Make Me by Amanda Heath Blog Tour & Giveaway

Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there.” I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with mine. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back.
He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine, “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak, “And I’ll be falling right there with you.”

Paisley Vaughn grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. After finding her mother dead from an overdose, Paisley and her baby sister are shipped off to live with her maternal grandparents.

She always knew they were rich, she just didn’t realize how rich they were. Now she’s being forced to go to a prestigious high school. One where the tuition is more money then she’s ever seen.

Thinking these rich kids are going to be snobbish and rude, she’s surprised to find the Vaughn name means she is untouchable. Well unless your name is Channing Southerland.

Paisley has to navigate her new life and all the new people in it. While her mother might have lied about her grandparents, no one is lying about Channing. He’s beautiful, mean, arrogant, and turning her on.

Before long a war is fought, leaving Paisley wondering if she’ll be ruined or made. Though she might just fall irrevocably in love.

“Do you really want me to fall for you?” I whisper.

He gets up from the ground and runs his fingers through his hair. He seems frustrated but I don’t know why. “That’s what I want,” he whispers also. Looking back at me. I can’t see his eyes from here but I know what they look like. Full of fear and uncertainly. “I’m scared though. I’ve never been in a serious relationship. And I really don’t want to fuck this up.”

I’m scared too. Sometimes he consumes my thoughts and that was before I knew how he felt. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be with him and I screw up. But I know that I want to fall for him. I know deep in my soul that I will never have a love in my life like I would with Channing.

And that’s the scariest thought I’ve ever had.

“I don’t know if that’s what I want,” I tell him looking away.

He runs his fingers through his hair yet again. “Paisley, don’t fuck with my head. I’ve had enough of that in my life. I can’t do crazy bitches anymore.”

I flinch with the comparison to his mother. To my mother. “I’m not fucking with your head. Maybe we shouldn’t do this.”

I can see he’s pissed now. He’s unable to see my fear that I’m trying to push him away, like he was trying to push me away. “Stop. The. Fucking. Head. Games!” he yells, taking a deep breath after each word.

“I’m not!” I yell back. Who knows what the truth is anymore. I’ve been screwed by a lot of people, but I’m still here. I wouldn’t survive being fucked over by Channing. I wouldn’t survive him breaking my heart.

“Dammit Paisley! Open your fucking eyes! This is fucking real. You and me, that’s real. What we feel isn’t a fling. I’ve never felt this way about anyone in my life. Don’t take it from me,” his voice is pleading.

My body breaks out in a cold sweat and I wipe my palms on my leggings. My limbs shake and I don’t know if I’m mad or just plain fucked up. Maybe it’s me with the commitment issues. No, I know it is me. So I do something for myself, I let go of that fear. Though it comes out more like anger.

“Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there,” I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with me. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back.

He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine. “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak. “And I’ll be falling right there with you.”

*4 Stars*

Paisley wakes one morning and goes about her normal routine of caring for her baby sister and getting herself to school. Little does she know her world is going to be turned upside down. Coming home to find her mother has died from drug use, she is thrust into a family and a lifestyle that she has never been apart of.

Channing is a hot, brooding, rich young man. He has a past that has kept him closed off from the outside world. He has friends and a life but his emotions are always in check. He is not one you mess with and get away with it.

When these two characters worlds collide, they have no clue how to handle it. They fight the attraction they have for each other. They come up with so many reasons to stay away from each other. Teasing and Taunting one another throughout  a good portion of the book.

“From the moment I met you, I wanted nothing to do with you. If you want a war, then I’ll bring it. But don’t think you’re going to get off on bossing me around. I don’t care about your money or your body.”

But then.. then they give in, and the magic of the book begins.  Paisley wants Channing to choose her, but everything with them usually comes as a challenge.

“Make me, Channing. Make me fall.

