Debbie's review

3 stars

This book started off really good with a love-hate relationship between the two main characters. The story is told in Nic and Craig’s POV and I really loved being in Craig’s head. He was cocky and sexy as hell and I loved all his dirty talking. Nic was a strong main character but towards the end of the book I found her to being a little over dramatic and whiny.

“If he wants to play this game, he can bring it the fuck on. I am not in the mood right now.”

Nic and Craig’s parents have been in a feud since before they were born. Neither knew why there didn’t talk but they were told that they were never to talk to each other. When Nic and Craig’s grandparents died their world was turned upside down with one phone call. They were to be married to each other for 12 months and at the end they could divorce and would inherit a huge sum of money. The problem with this deal is that they both had strong feelings for each other. They decided that not only was the money a good selling point they would actually be able to spend time with each other even if it is only for 12 months. Neither of them knew that the other one had true feelings and wanted to be together for real.

“Craig and I have gone from enemies to lovers, or should I say pretend lovers.”

The tension and banter between these two in the beginning of the book was great. I loved how they pushed each other’s buttons and let me say that the sex parts between them were fan-freaking-tastic. The problem I had was this book and why I can’t rate it higher was that this big secret didn’t really seem like such a big secret when it was revealed. I felt that Nic clearly over reacted when she learned about it and it seemed to me that the story moved away from their unique relationship and focused around the secret too much.

“I’m going to fuck you so hard, that every time you move, you’ll think I’m inside you. Every time you read your smut, you’ll think its me and you fucking.”

If you are looking for a cute and steamy book that will have you smiling and giggling while reading it than this is a book you want to check out.

“Who’d have thought a few years ago that Craig and I would get married for a deal? For money no less? And who would have thought we had loved each other since we were sixteen? Love has a weird way of showing itself and deep down, I know our grandparents pre-determined this, even if they didn’t know it would end this way. Two families. One secret.”

I turn back to the waves, pick up my bag and grab my phone. John looks over my shoulder, wondering just what I am doing but I sit closer to him and lean in so my cheek is next to his. This feels totally weird but I am going to document this moment and remind him that I gained his trust, albeit, a little too fast, but we are now Father and Daughter-in-law and we haven’t had a picture together yet.

“Um, Nic, just what the hell are you doing?” John asks but I reply with my arm around his shoulder and my arm stretched upwards with my phone. I smile into it, catching John’s expression. A mix of confusion, amusement and disbelief at what I am doing.

“Taking our first Father-in-law/Daughter-in-law photo, now smile, John!” I demand, smiling into the camera. John follows suit and I snap the image. I bring the phone so both of us can see the picture and I laugh. He certainly looks like an older version of Craig and he really is a DILF. I know for a fact when Craig and I have kids he is going to be the yummiest DILF imaginable and I cannot wait!

“Well, Papa Thomas, that is your birthday present sorted.” I giggle, locking the phone and throwing it to the bottom of my bag. John shakes his head and stares back out to the ocean.

“You know, Nic, I had you down all wrong. I thought you were a spoilt little girl who was exactly like her mother, but you are nothing like her. You’re like your father; strong, determined, and loyal. I’m so lucky that in some backarse way you and Craig found each other and I’m proud to call you my Daughter-in-law.” John admits and I look to him, tears filling my eyes. It’s hard to swallow but I push the lump down. I lean forward and wrap my arms around his neck, wanting a hug. John’s arms wrap around my back and he laughs at my emotions, rubbing my back as I sniff the tears back.

“You have no idea how much that means, DILF.” I murmur, drawing back from him. I smile widely at him and gather up my belongings, ready to leave and dart to Kelsie’s to pick up my suitcase. “I’ll see you around, Papa Thomas. Don’t be a stranger now we are BFF’s” And with a wink I begin to walk away from him.

“What’s a DILF?” He shouts after me and I let out a hearty laugh. I turn around and begin to walk backwards.

“Google it.”

Losing Her by Mariah Dietz Cover Reveal

Title: Losing Her (His #2)

Author: Mariah Dietz

Release Date: March 1

Find on Goodreads

“I loved her and she left. Maybe I wasn’t enough. Maybe I’ll never be enough.” I’ve been thinking these words since before we even got together.

Everything is new. The old no longer has a place here. Physical items are easy to replace. I’m constantly battling the ones that aren’t.

