Bender by Stacy Borel Cover Reveal

All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded their own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks.

Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan’s personal business, couldn’t seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn’t put up with his domineering ways.

Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control.

To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But to both Camden and Keegan it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at.

Standing up I began pacing. This was going too far. I could handle nice gestures, but coming into my room, and giving me things that I didn’t ask for was taking it too far. I wanted it out. I wanted it all out.

Marching downstairs, I was a girl on a mission. When I reached the bottom step, Camden turned around to look at me. Sure enough, there was that smug, satisfied little grin. I bet he was expecting a thank you for his diluted sense of generosity. Oh boy, was he in for a treat. I smiled back at him, but I had a feeling it didn’t look quite right. I was certain I had a crazed look in my eyes, and at this point, I didn’t care. My crazy was about to be hanging out all over the place. Now where in the hell was what it? My eyes drifted to the corner of the dining room. Up against the wall was the Louisville Slugger, just what I was looking for. I casually walked over to it and picked it up. I knew Camden’s eyes were tracking me. The grin on his mouth had slipped and now he just looked confused. I held the bat in my hand, testing its weight and deciphering my next move.

“What are you doing?” Cam asked.

I looked up at him, sending daggers at him through my eyes. “Practicing my swing.”

His confusion deepened. When I saw his eyebrows raise, I knew realization hit him. “Now Keegan, don’t go doing something you’re going to regret.”

The laugh that came from my mouth was pure evil. It sounded bizarre, even to me. “Oh Camden, I’m not going to regret this. I’m going to enjoy it very much.” With that I turned on my heels raced up the stairs. But not before heard him say “shit” and hurdle the couch coming after me.

I made it up to my room before he did. I took a brief moment to breathe in through my nose and back out through my mouth. I was centering myself for my grand swing. Standing before the beautiful bed he had no business buying me, I brought the bat up high and was about to bring it down as hard as I could, when it stopped mid air. Twisting my head around, I locked eyes with wild deep brown ones.

“Don’t you dare.” He growled, inches from my face.

excerpt btn

My encounter with Julien Belmont wasn’t pleasant. Suzie didn’t want to piss off the already distraught Julien, so she thought it was a better idea to wait him out, figuring that eventually he would have to go home and rest. Welp, that didn’t quite go as planned since the chump looked as though he was planning on moving right in with Emily in the hospital. Freaking kiss-ass!

When Suzie came downstairs and told me that I had five minutes before Julien got back from the restroom, I groaned in annoyance. This was so freaking wrong. I had been with Emily for years. This lame guy just got here, and I was now being forced to sneak around and tip toe around him as if he was some freaking God.

Just get to Emily!

When we got upstairs, Emily laid seemingly asleep. Her frail, small body was bandaged up in various places. The centerpiece, her head, had suffered the most damage. My heart broke at the sight. Thoughts of her laughing and enjoying life flooded my mind as I watched the contrasting void expression on her face.

“They put her in an induced coma to allow her body time to heal. Something about swelling in her head,” Suzie said while fighting a fresh wave of tears.

I stared at my girl, my heart aching, knowing that there wasn’t much I could do to help her other than let her know that I was here with her.

“Baby girl, what did I tell you about talking on the phone and driving, huh? I swear you’re trying to kill me. Don’t you know I love you? I’ll always love you, sweet girl.”

“Just what in the hell do you think you’re doing?” I heard from behind me before someone grabbed hold of my uniform work shirt.

Needless to say, Mr. Tall-dark-and-handsome was a pain in my ass! French! Emily was dating a freaking Frenchman. How the hell was I going to compete with that shit!

End Of The Innocence by Alessandra Torre Blog Tour & Giveaway

end of the innocense

He thought I owned him. He thought he loved me, that I was enough. But this animal, this sex god who could drive me crazy and steal my heart in the same breath, he would never be fully mine. It was impossible. No one ever owns a God.

Goodreads Button with Shadow

I felt Brad’s hand move, tugging on my chair and pulling me close to him. He captured my face in his hands, his eyes examining my features. “I love you so much,” he murmured, his eyes moving over and focusing on my lips before he tugged me to him, taking ownership of my mouth with a few soft swipes of his tongue. I opened my lips further, deepening the contact, my hands stealing into his hair. I broke the kiss, pushing my chair back and standing, moving closer to him and spreading his knees with my legs. He slid deeper in the chair, reclining back against the soft leather, gazing up at me with a latent dominance of the nothing-but-trouble variety. I grinned playfully down at him, and slid one strap, then the other, of my dress down, dragging the fabric until my bare breasts were exposed, lit softly by the blue-gray lights of the room.