Channing and Paisley are the cutest couple ever. Learning to love at the same time learning to let go of fears they have . This book was a super cute read. I loved watching things unfold. I never EVER would have guessed some of the stuff revealed at the end.  🙂 haha you think I am going to tell you right? WRONG!! Go grab the book and read it 🙂 my friends. This was a 4 star book for me and I know you will enjoy it.

Return to Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia Blog Tour & Giveaway

Beckett Taylor is a murderer. His calling, his craft are destruction and intimidation—whether he wants it that way now or not. He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they’re better off without him, right?

But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake’s frantic voice on the phone. An unknown enemy has moved in on his old territory, and Livia’s been taken. In an instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, perhaps along with the new man he’s struggled to become.

“Brother, call Eve. I’ll be there soon.”

In this emotional and action-packed sequel to Poughkeepsie, Debra Anastasia conjures a tale of love at its most raw and ragged. With Beckett and Eve, how could we expect anything less? But even when it’s messy, not magical, true love perseveres. Real love finds a way—for better or for worse until death does part.

*4 Strong Stars*

Let me start by saying Thank You.  Thank You to Debra for writing another Poughkeepsie book.  I was overly excited knowing that this month would bring a very much highly anticipated sequel to my beloved Blake and Livie story.
Return to Poughkeepsie-this book is all about Beckett.
All about forgiveness.
All about the love of others.
Thoughtless about yourself.
Doing what’s right.
Doing something GOOD for someone else.

> I know I don’t have to spend any time getting you reacquainted with Beck bc we ALL remember him from the first book. Beck is a bad man…sort of. 🙂  Everything he’s done in his past has been for a reason.  He was the ‘dad’ sort of speak to Cole and Blake.  He took care of them and will ALWAYS take care of them- AND THEIR FAMILIES.

 No. Matter. What.
Now, I said this is all about Beckett, and even though it’s ALL about him and his need for becoming a respectable man and human being.  We catch up with our other favorite characters as well.
We see what Blake and Livie are up to in their life and although this storyline tore at my heart, we get to spend time with Cole and Kyle!!! There are a few quotes I would LOVE to add to my review but without a doubt it would give hints away and I can’t do it.
Beck left Poughkeepsie to keep his family and his loves safe.  But while he’s away trying to become a man- a person that Eve deserves crap happens.  Every character old and new, it’s all about Beck.  His past, his present and his future are all being stirred in a pot.  A big, dark and terrible pot. Things that will haunt him forever, things he had to let go of, things he longs and wishes for.

His staying away is put to a halt when without a doubt he will intervene to help his brother out. This leads to a jam packed last 20% or so.  Definite page turner at this point.

Now in all honesty, my thoughts as a whole-

As you know I loved Poughkeepsie.  Without a doubt one of my all time favorites books. It was such a new and different storyline that came out of the blue. Although I did enjoy returning to Poughkeepsie, I didn’t leave having the same feeling as I did with the first trip. I guess sometimes you just can’t recreate a golden gem. I rate Return to Poughkeepsie 4 stars.  4 strong stars.  I found myself skimming a small bit and getting bored with some of the story along the way.

One thing that was weird for me was, I was cheering for the underdog. I am known for sticking with one, the whole time.  In the beginning I was all for Beck and what he was doing but the more Ryan was involved in the story I wanted more and more of him.  This shocked even myself.  – Ryan- I LOVED HIM. I will limit my talk of Ryan bc there is much more to the story.  Book 3 has been set up and have mercy you will love and hate it.  I was speechless.

But bottom line what we grew to love Beck for in the first Poughkeepsie no worries he is well loved again in the Return!!!!

Debra Anastasia is busy, just like every other mom. There’s dinner, the dogs, the two kids, the two kids, and her ongoing battle with…ahem… digestive issues, which combined with her adolescent boy sense of humor makes for colorful and sometimes cringe-worthy social media updates. Her first love and crowning achievement is her thriving career as the weirdest mom on the block.