Every thought and memory I have is stained.

By you.

You weren’t even there for half of them.

How is she still present even though she left?

I can do this. I’m going to survive losing her.

*** This is the second book of the His Series, and it DOES end with a cliffhanger. The final book of the His Series, Finding Me, will release June 1, 2015***

“Dude, you’ve got to get up.” Jameson sighs as I pull the pillow back over my head. I don’t even know what day it is anymore. I don’t care.

What adds salt to my wounds is the fact that the world keeps turning. People continue waking up and going about their day. The sun rises and sets. I hear kids laugh and play, neighbors greet one another, and birds sing, and all the while I wonder how? How does the entire world appear to be surviving this nightmare of losing her?

Hank comes to visit in June. I still haven’t heard from Ace, and yet I’m still staying at my mom’s. I can’t leave. I can’t go back to that house. I’d moved rooms shortly after she left, and now reside in the guest room on the main floor. It’s better this way. There aren’t any pictures of her in here or random memories, like the one of her sitting on my bean bag chair when I was sick last summer. I also don’t have to face the window that looks out onto hers.

Hank knows that I know mom sent for him, hoping that he’d be able to “help” me. She of all people should know that having Hank around isn’t going to help me. He’s fucking married to the love of his life; he doesn’t have a fucking clue about the shit that I’m going through.

Of all things, Hank wants to go camping. I’m sure he thinks that getting away will help. He doesn’t understand that moving rooms has helped me realize I could go to Antarctica, and things wouldn’t change; the distance isn’t going to make the pain any less.

When we get camp set up, Hank opens a cooler and passes me a beer with a giant, shit-eating grin, like we’ve just overcome a huge hurdle. Deciding that I shouldn’t rain on his little douchebag tea party quite yet, I accept the beer with merely a grimace before taking a long swig. Before long, that single swig becomes a chug, and then a guzzle as I consume more alcohol than what three people probably should.

I sit by the fire and close my eyes. My mind automatically reaches back into that locked and forbidden drawer to pull out the image of Ace, striving to recall the sound of her laugh, the feel of her touch. It brings me back to our camping trip last September, when Jameson announced that was what he wanted to do for his birthday.

Sociopath: Legacy (Sociopath #2)

by Lime Craven

Genre: Dark Romance

Reach for the scars…

Remember me? Aeron Lore: happy and humble. A people person. All around nice guy.

Even I can’t say that with a straight face.

But seriously, things are going great. Leo’s behaving herself; I’m enjoying making sure she behaves. We’re a great team. SilentWitn3ss, our live-streaming news project, has launched to my favorite things ever: controversy and profit.

So when the FBI comes to me and wants to use SilentWitn3ss footage to trace a serial killer named Blood Honey, I’m only too happy to be superior—I mean, to help. And if Leo thinks the brutal Blood Honey and I have a few things in common, I guess that’s to be expected, given my rather unique preferences in the bedroom. My…condition.

But I’m not like him. I can’t stand that she would even think it.

If his actions threaten my relationship with Leo, I’ll hunt that fucker down myself.

If he gets too close for comfort, I will make him bleed—and trust me, he’s closer than I ever anticipated.

There’s a food chain, grasshoppers. The buck doesn’t stop with him. It stops with me. Blood Honey is a nasty son of a bitch, but I can be a lot worse. Question is…do I want to be?

I like dysfunction. Broken people who can’t fix each other, but fit together because they’re missing the same pieces. One of my favourite songs declares, “take the sinner down to feed desire,” and that’s my MO. I write dirty psychological thrillers with strong elements of dark romance.
I love antiheroes. Female characters who don’t just accept their faults, but downright exploit them. No nice boys. No shame. Mindfuckery for all.

The name’s Aeron Lore. And you are…? Such a pleasure to meet you, sweetheart. Is that a southern accent? Gorgeous.
You fucking bitch.
Why so surprised? I control a billion dollar fortune. I control the news. Give me five minutes and I’ll control you, too. If you could read my mind, you’d probably call me perverted. Unnatural. Manipulative. But I’ve learned to blend in, to be funny and charming. A predator in a designer suit.
I have no conscience. No shame in taking the things I want. And what I wanted was for Leontine Reeves to sell me her boutique tech firm so I could exploit the fuck out of it. Maybe exploit the fuck out of her, too, because desire haunts me in shades of scarlet, and I desire Leo most of all.
I never meant for this to be a love story. I fought it kicking and screaming, the same way Leo fought me. Now we’re bleeding into each other, making a mess. A chaos. There’s no control here. And what do monsters like me do when control leaves the building?
We attack.

