Dove Glitch is embarrassed about everything above her knees and below her belly button. When she has to fill a delicate, embarrassing prescription the last thing she needs is a sexy-as-hell (and brand spanking new) pharmacist behind the counter.

Johnson Fitzwell’s first day of his dream career also happens to coincide with the exact moment Dove needs her feminine meds filled. His glorious voice is way too loud–as in, he should be counting down the hits with Ryan Seacrest kind of loud. Thanks to Johnson’s handsome face and gorgeous jaw line, Dove dives headlong into her waking nightmare and asks for a vagina-scented cream.

How could she not fall for him? Dove’s only active goal now is to get Johnson to kiss her right on the lips. Either set. However, his horrible girlfriend is one of many obstacles preventing her from making that fantasy a reality. When Dove defends Johnson in the most unhygienic, unconventionally gross way in the middle of a crowded restaurant, their tender, slightly tantric relationship is off to a galloping, farting start.

Each print copy of this book will be dipped in holy water by my mom, and glared at by my father as he purses his lips. Neither will help. So, drop your pants and turn to the left and cough. I hope you’re not allergic to latex, because it’s time to fill your prescription. Anally.

Oh God. We’re talking about me being naked, in the shower with cooter cream. Please world, end. Kill me.
“I know it’s not soap. I just… if it’s scented… I can’t do scented. Flowers and stuff like that. Fruit-flavored soaps make… things… burnish.” She could tell from the
peeks at his face Mr. Fitzwell had never stepped foot in bath and lotion store, wanting to try the array of fun fragrances. Nor had he purchased Peppermint Candy shower gel, foamed up his nether regions, and felt like he had dipped them in lava. Dove crossed and uncrossed her legs at the memory.
Mr. Fitzwell seemed concerned. “Okay, just a heads-up. It’s definitely not good to put any fruits or plant life near your genitals.” He made a V with his hands and formed his own pretend vagina in front of his pants.
Dove covered her eyes and tried to defend herself because now she could hear the sickly older woman beating her supporters with a purse.
Dove’s mumbling got louder with her embarrassment. “I don’t put weird things down… there. Just make sure that the cream’s vagina-scented. Just plain. For vaginas.” She kept her eyes on the counter.

4 stars

Fire Down Below- 4 I actually, sort of enjoy this stars…..what is wrong with me!!!!!!

I have no clue what I’ve just read!!! This was a mix of vagina laughs and inappropriate comments with bad and embarrassing moments- one after another. “Jesus fancy pants. You’re a train wreck. Let’s put a bullet in this nightmare.” But, at no point did I want to stop reading. This total epic title for the ‘I have no words’ read. In all honesty I did enjoy the full belly laughs Dove and Johnson gave me. Speaking of Johnson, what a great name for a character, especially with many unfortunate laughable happenings.

His Adam’s apple was like his throat’s erection. Dominant.

He was just as doomed as she was in the awkwardness. Every time they met up something happen. It was bound to- destiny.

I enjoyed the first chapter immensely, the full on improper meeting of the two main characters. It really set the mood for the entire book. This is my only real big complaint. This book opened up and it went, never giving up and never getting a break from the comedy. At times, I really wanted a break from the constant one liners. Although, a lot of them were extremely funny, after a while they didn’t stand out as it did in the beginning. This did make me skim… but only a little bit. It was so much funny that it wasn’t actually funny anymore.

“Just make sure that the cream’s vagina-scented. Just plain. For vaginas.”

But, in the reading world, it was nice to let loose and not have to figure out what the big catch is. The only catch is that Dove is shy, quirky, but she is original. She comes to life behind her computer and that is really where I started loving her. When certain replies came in you could tell how she treasured the sweetness.

“I put a bunch o horrible hair-removing cream on my p*ssy. That’s why it smells so bad in here. I wanted to be her. I never, ever am. I’m the one girl out a thousand that gets crapped on by a seagull while waiting in line for a tour of the Statue of Liberty. I’m the girl that trips and has her boob fall out of her top in front of the mechanics when I’m vacuuming my car at the gas station. I’m the girl that says yes to an amazing man and tries to be anything but herself when he comes to her door.