He groaned softly, a guttural sound, and stared into my eyes, tightening his knees against my legs. “Come here.”

I shook my head and knelt, running my hands softly up his dress pants, past his muscular thighs, until I reached his belt. He watched me, his eyes darkening and he leaned forward suddenly, snagging my chin and pulling it up, his eyes grabbing me possessively before kissing me hard, a deep kiss that reclaimed his power before he released me, leaning back and watching me.

“Do you always have to be in control, Mr. De Luca?” I purred the words, unbuckling his belt with one motion, then rubbed my hand over the zipper line, feeling the outline of his cock underneath the fabric, the shape of him hardening under my fingers. He didn’t answer, his eyes locked on mine, dark orbs of sexuality. I suddenly needed to see him, needed to have his bare skin in my hand, to feel the throb of what was mine. I looked away from his eyes, focusing, and unbuttoned and unzipped his pants. Then, he was in my hand, an impossibly thick, hard shaft, the skin hot beneath my palm. I stroked it, the firm grip eliciting an intake of Brad’s breath.

“Put it in your mouth.” The order came through in a drugged tone, desire glowing at me from under heavy eyelids.

I shook my head, increasing the speed of my stroke as I watched him. He frowned slightly, lifting his hips a bit, bringing the nine inches of insanity closer to my face. I spoke, my tone a mixture of dominance and bite. “What is your plan with the girl?”

He sat up slightly, his eyes opening more, and watching me carefully. “What girl?”

“The stripper. The one you fucked last time you were here.”

“I thought that didn’t bother you.”

I hissed. “It didn’t bother me last time. Things are different now. Are you going to talk to her?”

“I feel like this is a test of some sort …” he mumbled. His breath hitched a bit as I squeezed his cock, loving the feel of complete stiffness in my hands. “What is you want, Julia?”

I ran my tongue lightly, teasingly, over the top of his head, taking it into my mouth for one brief moment before I pulled off, my hands never pausing in their movement, a quick pace that traveled his entire length with every stroke. “I want you to handle it,” I said firmly. “I want her to understand that you will never have sex with her again.”

“Never?” I released him, the sudden departure causing his eyes to open and a frown to settle over his features. “I’m joking. Don’t stop.”

I resumed my movement, my free hand gathering his heavy balls in my hand, squeezing him softly as I stroked his length with a firm hand.

“Come here,” he said, sitting up and pulling on my arms.

“No.” I fixed him with my sternest look, my hand increasing in speed.

“Julia, come here. I want to talk to you about this without being tongue-tied by your hands on my cock.” He pulled harder, his strong arms lifting me easily onto his lap, despite my best attempt at resistance.

Sitting on his lap created a new set of problems. Mainly him, standing at attention against my thighs. I sat sideways on his lap and spread my knees slightly, my hand stealing in between my legs to grab him.

Beth's Review4 stars

After reading devouring the first two books and Brad’s novella, I could not wait to read this one, I truly was chomping at the bit.  If you have not read Blindfolded Innocence or Masked Innocence, READ NO FURTHER, this will contain spoilers and this series truly needs to be spoiler free to truly experience and enjoy it to the fullest.

The End of Innocence starts off with a hell of a prologue, it gives us a very quick glimpse of what is to come and it left me with my jaw on the floor saying OMG.  From there this book picks right up from where it left off in Masked Innocence, Brad and Julia are just engaged and then next morning he will be informing his father of their engagement in order to try to secure her safety.  Julia has asked that they wait a year to be married, giving her time to decide if he truly can be the man she needs him to be.

Along with telling his father about the engagement, Brad pushes  for them to make their engagement public, especially at CDB, which Julia is hesitant about and ended up not being receive very well by some.  Once they do go public, the wedding planning begins and as a newly engaged couple on top of being a new couple, they must now spend the next year figuring out their relationship and whether it will truly work.  Are the feelings they currently have enough to build a marriage on, one that Brad demands will NEVER end in divorce.  Julia has one year to decide if this is truly what she wants, with Brad and her future as a lawyer and will one effect the outcome of the other.