The Hope That Starts (Double Blind Study #5) by Heidi Hutchinson ** Jodie’s Review **

If there’s one thing Zelda Fitzpatrick is good at, it’s fandom. She can out-geek the geekiest. Her devotion knows no bounds. Her love is true, her motives pure. Oh, and she’s also a talented freelance photographer, newly hired to go on the road with one of her favorite bands, Double Blind Study. All she has to do is not ruin this opportunity with her nerdy references (which are in abundance) or her devout klutziness. And she probably shouldn’t fall madly in love with lead guitarist, Harrison O’Neil… who is taken. Unfortunately.

Jodie's review

5 stars

So here I go again saying THIS IS MY FAVORITE, I’m a book whore these things happen!!!  But hands down I could not put this book down once I started it and I might have tried to claim I was sick at work just so I could get in some Harrison and Zelda in the bathroom!  It happens don’t judge me.  You know those books you just have to know the ending and you contemplate reading said ending but you don’t because you love all the feelings you are feeling.  THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS WITH THIS BOOK!!

“On a scale of one to Tolkien, you’re Minas Tirith at dawn.”

It’s Nerd Love and I LOVED IT!!!  Harrison and Zelda are just as perfect as I hoped they would be!!  Their cute on that level that they don’t know they are perfect.  They are that sweet couple you watched from afar and wished you could experience.  And when these two say I love you, I swear I felt like that girl in high school the first time I experienced the words.  IT WAS PERFECTION!!

“Was it possible to swoon when you were already laying down?”

I am not lying I was in bed swooning!!  But truly that is what Heidi accomplished with each book in this series, with each book I fall more and more in love and with each book I swear it can’t get any better but each time it does.   I truly recommend this book to anyone that loves a beautifully touching love story and for those who don’t need a lot of sex but like to have a deep connection with the characters.  BONUS if you have a little inner nerd girl this one is for you!!!

“I’ve been looking for you my whole life,” he whispered.  “I’m sorry it took me so long to find you.”

Heidi Hutchinson was born in South Dakota and raised the exact right distance away from the Black Hills. She had an overactive imagination very early on, and wasted no time in getting most of her friends in trouble due to her unrealistic and completely ridiculous ideas. Seeing as she was so lazy and also afraid people would think she was bonkers, she didn’t write down any of the story lines that played out in her daydreams.

During her high school years, she took pen to paper and filled more notebooks than she is proud of with angsty, depressing, self-deprecating poetry. This led to her writing down more things: notes, ideas, character bios, plot twists that had no plot yet to twist. After years of cleaning up her own scraps of imagination with nothing solid to hold on to, she sat down and wrote the story that had been in her head the longest. Fueled by coffee and her unwavering and perfectly normal devotion to Dave Grohl, she discovered a writer living inside of her.

She still lives in the Midwest, though not as close to the Black Hills as she would prefer, with her alarmingly handsome husband and their fearless child. They eat more pizza than God intended and she listens to her music the same way she lives: loudly.

Mending Michael (Hunter Hill University #2) by J.P. Grider ** Josie’s Review **

There is a fine line between love and hate.

When bartender Mick Ross first sees Holly Buchanan walk into Donny’s Bar, his heart comes to a halt. That is, until she serves him her fake ID and reveals her true nature when she’s declined her drink.

Holly thinks Mick is an ass, and she has no clue why he can’t stand her. Though, she does enjoy looking at his ass.

So, when Donny hires Holly to waitress at his bar, she must either deal with Mick’s hatred toward her or give him a taste of his own medicine.

Tensions are high.
Comments are made.
Hearts are hurt.
But if there really is a fine line between love and hate, then Mick and Holly must decide on which side they stand.

Josie's review

4 stars

Mending Michael was such a freshening story and the character development was nice and enjoyable. I love a story that has a slow build up to love. One that has funny banter, some angst and a lot of frustration and this one certainly delivered on that. The author deals with some drug dependence and alcohol issues that are real things people struggle with. When I first started this book it really grabbed my attention and I honestly was invested throughout the novel. I enjoyed the back and forth banter between Michael and Holly. They were funny, witty and spicy. There was no denying the two not only disliked each other but they were also attracted to one another.

