the couch and laid back, pulling me so we’re front to front. My boobs are completely squished into his chest, which is the first thing that makes me try to shift off him.

“Um, hey,” I say as I struggle to get off him, but there’s no place to put my hands, so I end up trying to roll and he tries to help me, but I end up tipping too far off the couch, banging the back of my head on the coffee table and landing on my side on the floor with a crash.

“Oh my gosh, are you okay?” Is he laughing?

“Ow,” I say. I’m awake now. There’s a sharp pain in my hip, and in my skull. Jett reaches down and hauls me up.

“You’re laughing at me,” I say as I feel the back of my head.

“No I’m not,” he says, while trying to contain his laughter.

“Asshole,” I say, but he’s still holding onto me.

“Where does it hurt?” he says, finally showing some concern.

“The back of my head and my hip banged on the floor. That’s gonna leave a mark.” He walks around me and tenderly moves my hair out of the way to look at my soon-to-be-bumpy head. I go all tingly again, and the pain fades just a little. This guy is better than Tylenol. And then I feel something warm right where the bump is and I swear her just kissed it.

“And your hip?” he says, his voice low.

Is it possible to die from anticipation? Because I think I just did. Jett crouches down and I swear I’m going to have a seizure if he does what I think he’s going to do.

And then he very carefully places the lightest of kisses on my hipbone and OH MY GOD I SWEAR I CAN FEEL HIS LIPS THROUGH MY JEANS AND I’M GOING TO DIE NOW.

“Sex is one of those things that’s a complete loss of control. You give yourself up, in your most vulnerable state, to another person, and they give themselves to you.”

Shannon is a 21 year old virgin and her friends can’t stand it. They want her to just go out there, pick a guy and bang him. Easy, right? Wrong!

“I don’t think I’m ready for that. For the…intimacy. I mentally gag on the word.”

“The truth is, boys were gross. Part of me is still semi-convinced they have cooties.”

So when Shannon runs into “laptop guy” aka Jett, the man she ran into earlier in the day at the bar, he becomes her saving grace. She ends up going home with him and lets her friends think she slept with him. After that, she decides to take the lying a step further and asks Jett to be in a fake relationship with her for a month. They come up with a list of rules they aren’t allowed to break (yeah right!) and once the month is up they will fake break up.

“It’s the perfect solution without actually dating someone and getting involved in all that.”

But we all know fake relationships can only last so long before they start to become real…

“What is supposed to be a kiss to seal our Fake Relationship feels…like the first real kiss I’ve ever had.”

“I can’t function without him. I just…don’t want to. I don’t know who I am anymore.”

For a 21 year old Shannon was really immature. She acted more like she was 12 not 21 which made it harder for me to relate to her. I’m honestly a little surprised this book is labeled under New Adult. Yes at some point there is a sex scene or two but this book definitely had more of a Young Adult feel to me. Had it been labeled Young Adult I think I would’ve been able to relate to this story more. Nonetheless, it was still a light, sweet read.

Not Enough by Leigh Ann Lunsford Cover Reveal

Brielle Parker has her life in front of her; she just does not know how to live it. After years of not being enough for her parents, or the dreams she once had, how did one man Colby James show her she was actually more than enough?

Raised by her grandparents with her three siblings, Brielle was loved, no doubt. However, her grandparents were taken too soon, and she was left with her older sibling to try to raise her younger ones. She couldn’t help but let the doubts take over her life. Would she ever be enough? Then Colby walked in and changed everything, and just when she was facing her fears and falling in love for the first time, Colby ripped her heart out.

Will they be able to get past their mistakes to live the life they both want? Did Colby finally break Brielle when all he wanted to do was protect and love her? You can rebound from some mistakes, but some you just have to learn from and walk away. The love they have is true and pure, but will they finally be enough for each other?

Genre: New Adult Romance

Ronnie McGuire is my target.

But I wish he wasn’t.

I didn’t sign up for this destruction, this pain.

In his music, I hear his soul crying out for me.

If I could, I’d run away from here and never look back because to tell you the truth, I’m terrified. There are forces weighing in on me that even I don’t understand. I’m scared. Things are dangerous. This could get real ugly, real fast.