From the very first moment I met Brad De Luce almost 2 years ago in Blindfolded innocence, I fell in love with his character.  Yes, he was a player but he was hot, and sexy and very Alpha… Yes Mr. De Luca, what every you say!  But as I read through the series, we see Brad change, Brad will always be Brad, needing to control everything, always being the Alpha male that we love, but his love for Julia makes him become the man he she needs him to be.

I really enjoyed Julia’s character, she truly developed over the series.   I loved her independence and her strength.  I loved that even though she had fear of his family, that she didn’t back down and when it mattered to her, she even stood her ground with him.  When you put these two great characters together,, these two are off the charts hot.  Then mix in a third party (several time I must add) and wow, they weren’t just panty wetting scenes, they were panty drenching and panty melting scenes.  I must say that the “damn that was hot” factor of this book was totally off the charts.

Although there were so many great parts I absolutely loved, I must add that there were parts of this book that really fell flat for me.  At the end of book 2 we are left hanging, waiting for the verdict of Julia’s safety once Brad tells his father the news of their engagement.  After reading that “OMG” prologue, I expected this book to start off and to continue with that intensity.  But sadly the I found the first 30-40% really fizzled for me .  Parts I expected so much more from, like when Brad went to speak to his father, left me scratching my head saying ”that’s it”.  There were also parts that just felt completely unnecessary.  I also felt that the end was very rushed, I wanted so much more from the ending and the epilogue, it left me feeling unsatisfied.  Then when I saw the note at the end of the book with a link to her website to give a bonus scene that happens 4 years down the road, I was so excited.  I clicked immediately on it and started reading, only to wish that I hadn’t once I was done.  I am a girl who loves my Epi’s and I wanted to see what came of them but I really didn’t like where the author took Julia in her life, I felt the person Julia was four years later wasn’t true to her character that was portrayed through the first three books.

I did really enjoy this book and must say that once I got past the first 40%, this book really picked up for me.  This book was suspenseful leaving me on the edge of my seat and at times felt my heart racing, I just couldn’t read fast enough.  And like I said above, the several scenes going on between these two and sometimes with a third party thrown in, they were  truly were phenomenal and very very hot.  This series was the first I have read of the author’s works and really enjoyed her writing style.   I really loved the series overall and will definitely be checking out more of her books

The Face In The Mirror by Barbara S. Stewart Cover Reveal

Loss brings things home. You reflect on what you had, and what you’ve lost.
What if you met the love of your life… Again?
What if he never fell out of love with you?
And you realized that you were still in love with him.
Could you push the past aside…
And focus on the future?
Relive what was good…
And learn from the bad?
What if you found a secret…
That revealed that everything about your family was a lie…
Changed your thoughts on love and commitment…
And turned all that you believe in upside down…
What if a mirror reflected what you loved…
And what you lost?
That night as I was getting ready for bed, the song played through in my head and I felt my own body swaying to the music. I was washing my face and brushing my teeth, and when I looked in the mirror, I saw Mitchell coming into the bathroom. I smiled and danced a little more.
“Puttin’ on a show for me?” he asked, placing his hands on my hips, lifting my hair, kissing my neck, and then my shoulder.
“Heard this song today that the girls were listening to and I can’t get it out of my head,” I replied, watching him in the mirror.
“What song has you moving like that, Renie? I need to hear it and see the rest of your moves,” he said, as he flashed a sexy smile in the mirror. I reached to grab my phone off the counter. As I turned, I leaned back, placing my bottom on the edge of the counter and started the song.
‘Cuz with your hand in my hand and a pocket full of soul
I can tell you there’s no place we couldn’t go
Just put your hand on the glass
I’ll be tryin’ to pull you through
You just gotta be strong…
Mitchell took my hands and pulled me to him and began to do some swayin’ of his own – and I liked it!
“Why haven’t we danced like this before, Renie?” he asked, nuzzling my neck, leaving hot breath behind as his hands softly caressed my back. “It’s a huge turn-on,” he whispered.
“Huge,” I repeated, barely able to breathe.
It’s like you’re my mirror
My mirror staring back at me…
“Thank you for being the other half of my reflection,” I whispered as he lifted me into his arms.
He carried me to the bed and started the song once more, kissing me, touching me in ways that had my body aching for more, and he gave me what I wanted.
Later, lying in Mitchell’s arms, he told me, “I saw her in the mirror… and I’m gonna pray that I see her again…”
Excited, I sat up. “You did? You saw my mom?”
“No. I saw the woman of my dreams, the woman I’ve loved since I was a young man. I saw you Renie.”