Michael has a complicated family life. His sister has a drug problem and because of that he has taken temporary custody of his sister’s daughter Kenna until his sister can get the help she needs. Working and living above a bar is not the best life for this little girl but Michael will do anything for his niece. While handling the problem with his family his boss Donny hires a new waitress, Holly. Mike is shocked to see the woman working the bar. The very woman that pushed all his buttons. This is where his problems really start. Not only does he have to deal with Holly every night but also his ex-girlfriend who he’s asked to help him with Kenna. Mike might not like Holly but he sure is attracted to her. I loved seeing how he had dirty thoughts about Holly and how much she really affected him.

Holly’s character is really funny. She comes from a well off family but her father really tries to control her life. She wants to work and do what she wants but he expects her to work for him and the family business. Holly doesn’t need to work but wants to have some kind of independence so she takes a job at the local bar. She is aware that Michael is a bartender at night but she is such a feisty and sassy person that she does not let it bother her. As soon as the two starts working together the bickering begins and Holly gives just as good as Mike dishes out. Honestly they bicker so much that it seriously is like a form of foreplay for them.

Mike’s custody issue with his niece comes to head since he only filed for temporary custody. The problem is, Mike does not have the best history or lifestyle and his family life is not ideal. Mike is shattered when child-services removes Kenna from his care, he starts to drink heavily. Holly feels bad so she offers to help Mike fight for Kenna. Mike is not a nice person when he is drunk so he really doesn’t make it easy for anyone to really help him. When he does give in and accept the help that was offered the two of them become closer. Mike is fighting demons and trying to get his life together. Holly and Mike know there is something growing between them, so they promise to be patient and see where things go.

Can Mike get his life together before losing the woman that captured his heart? Will Mike lose Kenna if he doesn’t get his life together in time? Will Kenna continue to wait for Mike even though he can’t promise her love? This book is a quick read. One that will keep you frustrated, laughing and wanting more. I loved the realness in this book and how each character knew what they were really feeling but wanted to get thing in order before bringing another person down. This book is a stand-alone and I wasn’t sure what would happen until the very end, and I loved it.

motorcyle_all layers_WHITE_title

Damon curled his fingers into fists to keep from pulling Ava into his arms and stripping her naked.

Females usually kept their distance. But no, not Ava. Instead of heeding the danger and staying away, she leaned in and sniffed him.

His gaze dropped to her parted lips. All he could think about was sinking his teeth into her flesh as he drove himself, balls deep, inside her body until she cried out his name.

“I’m nothing but trouble.” It came out as a growl, as he leaned closer.

She blushed as she met his gaze, yet still didn’t move away.

His gaze drifted down to her breasts. Her hard nipples pressing against the thin material of the T-shirt made his dick swell and ache. Lust fueled his brain until all he could see and smell was her.

His mind went blank, leaving only animal instinct. If she insisted on playing with fire, then he was going to light the match.

He wrapped his hand around her waist and tugged her against his chest. His mouth covered hers, dominating and hard, claiming her full attention.

He thrust his tongue inside her hot, sweet, mouth, kissing her hard and deep. His mind became dizzy with how sexy she tasted. If he kissed her for an eternity, he still wouldn’t quench his thirst.

He braced himself, expected any minute for her hands to shove against his chest and push him away. How the hell was he going to let her go when all he wanted to do was keep her close?

Her hands slid up his shoulders. He tensed, waiting for her to stop him.

Instead, she did the unexpected.

She dug her fingers into his shoulders, clinging and pulling him closer.

Stunned, he opened his eyes. Her green gaze was glued on his as she kissed him back, their tongues mating in an intimate dance. His body ached as she ground her pelvis against his rock-hard erection, nothing but the thin T-shirt stopping him from actually pressing between her thighs.

Her tongue stroked in and out of his mouth as she laced her fingers behind his neck, tightening her hold.

Fighting for a future with Jason won’t be easy, but for the first time since her parents’ deaths, this lost soul might have finally found a place that feels like home.