The time spent in twitter communication was my favorite in the romance area. The ease of hiding behind that big screen kept the charm strong. Things were all different when they were face to face. Neither of them being well known to the romantic scene but they both give it a hardy try. Even when they give the gung-ho, let’s do this they stayed true to their awkward being. Down to the core.

“I knew that frog position was too freaky. I’m sorry.”

“It’s not that, Johnson. Did you notice that like every third thrust I was like a virgin? That was my a**hole.”

“Great. I gave you unwanted anal. That’s what I get for reading all those sexual expertise books. I just wanted to be memorable for you. Different. And now I am for all the wrong reasons.”

And what’s better than one funny book? 2!!! There will be more to this duo!!!

There are a lot of eyes in Debra Anastasia’s house in Maryland. First, her own creepy peepers are there, staring at her computer screen. She’s made two more sets of eyes with her body, and the kids they belong to are amazing. The poor husband is still looking at her after 17 years of marriage. At least he likes to laugh. Then the freaking dogs are looking at her—six eyeballs altogether, though the old dog is blind. And the
cat watches her too, mostly while knocking stuff off the counter and doing that internal kitty laugh when Deb can’t catch the items fast enough.

Debra has a smattering of books in a few genres. There are two in the Seraphim Series and three in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series with a prequel, Poughkeepsie Begins in the near future. Fire Down Below is the first in the comedic Gynzaule Series. The second, Fire in the Hole, will be published in late 2015. The Revenger, a dark paranormal romance will debut this summer. And last, a novella called Late Night with Andres is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. (So go get

Debbie's review

4.5 stars

“The Problem with heartache is no two wounds feel the same. One can cut you, fester, infect and slowly destroy you from the inside out. It can loiter and eat away at your soul, bit by bit, day by day. Then you can learn to trust again. You can fall, and you can think you have it under control, that things will be different, but then the knife strikes once more. And while you think you’ve already experienced the worst pain possible? You haven’t. And the second wound hurts like a bitch.”

This is the third book in this series but the continuation of Kate’s story. I have loved every one of these books in this series. Just like the other two books before this one the author did not disappoint. I was drawn in from the beginning and devoured this book.

Kate has had a hard time dealing with the loss of her boyfriend Lachlan. She has a hard time accepting that he is gone and thinks that if she moves on she will forget about him and no longer honor his memory.

When Lee Collins comes back into her life and offers her a job on the road with his band. She hesitates at first but finally accepts it.

“ I had a feeling that sitting that close to Lee-freaking-Collins could possible result in me trying to punch him in the junk for insulting us with his handout offer.”

I loved the banter between Lee and Kate. Both of them were hard headed and had their own skeletons in their closet but still knew how to push each other’s buttons. You could totally feel the chemistry between these two. I found myself a few times wanting to crawl inside my kindle and smack the crap out of both of them for not opening up to each other and allowing their past to rule their future.

Lee was hot as hell but also had a super sweet side. He always wanted to help out anyone he could. Lee had a huge dark secret and even though I sort of figured it out ½ way through the book I loved how the author put a spin on it.

“Don’t be the creepy guy in the park who licks a stranger’s cleavage.”

“By all accounts, she should smell like ass. But no. Apples.”

Kate started off strong but about ½ way through she was starting to get on my nerves with the poor me stuff. In the end she redeemed herself and I liked her again.

The book flowed fantastically. I truly love the authors writing style and how she makes the characters come alive. The secondary characters were amazing. I really hope the author has plans to write a book about Xander. I would love to get into his head.

“And that was the problem with heartache. That sometimes, even though Lee had wanted to find one, there wasn’t an ache at all. Not for us. Not ever.”

Carrie

I’ve been in love with Jacob Blake since he picked me up in his strong arms. He held me close and promised me everything would be okay. I knew then, I had met the man who would own my heart forever.

I was five years old.

As the years went by, the need and longing for Jacob only increased—at least on my side. Jacob has never seen me as more than his kid sister’s best friend.