Jennifer Domenico started
writing as a five-year old child in the back of her mother’s bible in
church. It was a way to keep the fidgety child quiet but even then she
took simple stories and twisted them into even more imaginative tales.
As she grew, the stories grew with her and she filled notebook after
notebook with her musings.

As an adult, she knew she wanted to be
a writer but she lacked the attention span and inspiration required to
produce a full length story. Eventually she put away her notebooks and
turned her attention to the business world where she toiled away for
many years.

She stopped reading fiction, stopped entertaining her
outlandish imagination, and stopped dreaming of being a writer. Until
one day, many months ago she went to sleep and a beautiful love story
played out in her dreams.

When she awoke she felt compelled to
write it down. And she wrote and she wrote, for days and days she wrote.
The result is part one of Enzo and Ava’s story. Turn Towards the Sun is
her first, but certainly not her last, novel.

Dominic Armstrong or otherwise know as Monster by his wife Eden is a media mogul and one of Fortune 500’s top five wealthiest people. The public knows him as powerful but what they don’t know about him is his dark secrets and what happens with his wife behind closed doors.

Eden is his arm candy in public and his whore in bed.

“He bent down so that he was inches away from her face, his cold green eyes piercing her. “Now, go clean my come off your face and wait for me like a good little wife, hmmm?”

At first I could not stand Dominic. He treated her like a sex slave and had her perform in front of his friends. After 5 years of a marriage that was full of mental abuse Eden escapes and tries to start her life over. She has a reason for leaving and you are going to have to read the book to find out why.

Can someone change and become the man and husband he needs to be in order to get his wife back or is it too late?

The author did a wonderful job with this one. I started out hating Dominic but by the end I had a soft spot in my heart for him and wanted to see Eden and Dominic together.

The chemistry between the two is fantastic and you can actually feel the tension between them. Dominic had a heart, but his messed up childhood played a huge role in how he treated others.

How could he trust when his beliefs were rooted in violence, fear, and hate?” “How could he show affection and love, when he had been so cruelly deprived of it?”

In the beginning Eden seems like a weak woman but don’t be fooled. She is extremely strong willed and as the story unfolds you learn that she can give just as well as she takes.

“My name isn’t pet or sweeting or whatever else you twisted mind might think to call me. It’s Eden, it has always been Eden, and it will always be Eden, so give me the courtesy of calling me by my given name.”

The story was fast paced and flowed pretty well. I found myself sitting on the edge waiting to see how the story played out. If you are looking for a book that is not your typical love story that has some dark and OMG!! moments. Then you are going to want to read this.

Excerpt 72

****The following excerpt is for 18+ only****

“Soon, sweetie, I promise,” he soothed. She moaned softly as he licked her ear, dropped soft warm kisses across her shoulder blades, he moved down her back, a wet tongue and hot mouth traced and kissed each vertebrae, making a slow and steady progress down her spine. It was a torturous progression that boiled the blood in Eden’s veins as she waited in bated anticipation. Breath stilled in her lungs, eyes widening when he drew apart her butt cheeks and ran his tongue down the wet crevice, from clit to the puckered rosebud of her hole and back again. It was undoubtedly one of the most erotic things he’d ever done to her body, and Eden didn’t know how to breathe properly. She gripped the sheets beneath her hands and bit down hard on her bottom lip to keep from screaming.

It was like a shot of adrenaline straight into her vein. It was blood vessels dilating, her heart galloping uncontrollably in her chest, it was gasping for breath when the air she drew in wasn’t enough. He owned her body, ate it like sun ripened peaches and drank the flowing juices of her weeping womanhood with his rapacious tongue. There were fingers there, slipping between the folds to dive deep into her blistering heat, while his thumb worked at her puckered hole, his wicked, wicked mouth showing Eden exactly how very little she knew her of own body. There was nothing but the explicitness of this act, the hyper awareness that made her feel like each inch of her body was struck by lightning, that killed her and gave her life all in one electrifying jolt. He was merciless and perfect, inviting her to shove her hips back and ride his face.