Bonus Scene

 Retold from Jason’s POV

Annie reaches down and touches my hair with one hand and covers her eyes with the other. Her breathing deepens as she fights for air and I fight for her orgasm. I need to see her come. I continue with my tongue and she arches away from me. I pull her back to my mouth, not letting her go. She will be mine forever. She writhes and presses her thighs against the sides of my head and I lick her swollen lips one last time as she succumbs. I’m sure I could keep her here, on this kitchen table, for the rest of our lives. Her chest rises, her eyes still covered, and I can barely recall how angry I was at her a few days ago.

“Let’s take a bath,” I say, wanting to forget the past few weeks, and her trip to New Orleans…and her complete unwillingness to value her safety. “It’ll make you feel better.”

I take her hand and help her off the table. She follows me to the bathroom without a word. She’s always so tranquil after she comes—serene, not questioning a thing, not remembering what’s lost. I turn on the hot water and plug the tub. There’s a jar labeled “bath salts” with a scoop on the shelf. It smells like vanilla. I toss the scoop on the counter and pour a shot of salts into the water.

“Where’s your lighter?” she asks.

“You gonna start smokin’?” I tease, but stop short of making a crack pipe comment.

“To light a candle,” she says, exasperated.

“I’ll do it. You get in while it’s hot.”

I line the candles up on the counter and light them one-by-one. Annie doesn’t move from the mirror. She runs her hands across her bruised skin until she shudders. It’s the evidence of a thousand needs only she can satisfy. Usually it’s my fault. No matter how many times I tell myself to be gentle, as soon as she’s near me I lose control. This time though, these bruises are her doing. I wanted to talk. She wanted this.

Her eyes follow her hands over her breasts and down to her waist. I drop the lighter and turn off the lights. Her skin glows ethereal in the candlelight, but she still stares in the mirror, gliding her fingertips across the bruises on the inside of her thighs. I cover her hand with my own.

“Get in the tub,” I whisper in her ear.

She climbs in. Sometimes, when she listens without arguing, I forget how stubborn she is, how she can infuriate me more than anyone else walking this earth. Annie lowers herself until she touches the water and then pulls back up.

“Too hot?”

“I just need a second to get used to it,” she says. She rests her arms on the sides and sinks in, laying her head on the edge. I watch until the peace returns to her face and then undress myself.

I reach to change the music. Her taste is abysmal. But the lyrics grab my attention. They hint at a love affair with the devil. I drop my arm to my side and turn back to Annie. She looks like an angel, but she drags me through hell.

“I feel beautiful when you look at me.” Me, and every other man on the planet.

“You are beautiful, Annie. Surely you know that. I’ve heard you told a hundred times before.”

“Understanding the way others view my appearance and the way I feel when you look at me are two totally different things.” I climb into the tub and rest her legs on each side of my waist. I run my hands up and down them. My dick’s hard in the water and I force my mind to concentrate on the fact that she’s sore, that her body needs a break.

“What else do you feel when I look at you?” I’ve never had to ask before. Annie couldn’t hide a thing from me, but these last few weeks my misery has replaced assuredness. If she can hop in a car to Mardi Gras without telling me, I’m no longer sure what she’s capable of.

“I thought you didn’t want me to think about us,” she says, reminding me of the weeks following her parents’ death. She tortured herself with her mind. Every waking hour, every moment of sleep.

“That was then.” Now I need to know everything. I lean forward and run my hand up the inside of her thigh and she closes her eyes and surrenders to my touch.

“Transparent,” she says, and I swear her voice is inside my head. “Alive. Condemned.” She opens her eyes, waiting for some response, but I have only understanding. When she called from New Orleans, it was like a life sentence—incapable of finding her, waiting to hear she was safe, wanting to kill her myself. If something happens to her…

“Wanted. Safe.” Her words pull me from the horror. “I feel like nothing bad can happen to me if I’m with you.” Which is why you should be with me. I rest her foot on my shoulder and wash her leg with a sponge.

“It scares me, the control you have over me.” At this I laugh out loud. How ironic.

“That’s interesting because it’s the complete lack of control that keeps me awake at night,” I say, wishing she didn’t drive me so insane. I place her leg back in the water and raise the other one. Her legs should be wrapped around my neck every day. The familiar need mixed with anger and frustration returns and I bury it down deep. This can’t become an argument.

“What are you going to do after graduation?” I ask. On my list of things I’m not leaving Cedar Creek Lake without settling, the end of her Rutgers career is at the top. I run the sponge down her calf with my lips following it, reminding her of where her future is.