Her writing started a decent handful of years ago when–along with the animals and humans in her house–the voices of characters started whispering stories in Debra’s ear. Insomnia was the gateway to plots that wouldn’t give up, wouldn’t let go. Now they stalk her everywhere. Halfway through making lunches, a twist takes hold and–fingers full of peanut butter–she finds somewhere, anywhere to write it down.

She’s eternally grateful to Omnific Publishing, which has now published four of her books: two in the Seraphim Series and two in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series, as well as her novella, Late Night with Andres. That one is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. (So go get it right now, please!) She also very much appreciates her open-minded readers, who embrace everything she has to offer, with a focus on anti-heroes and bathroom humor.

Debra lives in Maryland with her family. You can find her at and on Twitter @Debra_Anastasia. But be prepared.

Sabrina’s eyes flew open and she quickly found the clock with her sleepy stare. She shot up in bed, holding the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets up to cover her bare breasts. Her hand yanked through the tangles of her deep brunette waves as she realized she’d overslept. “Shit,” she breathed before bracing herself for the chill her naked body would feel as she left the comfort of the California King.

Near the bedroom door she found her clothes, where she had slipped them off the night before to form a fabric puddle on the floor. Her eyes flicked back to the bed when she heard him grumble. She clasped her hot pink bra and zipped up the black pencil skirt she had shimmied into. An exasperated sigh rolled out of her and she sent out a tiny prayer that no one in the office would notice her wearing the same clothes two days in a row. A walk of shame was one thing, but strolling back in to work in a rumpled version of yesterday’s pristine outfit was a low she never thought she would sink to.

“What’s wrong?” he moaned from inside the mess of blankets and sheets she’d just left. Sabrina took in the sight of him as he sat up and met her gaze. The tanned skin of his defined chest was enough to make her quiver, but the grin he let settle on his lips when he saw her in nothing but her bra and skirt would’ve been the death of her had she not been so rattled by the clock.

“I’m gonna be late,” she replied. She found her V-neck sweater and smoothed it out as best she could. Looking in the mirror above his dresser, she wiped at the flecks of day-old mascara under her eyes and tried to perk up her cheeks with a few pinches. Through the mirror she could see him sitting in bed behind her. He ran a hand over his short-cropped salt-and-pepper hair and his grin turned into an arrogant smirk.

“I think the office can survive the morning without the one-hit wonder. Now get that beautiful ass back in my bed,” he said. Sabrina stopped and caught her own eyes in the mirror for a moment. How had he become so good at backhanding her with ancient history all while thrilling her with sideways compliments?

“I have a meeting with Charles. It’s important.” Her gut fluttered as she pulled her shirt over her head. It was half hangover and half unresolved guilt for not bending to him. He stood up, stretching his arms above his head, and she cursed herself for watching the muscles in his stomach twitch before letting her eyes linger south. He moved to her smoothly and wrapped his arms around her from behind, looking at her through the mirror while pushing his morning erection against the fabric of her skirt. He smelled like sex and cologne and Sabrina hated how badly those two things made her want him.

“Why don’t you just come work for me?” he asked, placing a kiss on the curve of her neck. That would go over well, she thought sardonically.

“I like my job, Beau. It’s not like I’m a secretary or something. I’m head of A and R …” Her voice disintegrated into midair as his kisses trickled down her neck and he began pawing at her sweater, coaxing her to take it off again. Her head swam as Beau’s strong hands slid under her shirt and smoothed over the skin of her abdomen and up to her breasts. A moan was waiting at the back of her throat. All she had to do was let go and submit to him.

Sabrina took a deep breath and stepped toward the dresser, pulling away from Beau. She spun, still barely in his grasp, and looked into his liquid copper eyes. He grinned and stopped his advances.