Death was imminent, sweet cataclysmic death seduced her into the gaping, welcoming arms of her orgasm. She plummeted, shattered into delicious little pieces on his tongue and fingers. Recuperating wasn’t in the stars for her as he gripped her hips and plunged into her depths in one long stroke. Pulling her arms and folding them at the small of her back, he held them there with one large hand as he sank in deeper, so deep that it hurt so good. Ass high in the air, face down in the sheets, Eden was at his complete mercy, filled to absolute capacity with his cock, and she whimpered, the vulnerability of her position giving her a sweet high.

“I’m going to beat this pussy, Eden, and you’re going to scream my name.”

And she did, a promise made completely true as he fucked her like a porn star. She screamed like the world was falling, his repeated strike against her G-spot making her see stars. It was too damn much, his jarring thrusts so deep that she could taste him, spurred her fall and she orgasmed on every inch of his cock.

“Annie!” I squealed, running and scooping her up before she
had the chance to escape. I rained kisses all over her face. She was clearly
confused, but she seemed to like it. The evidence? She dropped her doll and
squeezed my neck.
Erica stared at me through narrowed eyes. “No one, including
me, likes my children that much. What is going on?”
Annie giggled on cue, like she understood her mother’s
words. I laughed outright.
“Your momma’s silly, isn’t she? Isn’t she?” I asked, poking
Annie’s sides.
“Oh my God, who are you?” Erica demanded. “Where’s my BFF
who promised me she’d never have children so I could live vicariously through
her? I swear to God if you’re pregnant…”
“Calm down,” I said over the top of Annie’s head. She
twisted in my arms signaling she was over my show of affection. I placed her on
the floor beside her discarded doll. “How would I even be pregnant?”
“Sex. It’s called sex,” Erica replied. She finished folding
the last of Little Noah’s shirts, then tossed it in the laundry basket.
“Don’t say s-e-x in front of the baby!” I chided.
“B, she doesn’t know what sex is.”
“She’ll repeat it.”
“Who cares?”
“Oh, so you want to be the mother with the kid who knows the
bad words?” I asked.
“Bad word?” Erica asked, laughing.
“You know what I mean,” I said. “You want to be the mother
who all the other mothers gossip about? Like about how bad your parenting

Erica placed her hand on her hip. “Yeah, I do. Fuck ‘em.

What happens when you take a chance one night … make a decision that will change your life forever?

Kasey Wilson, the girl next door, had a crush on the boy next door … Joseph Mitchell was that boy.

Kasey was left with the consequences of her decision when Joseph left her behind, leaving for the Marine Corps. She never thought she would see Joseph again, leaving her to continue on with her life, moving forward.

But fate has a way of intervening …

Joseph Mitchell always lived with the regret of walking away that night, never to see Kasey again. Finally ready to settle down, he’s now engaged to someone else. But when he finds Kasey again, he learns of a secret she’s been keeping, a secret that will change both their lives forever.

Can they finally have the relationship they never had? Or will Joseph be forced to walk away again?

We’re in the plane and I already feel relieved I have both the girls inside it. Finding our seats, I go straight to making sure Josephina is safely buckled into her booster seat next to the window, as requested. Of course Kasey takes the aisle seat, wanting to be as far away from the window as she can be, leaving me in the middle. Normally I would hate this seat, preferring the isle so I can stretch my legs, but I wasn’t going to complain this time. As long as it made Kasey happy, and less nervous, she can have it.

The roar of the jet engines grow louder as we begin to taxi down the runway and I feel Kasey’s hand start to grip mine with a fierceness that conveys her fear. I allow her to squeeze it as tightly as she wants as I focus on Josephina, who is now starting to look a little frightened as well. The plane starts to gain speed and Josephina grows more excited. The second it starts to climb, I hear an excited gasp from both of them. I can’t help but smile because, for the first time, I’m actually experiencing a first with both of them and it feels so good. It’s the best feeling in the world to experience it. I can’t wait to experience more firsts with them.

With the plane now in the air, I manage to calm Kasey to the point where she is no longer scared. Josephina is looking out of the window, taking in the view of the clouds in the sky, as we start to make small talk about the different shapes and sizes; making it a game between the two of us. The hours quickly go by and when I think everything is going fine for the remainder of the flight, the plane picks up a bit of turbulence, causing it to shutter and slightly drop elevation.