“I’m just getting used to the idea I’m back in school. I haven’t considered after. It’s common to have a Masters in Statistics. Maybe I’ll do that.”

“So common.”

“Probably not as common as Philosophy majors.” She smiles and watches my lips return to her leg. “What are you going to do?” she asks, and the smile drains from her face.

“I won’t graduate for another year.”

“Light credits, especially in the spring. Makes it easier to miss four days a week at rodeos.” The statement separates us, even in this tub. The rodeo is like a curse word she hates to use.

“Do you ever think it would be easier to date a girl from Oklahoma?”

“Every day you’re away I think it.” And every minute you’re doing drugs, and every time I see the way guys look at you, and every walk home late at night you take, and every mile you drove to New Orleans. But the thought of another girl is ridiculous. I half-laugh as I say, “They’re close. I could have them every day. They understand rodeo.”

“They have dirty shoes,” she plays along.

“They listen to good music.” Annie lowers her eyes to the bubbles and I lose her for a second. Her green eyes filled with doubt, hidden from the one person who’s incapable of hurting her. I slide forward and lift her head. “No matter what, I can’t get past they’re not you. You’re in my blood and I’ll never let you go.”

“Condemnation.” Oh, you have no idea.

I turn her around and pull her back to my chest. The sponge in my hand runs down her neck and around her breasts. Here, in this tub in the middle of Texas, it’s impossible to think we can’t make this work.

“Close your eyes and, if you promise not to use it against me, I’ll tell you why I love you,” I say in her ear. Her head falls back on my shoulder and I kiss her neck.

“I promise.”

“I love you, Annie, because when most girls would fall apart, you get pissed off. You don’t understand the concept of surrender.” She smiles at my words and floats up, arching her back at my touch. “And you can’t be tamed.” I pull her back to me. “And yet I’ve never met someone with a greater ability to see the good in people. You are the perfect mix of courage and mercy.” I stop. Unsure of how far I should take this, but the question has been pounding in my head since I left Stillwater. If we’re going to make it, we’ll have to be together. I run the sponge to her belly button and back up. My lips graze her neck and slide to her ear.

“Come to Oklahoma, Annie.” She stiffens in my arms. I should regret asking her, but I don’t.

“Haven’t we been over this?” Steady…

“Not now. Spend the summer there with me and then move there after you graduate. Spend my senior year with me.” She’s silent, searching her mind right in front of me. I know it’s not where she belongs, but it’s where I need her to be. And I’m selfish enough to ask her, knowing she’s generous enough to come.

“I’ll go. I’ll spend the summer there and if it works, I’ll move there after graduation.”

“You will?” I yank her around. Her answer shouldn’t surprise me the way it does. I realize now, a part of me feared this might be our last weekend together. A part of me I don’t allow myself to hear.

“On one condition.” She’s strong, and bold, and I stop breathing. Fuck.

“I would say anything, but it’s you so I’ll just ask what the condition is.”

“You’ve got to back off of me for the next year.” I’m a scolded child. One who doesn’t think they’re wrong. “Trust my instincts. Believe that I’m surrounding myself with good people. Give me some credit.”

“Annie, you have to admit your behavior is a little scary.” I plead with her to hear some reason.

“I live smack dab between Philadelphia and New York City. If I want a tranny hooker dressed as a nurse to deliver an eight ball of cocaine to me, I can get it in an hour.” God, I hate her sometimes. “I’m fine. I will get high. I might try ’shrooms. I’ll most definitely stay up too late and possibly not drink enough fluids, but I’m going to be okay. You have to trust me.”

I say nothing. A million contentions flying through my mind. She’s a danger to herself in an unsafe city. Backing off is not possib—

“You make me want to lie to you about what I do,” she says, and it could not have felt worse if she punched me in the face…again. She’s never lied to me.

I lean back in the tub shaking my head in defeat.

“All right. I’ll try.”

About The Author

Eliza Freed graduated from Rutgers University and returned to her hometown in rural South Jersey. Her mother encouraged her to take some time and find herself. After three months of searching, she began to bounce checks and her neighbors began to talk; her mother told her to find a job.

She settled into Corporate America, learning systems and practices and the bureaucracy that slows them. Eliza quickly discovered her creativity and gift for story telling as a corporate trainer and spent years perfecting her presentation skills and studying diversity. It’s during this time she became an avid observer of the characters we meet and the heartaches we endure. Her years of study have taught her laughter is the key to survival, even when it’s completely inappropriate.
She currently lives in New Jersey with her family and a misbehaving beagle named Odin. An avid swimmer, if Eliza is not with her family and friends, she’d rather be underwater. While she enjoys many genres, she has always been a sucker for a love story…the more screwed up the better.