“I know you’re not a secretary, kid. You’re impressive and that’s why you should be working with me. You know enough about the business to easily transition into management,” he said, slowly drawing her near with his fingertips on her hips. Sabrina let her feet close the space between them. She looked up at him through her dark lashes and felt, as she often did under the weight of his stare, like a teenager. His proposal came as a shock to her. It had been years since he sounded that supportive of her. She couldn’t remember the last time he paid her a compliment that didn’t have to do with her body or how she used it.

“You mean that?” she asked, letting her hands settle on the ridges of his hard stomach. She loved the way her skin contrasted his. He had a naturally dark complexion—she was pretty sure he once said his mother’s parents were Greek—but spending a decent amount of vacation time in Maui was what kept him perfectly bronzed all year long.

His mouth lifted on one corner and his brows knit neatly together. Her eyes scanned his face for some sort of clue. She’d known him since she was seventeen years old but she still couldn’t read him. Maybe his offer was just a joke. Her stomach pitched and she looked at the clock again. Now she was really going to be late.

“Of course I mean it, kid. Go to your meeting and tell Uncle Charlie you’re moving on.” His voice was so smooth and confident. Her heart was pounding in her chest at the idea of working closely with Beau. Was this his version of commitment? Before her mind got any more wrapped up in the details his lips were pressed against hers roughly, melting away all of her thoughts. His tongue brushed against hers and she felt the butterflies in her stomach that had never gone away since the day she met him. Beau disconnected from the heart-stopping kiss easily and made his way to the adjoining bathroom.

Sabrina stood with her eyes shut for a moment, replaying his words in her head, willing herself to take him seriously and, more importantly, to accept his proposition. The sound of the shower woke her from her trance and she took one last look in the mirror. Good enough, she thought. She popped her head in the bathroom and grinned at the sight of his naked body behind the clear glass that had started to fog.

“Should I call you later?” she asked.

“Uh, yeah. If you want. I have a bunch of work to catch up on so…”

A wince flashed across her face at what she’d been expecting all along. The chill. She swallowed hard and told herself not to care, but it was too difficult. He always found a way to stifle whatever feeling he helped to bloom. It was the story of her life, in fact. Once upon a time, he’d been the one to help her flourish but it seemed like he’d spent the last ten years finding little ways to crush her.

“Okay,” she said, trying to hide the shaking in her voice. “I’ll see ya when I see ya.” She tried like hell to sound easygoing but she just ended up feeling like an idiot. Like the kid she knew he thought she was. Still.

“Yeah, see ya, Sabra,” he shouted over the water.

A shudder rolled through her and she wanted to blame it on the hangover.

“That’s not my name,” she muttered as she walked out of the bathroom.

**Christina’s Review**
5 Stars

As I sit here trying to come to terms with what I just read, I am in awe over the ability of Teresa Mummert to write a book like this. This book takes us through the story of Delilah.  A college girl trying to start fresh. Wanting to build a new life, to become someone other than herself. A person who she felt was unloved and unworthy.

“Worthless. It wasn’t that I viewed my tears as a weakness; it was that I knew what they’d said was true. I was a nothing. No one looked forward to seeing me in the morning. No one laid his head on his pillow at night to dream of me. I existed by pure accident, and no one would let me forget how unwanted I was.”

As the story progresses you get flashbacks of her life. You meet Brock, the boy who showed her love and affection. Who was her world. They were going to be together forever. Brock was super cute and funny. And I loved hearing the banter between him and Lie. He was a troubled kid with his own issues to work through but when he saw Lie he just wanted her to be happy and he didn’t worry about his own happiness.

“ For the first time in a long while, I cared about something. I wanted to make you smile.”

He had the cutest pet name for her “bird”. He was determined to set her free of her troubles and protect her.

“Those days are over, Bird. We have each other, and I won’t let them make you cry anymore.”

In current day we meet Abel. Abel is HOT and sarcastic, and infuriating.  Abel starts going out with Lie’s roommate but seems to keep gravitating towards her. He seems very protective over Lie, always “Saving” her from situations.  But at the same time pushing her to make choices to face facts about her life.   I actually kind of hated Abel at first.. but he grew on me as the book went on. When truths are revealed about Abel’s past it forces Lie to face her past. The past she was running from.  This is where the past and the present collide and when it does it blows you away.