The pilot’s voice comes over the intercom announcing for everyone to take their seats and buckle up due to the turbulence. We do so, but the only thing I can think of at this moment is, why does this have to happen to us? Especially since I already know Kasey is scared out of her mind, probably thinking the plane will crash down at any minute.

Taking a quick glance at Josephina to makes sure she is fine, I turn my attention to Kasey. She’s gripping her armrest with a force that is making her knuckles turn white. Her eyes are tightly shut, the strain clear on her face. From the rise and fall of her chest, I know she’s panicking. I try to pry her fingers from their tight grip on the armrest, but it proves difficult with the force she’s using. I start to see tears escape her closed eyelids and my heart begins to ache seeing her like this. It’s entirely my fault she’s going through this.

I reach up to pull her head closer to me as I begin to whisper in her ear. “Kasey, you need to calm down. You’re going to scare Josephina if she see’s you this way.” Hoping she’s listening to me as I say the words.

Frantically, she shakes her head, her eyes still tightly shut when I hear her whimper. “Please, Kasey.” I desperately plead, praying she’ll listen. The plane jolts, the shutter making Kasey’s sobs return. On the other side of me I hear a giggling Josephina, the opposite of what I have facing me. Knowing Josephina is still okay, I continue focusing my attention on Kasey.

I need to do something, anything, to calm her down before she has a heart attack on me. I do the only thing that comes to mind. Grabbing her face, forcing her to face me, I don’t wait for her to open her eyes before my mouth is descending down onto hers to give her a kiss on her closed lips.

Her eyes go wide, letting out a gasp against my lips. Taking advantage, I deepen the kiss, pushing my tongue into her mouth. My tongue grazes hers and I can feel the warmth of it, making it impossible to hold back. My eyes close as I tilt her head to better kiss her, wanting to taste more of her. My tongue glides against hers, exploring every inch of her mouth with each second that goes by. I feel her moan into my mouth and I swear it’s the greatest sound I’ve ever heard.

The excitement of knowing I’m kissing Kasey again makes me want more. She tastes so sweet. Better than the memories I hold from the last time I kissed her. The memories and dreams I’ve had for the last five years don’t compare to the way it feels as I’m kissing her right now.

I want to keep kissing her forever, but the thought is easily broken. “Are you guys going to be stuck like that forever?” Josephina asks from the other side of me, followed by her cute little giggle.

Kasey shoves at my chest. Our mouths quickly break apart, making me open my eyes to stare at her. Her breathing looks as rapid and heavy as mine. Her lips look swollen and her face is flushed with a pink blush from the kiss. I’m still holding her face in my palms, but when her hands come up and grab for my wrists, she pulls my hands from her face, leaving me disappointed. I’m still in shock from kissing her that I easily allow her to pull away.

The plane’s turbulence is gone and the pilot is announcing we can safely move about the cabin now. Kasey leans her body across mine to reach for Josephina to check on her. The feeling of her body rubbing up against my chest isn’t helping with the carnal thoughts flooding my mind. They started the moment I began kissing her. Remembering what resulted from the last time I kissed her. The night I’d left her.

Kasey’s calm collective voice breaks my memory. “No, sweetheart, we won’t get stuck like that forever. It shouldn’t have happened,” she sternly states, more like a reprimand.

Hearing her say those words is a stab to my heart.

She leans back into her chair to quickly unbuckle her seatbelt, before she stands up, making her way down the aisle to the restroom. As I watch her walk away, I wonder if she’s angry with me. From the way she was returning my kiss, I would have thought she wanted it too, but her horrified expression is telling me otherwise.

I don’t know what is going through her mind at this moment, but I know what’s going through mine, that was the best kiss I’ve had since leaving for boot camp. I don’t regret kissing her at all.

Josie's review

4.5 stars

I am a military mom so anything with military in it I jump in and let me say I loved this book.  Gabbie Duran did such an amazing job and I was stuck from the prologue.

Kasey Wilson is the good girl next door. Her family is very religious but she has had a major crush on Joseph Mitchell (the boy next door) forever.  The night before he leaves for boot camp Kasey wants to say goodbye to Joseph. She has the perfect opportunity since her parents are away on a retreat.  Let’s just say for a religious girl she surprised me.  Joseph never expressed his true feelings for Kasey because he thought she was too innocent and good for him but that one night changed everything for the both of them.