& & &

Lola Saints is a godsend.

But I wish she wasn’t.

I don’t know sh*t about her, but already, I’m hooked.

When she plays, I can almost imagine the ghosts of the dead are calling out to me.

If I could, I’d shed my soul and leave the pain of the past behind me. But I can’t. I have to figure out if there’s a way to fall in love anew and respect the old. But something else is going on, something weird. Something that tells me my tough luck might just run out real fast.

*This is NOT the last book in the series. There will be later books featuring Turner and Naomi again, and they also appear in this volume quite a bit. 😉

“How am I suppose to get over the love of my life?  The person who touched my soul and made me realize what it was like to truly live?  They say move on, but that’s only because they don’t understand.  They can’t possibly.”

Every time I read C.M. Stunich I vow that she is my book crack dealer and that I can’t survive without her books.   Well BAM she just did it again and I am sitting here saying WHAT IN THE HELL!! Yep I am once again waiting for another book and thinking WHY!!!!!!  I will tell you why because her books are unlike any and they hook you and leaving you begging for the next.

Tough Luck picks up right after the events that took place in Get Bent, and yes this is the third book in the Hard Rock Roots series so I am happy to report we get some Turner and Naomi!!!   But what I was most excited about this was Ronnie’s story!!

Something about Ronnie McGuire makes me want to put on my big girl panties and kick some ass. I want to hold him in my arms and kiss away the ghosts I can see cutting through his heart.

Bless his horrid little heart, I think I’ve got a crush.

Yep I have a crush and from the moment I met this man I wanted to hold him. I felt his pain, I wanted to heal him.   I thought I liked him after meeting him in previous books but once I finished this one I had no doubts I was in love!  The growth I watched this man make was amazing and as painful and screwed up as his story is, it’s beautiful.

“I’m in love.  Head over heels.  I can’t get enough. I will never get enough.”

Ronnie was one of the more emotional characters CM has introduced us too.  The stuff she had him enduring was beyond what anyone in Ronnie’s situation should have to.  But I think that’s what kept me so involved in the story and kept me turning the pages.   I cried with him, I yelled at my kindle and then I wanted to have make up sex with him.  Dear god Ronnie might be the boyfriend of the month!!

“He your boyfriend?”

Lola was ok I only wanted to punch her once or twice so that’s a win.  Was she my favorite character no but I understood her.  And let me be honest it was Ronnie you can’t resist him!!!   Hell, I couldn’t resist him and their chemistry was explosive!!

Wow. Just wow.  Mind blowing sex, a smart mouth, and killer kit skills all warmed in a hot, little package.  Sounds like a dream come true.

So that’s it and once again, CM left me hanging with a little mystery even though I have a few clues and we now know who the main people are in the attacks.  I know these cliffhangers should have me shouting and pulling my hair out but strangely I kinda like them!!  I want the next book and I want to read more about these characters, these couples that I LOVE.

“Keep my sanity, leave my pain, without you here, I’m losing it. I’m pretty sure I’ve F***ing gone insane!”

About the Author

C.M. Stunich was raised under a cover of fog in the area known simply as Eureka, CA. A mysterious place, this strange, arboreal land nursed Caitlin’s (yes, that’s her name!) desire to write strange fiction novels about wicked monsters, magical trains, and Nemean Lions (Google it!). She currently enjoys drag queens, having too many cats, and tribal bellydance.

Always a fan of the indie scene and ‘sticking it to the man,’ Ms. Stunich decided to take the road less traveled and forgo the traditional publishing route. You can be assured though that she received several rejections as to ensure her proper place in the world of writers before taking up a friend’s offer to start a publishing company. Sarian Royal was born, and Ms. Stunich’s books slowly transformed from mere baking chocolate to full blown tortes with hand sculpted fondant flowers.

C.M. is a writer obsessed with delivering the very best and scours her mind on a regular basis to select the most unusual stories for the outside world.

Ms. Stunich can be reached via e-mail or by post and loves to hear from her readers. Ms. Stunich also wrote this biography and has no idea why she decided to refer to herself in the third person.