That is where I will leave our story recap. Sorry you really need to experience this book to find out what the big twist is. When I finished this book I was in shock, Awe, Confused, Dumfounded, In LOVE, Mad, Happy, speechless ,and BLOWN AWAY. I never in a million years saw that coming.  I just sat there with my ipad in hand for a good 5 min just stunned and speechless. This book took me on an epic journey. Delilah’s story is beautifully told, and was so much fun to be invited into her world and experience it as she relived it. I felt like I was right there with the characters. I wanted to just reach out and smack them a few times. In fact I think my hand did reach out a time or two.. (earning some weird looks from my family).   In the end I think you will be just as blown away as I am. I still am trying to fully comprehend what I just read. Twisty, Edgy, and Mind blowing..

Remember Love is a beautiful and sweet love story of two childhood friends that were in love but never got a chance to see what would happen.  Now they finally get their second chance to have the love they have thought and dreamed about all these years.

Brenna is a soon to be college graduate who is at the point in her life where she needs to decide where she will settle now that she will be looking for work after graduation, does she stay in Louisville or return home, the place she could not wait to get away from 4 years ago.  Just weeks before graduation she goes back home for a weekend, she has a feeling that this weekend is going to change her and/or her plans.  Who is the first person she runs into but Tucker Wade.

Tucker James is the hot blue blood country boy that stole her hear many years ago when he moved there when she was just eight.  They were best friends that promised each other forever and as they became teens the friendship grew into love.  But something happened and Tucker disappeared from her life and that was the end of them, until now.  But Tucker is waiting for her to remember them and their love

I really loved the storyline and the love they shared.  I love how deep it was and that it lasted all those years without fading but found the book jumped right into them being together within the first few pages.  I would have really loved to seen some build up to it, especially after it being 8 years since they had gone their separate ways.  I really enjoyed both main characters but at times would have loved to seen more emotion from them.  I also would have loved a bit more drama, the few parts of drama that  had so much potential but fell flat for me.

This book had a really great story for the author’s debut novel and it was really good quick read.  I believe her writing does have potential and look forward to reading Spencer and Lexi’s story in the next book.

Dark Erotic Romance

Release Date: February 19, 2014

My uncle raped me.

I was 10 years old when it started.

At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop.

At 16 I was ready to kill him.

Today, I’m broken.

Today, I only breathe to survive.

My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.

“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.”

Oh, Master.

Yes, Master Cover

“It’s just such a difficult situation.”

“Of course it’s difficult.” She stops talking and taps her fingernails again. My eyes go to where she’s tapping, and then follow up to her face. I try to avoid her abrasive orbs. “You’re overpowered by agony and torment, and it’s slowly claiming you day by day.”

I finally concede and look into Stella’s eyes. Because every word she’s said, and every sentence that she’s breathed out has been so accurate about me.

“Freedom,” she says as I intake a huge gulp of air at that word. “I can promise you freedom if you can promise me you’ll never lie to me.”

I want it. I think I may even deserve my very own happily ever after. Are they real? According to movies and books they’re attainable. But this isn’t a movie, or even a fucking book.

This is my life.

And I’m going to try to get it.

“No lies, ever,” I whisper.

I don’t do ‘normal’.

I’ve found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader.
I take the normal and switch it around.
For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it’s the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I’ve done my job as an author I want to be.
I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different.
My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won’t label myself because I don’t like sticking to one genre.
My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it’s only for a split second.
I’m a go with the flow sort of person and don’t really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don’t usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I’ll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don’t like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don’t believe that’s necessary, I mean life’s hard enough as it is!
I hope you enjoy my books, I’ve had a hoot writing them. There’s more to come…..
Til next time.

M xx