I know what you’re thinking. It’s unconventional to want a man nine years older than you. It’s inconvenient to crush on your dearest friend’s older brother. It’s silly to pine after a man for six years. It’s cliché to lust after a celebrity. It’s pathetic to fall in love with a man who barely knows you exist.

I know what you’re thinking because I’ve thought it all, too. And yet that hasn’t stopped me from wanting Blake Campbell. Charming, gorgeous, brilliant, kind, selfless – Blake is everything I’ve ever wanted, but he doesn’t see me that way. In fact, he hardly noticed me until one night.

Traumatic events brought us together for the first time, but then he tossed me aside. I know it’s irrational, but I wanted him up until the moment he left me lying there alone.

When his eyes finally open and he finds out I’ve left, will it be too late?

4.5 stars

Pressure Point by Olivia Luck is such a beautifully written story about falling in love at first sight. I absolutely love reading this story about an innocent love that transcends time and friendship. This story has angst, tragedy and a male character that will fight for what his heart feels at all costs. Ladies get your tissues ready because you will laugh, get angry, swoon and cry but it is all worth it.

Stella fell in love with Blake Campbell at the age of 20. She is the RA of the college dorms where Blake drops off his sister Zoe. Zoe and Stella would become the best of friends over the years. The two are extremely close and share a lot but throughout the years Stella has never told her how she feels about Blake.

Blake Campbell is wealthy for a man that is only 29 years old. After his parents death he became responsible for his sister Zoe. Blake is extremely possessive and devoted to his sister. He barely sees Stella because of his work schedule but he has strong feelings for her. He has not felt for a woman the way he feels whenever she is around Zoe. Of course the only thing he feels like he can do is to ignore her and push the thoughts away.

“My lips automatically curve into a smile at the thought of Stella. Zoe’s eleven years younger than I am. Instinctively, I know it’s wrong. But I can’t help but notice how cute little Stella is, not to mention that she’s older than Zoe. That melodic voice sends a jolt straight to the part of my body that shouldn’t notice her.”

After graduating college Stella and Zoe remain close friends so close that they are like sisters. After tragedy strikes at Zoe’s school the two of them begin to drift from one another. Zoe becomes depressed and doesn’t want to see anyone. Even though Stella tries to be there for Zoe, she makes her leave. Stella is devastated and she and Blake turn to each other for support. That night Stella sees Blake in a different light and no longer thinks he’s that guy that she fantasied about. Blake made her feel worthless and she has had enough.

“For 6 years, I have imagined Blake as the guy for me. Today, he showed me, I don’t know what he showed me, but whatever it was that I saw hurt tremendously   If I don’t see Blake again for a year that will be soon enough for me.”

After not seeing each other for a while, Blake sees Stella again. He knows the way he treated her was wrong and that she means more to him that he could ever imagine. Blake is shocked that the once pleasant Stella is no longer willing to give him the time of day. He has his work cut out for him but he knows Stella is worth it.

“Stella, a word? It seems that I need more than a singular word to get through to you. Snow White.”

“There’s no getting through to anything, Blake. You showed all of your cards last month.”

“I won’t stop, Stella. This is going to happen and we are going to do it right. That night last month, I don’t regret what happened between us because I wanted you. I still want you, but not that rushed bullsh*t.”

Stella and Blake will fall into a beautiful relationship. One that neither ever thought was imaginable. However, Blake’s constant need to protect his sister and put her above everyone else causes problems and might tear them apart forever. Blake wants to keep his relationship with Stella a secret from Zoe for the time being since she is suffering from depression. Stella is forced to make a decision and it could cost her the man she loves. How much can a woman be taken for granted?

“I’ve always been in awe of you, Blake. Because of that, I’ve put you on a pedestal, I thought that I was lucky that you choose me, but I’ve come to realize that we’re lucky to have each other, I’m just as much of a catch as you.

This is happening, Stella, don’t Fight me.”