“I’ve waited so long to be able to that.  I better leave now, Kasey, before I end up doing something I’m going to regret.”

“Please don’t leave.  Not now.”

“Are you sure?  Just let go, Kasey.  It will feel good.  I promise.”

Things go wrong for the two. Joseph walks away without a goodbye, and Kasey’s mother starts to notice a change in her. She sends Kasey to her aunt’s home and no longer wants anything to do with her.  When I was reading that part, I wondered what kind of parents would do that to their child?! I cried for Kasey, her innocence and the loneliness she felt being exiled by her family.  Kasey tried to reach out to Joseph to let him know where she was at but to no avail. He never showed up to get her.  Joseph, I was so angry with him! He did go back for Kasey after boot camp but was told she was gone and not to look for her.

5 years later, Kasey and Joseph’s paths cross and when the truth comes out, things will change for the pair.  Joseph is still in the Marines and is visiting his friend Mark.  You will love Mark and his wife Ashley. They offer him the support he needs and also are not afraid to tell him the truth.  Joseph is engaged to Elizabeth (a slurry mole troll) that not only his best friend and his wife hate but you will too (YEP I DID).

“You still with that girl you hooked up with a couple of years ago in Vegas?”

“Her name is Elizabeth.  I finally popped the question to Elizabeth and we’re getting married.”

“Are  you sure she’s the one dude?  Like the one you can’t live without?”

“I silently answer to myself; no she isn’t the one I couldn’t live without.  That girl I left behind long ago and I’ve haven’t seen her since.”

SO when their paths cross again a secret comes out that changes the course of this couple, and now they will have to make decision.

“I’m surprised to see you as well.  I never thought I would see you again.”

“I didn’t think I’d ever see you again either.”

“Is there something you need to tell me, Kasey?”

Ok now back to the slurry troll mole beotch Elizabeth…she brings a new meaning to the word STUCK-UP BIMBO.  She is awful, cruel, vindictive and selfish. I was so upset that Joseph let things happen and let her control the relationship.  I swear to God when you read the things that come out of her mouth, you are going to want to b*tch slap her!!!

“Your brother is your family and Mark is mine, so I feel he should be my best man.”

“My brother is going to be your family soon so I don’t see why he can’t be your best man.  He can be one of your groomsmen, but I’m not adding his pregnant wife.   She’d be too fat by the wedding and I don’t want fat people in my wedding.”’

“Look Elizabeth, I’m tired and I really don’t want to argue with you tonight.”

Joseph will make you swoon, and he knows that Kasey is the one. It is just hard for him to let Elizabeth down.  When Kasey finds out about Elizabeth she is willing to walk away but Joseph will not let another 5 years go without Kasey in his life.

“I don’t care what she thinks, Kasey.   I brought you here because I can’t stand the thought of knowing that you’re so far away.”

“How can you say you don’t care what she thinks?  Don’t you love her enough to car about her feelings?”

“I don’t love her anymore.”

Elizabeth will try so hard to keep a relationship that never was there. It is funny but I blame Joseph for not putting his foot down.

“Who the hell is she?  And, what the f**k are you both doing naked?  Did you just f**k her?”

“Don’t you even try to make me believe that sh*t anymore, Elizabeth I don’t love you anymore.  To tell you the truth my heart belonged to someone else.”

Kasey is very insecure, naïve, stubborn and does not believe that she is Joseph’s first and only choice.  As I mentioned being throw away by your own parents and in 5 years no one has searched you out, you will believe you are not worthy as well.

“I’m just confused about what to think.  Everything is only happening because you’re barely out of relationship with Elizabeth.  I can’t help but continues to believe I’m simply a replacement to her.”

“It wasn’t until you came back into my life, that I opened my eyes to the real person she was. I couldn’t be with someone who didn’t want a family with me.  Kasey you saved me from a life a misery.”

This is a short, emotional and passionate read that will keep you interested from start to finish.  Kasey and Joseph will have to trust and fight to be together.  Did time away from each other only make the road ahead to a life filled without love?  Can these two manage to come together even though they live far apart?  Will Elizabeth walk away quietly?  I have some much highlighted but if I added it  will be a serious spoiler alert, so you should click on the link and read it. You will fall in love with Kasey and Joseph.

I received a complimentary copy from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.