How many times can Blake say he is sorry for his actions before Stella finally has had enough? Will Blake be able to finally put Stella needs above his own? Can Stella forgive Blake for making her feel like she means nothing to him? This story is powerful with disappointment and heartache. I cried a lot of times during Blake and Stella’s story. It was heart wrenching a times but there were also swoon worthy moments. It truly was just so beautifully written. I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series will bring.

They say life is about choices. You spend your life making decisions and dealing with the consequences, whether they are positive or negative. In my tumultuous frame of mind, I make a choice. A very poorly thought out choice, but one that I have to live with, nevertheless.

As soon as Cassidy finishes her encore, I tell the girls that we’re going backstage to meet the singer. They follow behind the private elevator to the lower level of the Chi Center, talking giddily. I push their voices out of my mind, leading them with long, purposeful strides.

There are perks to owning the joint. The security guards clear the way for me, knowing not to bother me when I’m in a foul mood.
With a short knock, I push my way into Cassidy’s crowded backstage room. The moment she lays her fake-eyelash covered gaze on me, she squeals. The sound hurts my ears, but I pretend it doesn’t.

“Blake Campbell, I didn’t know you were coming back here!” She literally launches herself at me, latching her over tanned arms around my neck and thrusting her glitter-speckled tits against my chest.

And then, in plain sight of Stella, I yank the pop star into my arms and thrust my tongue down her throat.

You are a moron.

Shanyn's review

4 stars

Ryan Michele did not let me down with this second book in the series! I LOVE MC books, and I could not put this book down. The fire and chemistry between Blaze and Tug is amazing, and Tug’s alpha-male attitude is sexy as hell!!

Blaze ran from home years ago, and ended up at “X”, the strip club owned by the Ravage MC. She lives her life not getting close to anyone, because she might have to leave at anytime. If her stepfather and stepbrother find her, she will have to run. She can never forget the things they did to her, and will make sure she is never found by them again!

Tug is an MC prospect. He saw Blaze a year ago, when he first started prospecting, and he has thought about her since that day. Even though, she won’t give him any of her time, he hasn’t given up. He plans to make her his one day, and the Ravage MC men always get what they want.

“Blaze and I have been playing this cat and mouse game for the past few months. Her taunting me from on stage, her beckoning eyes, everything calling to me, drawing me in. One time, she came out on the floor of X and talked to me briefly. Her hulk of a guard, Cali, stayed glued to her side the entire time. She was short and to the point with me, not giving me a fucking inch, and damn did it turn me on.”

Blaze is attracted to Tug, but she knows she can’t get close to anyone. There is no point in getting attached to someone, when you are going to have to leave them one day. She has me feeling horrible for her. Living a life alone, and trying not to get attached to anyone.   Ryan Michele had me completely understanding Blaze’s situation, and living in her head.

“God, that man is gorgeous, like he should be modeling in some biker magazine for the world to see, gorgeous. His shoulder-length dark hair and smoldering chocolate eyes lure me in every time. Damn man. It’s getting harder and harder to escape the fog that seems to envelop me each time he’s around.”

Blaze finally gives in to the chemistry she feels for Tug, and they are HOT together!!! The sex scenes are so alpha-male!

“Honey, I’m not throwing you up against the wall and fucking your brains out until you beg for it.”

“Before you start thinking, this was something. It means something to me and you are not just another fuck. Get it through your head now.”

When Blaze is finally found, she wants to run, but Tug and the MC won’t let her. They make her stay, and promise to protect her. She learns that she does have a “family” in the MC.

“God dammit, Blaze. Tell me what the fuck has you running. And running from me? I won’t let you leave. I don’t give a shit if I have to lock you up at the club. I’ll do it. You are not fucking leaving……Tell me now!”

Things get angsty when her stepfather and stepbrother finally come for her.

I was so enthralled in this book, just like all the others in this series. I didn’t put the kindle down, I kept saying “just one more page…..just one more page….” I loved it! Blaze and Tug were amazing together, and this book is a definite must read!

author bio

Ryan Michele has a huge obsession with reading, which only came to life after her best friend said she had to read Twilight. After reading that series, her entire world changed in the blink of an eye. Not only was she sucked into new worlds and all of the wonderful words authors put down on paper, she felt the urge to begin to write down the characters that played inside of her head. In doing so, Safe was born. Then Wanting You, Ravage Me currently Seduce Me.

When she’s not reading or writing, she spends time taking care of her two children and her husband, enjoying the outdoors and laying in the sun.