I’ve spent my life chasing after Jacob and trying to make him see I’m more than just his sister’s little friend. I never dreamed that by trying to show Jacob how much I loved him, I would also destroy him.

One night…one night that held so much promise, but ultimately destroyed the man I love and broke him in so many pieces, that I don’t know if he can be mended back together.

Jacob “Dancer” Blake

I’m finally home. Out of the hell hole I had been trapped in since killing another man. With the thrust of my knife everything changed.

That night I ended two lives, the scum who had been trying to rape my little sister’s friend… and my own. The other man got the easier out. I live and breathe in a hell I’ll never escape.

My brothers look at me with pity in their eyes. It cuts my insides out.

There’s trouble in the club, trouble all around us and I have to get my head straight. I have to be able to help them. Trouble is, I can’t even help myself. I just keep piling the mistakes up.

Carrie just might be my biggest mistake yet.

Now it’s another night that’s haunting me–a night that I keep repeating even if I shouldn’t.

I’m so trapped in the darkness that I can’t stop myself from going back because she is light.

She wants to save me. You can’t save something as lost as I am.

I’m going to destroy her.

I’ve warned her. Now I’ll show her.

Beth's Review

4 stars

I first fell in love with Julian and Alexa’s story a few months ago after reading both Stay and Hold On so to say I have been anxiously awaiting Promise Me is definitely an understatement. The Alexa Reed series is a really great angst filled series that will have you not wanting to put your kindle down, except for the times you want it to throw it from frustration with these two.

This third and final book in The Alexa Reed series picks up right where we left off in Hold On so if you have not read the first two, stop right now and read no further as this review will contain spoilers. We pick up the morning after Julian had found out he isn’t the father of Caroline’s baby and in his time of pain he turns to the one person he truly loves, Alexa. They have found their way back to each other and have reconciled but after everything that has happened between these two, there is a lot of hurt feelings and it will take time to build back the trust they one had in their love and in each other. Alexa and Julian are different people now with everything that has happened and they must find a way to get back to the love they once shared. But Lexi has a secret from when they were apart that she knows she must tell Julian, but it also may mean the end to them ever being together.

I really loved Alexa’s character in this book. She’s been such a needy person who always ran when things got hard but from the moment she made the decision to go back to Julian, even when the whole baby issue still in play, she became a much stronger character. She was there for Julian when he needed her most and when there were so many times she would have gave up and ran in the past, she stayed, dug her feet in and fought for what she wanted, she fought for Julian. There were still moments that she had her “old Lexi” moments of insecurity but she really came a long way from the Lexi we first met in Stay.

Julian is still very hot, sexy and totally swoon worthy Julian but we see a different side to him, a more vulnerable side. He still loves Alexa but has a hard time letting her back and going back to they once had. She was his everything, his whole world came to revolve around her so when she walked away from him, she hurt him badly. He’s apprehensive about letting her fully back in, he doesn’t trust that she is back for good and she won’t run again when things get hard. I also found we saw a much meaner harsher side of him. He’s always been loving and caring towards Alexa but at times in this book, he was downright mean and cruel to her with his words and actions towards her. I wouldn’t have blamed her for running.

Overall this was a really great conclusion to their story that I really enjoyed. I really like that from the start Alexa knew she had to come clean with Julian for them to move on, that she couldn’t lie to him and keep it a secret, she loved him too much to do that to him. And I really liked that even though it took time for her to finally tell him, he heard the truth from her and didn’t find out from someone else, which always seems to be the norm of how the truth comes to light. I also really enjoyed how when they did reconcile, that things didn’t go back to being perfect and rosy with these two, again which is usually what happens in most books. There was a lot of hurt that happened, things said and even though apologies are made and accepted, it takes time to heal all that hurt. I loved the angst that was going on between these two but I will say at times, the constant tug-a-war between these two tended to drag on for me. I must also add how much I loved the ending, it truly shows why Julian is such an amazing character and perfect BBF. I would have liked to seen an epilogue that would have shown 6 or 12 months at least down the road and not having the book finish right where it did end. I feel like I am not fully satisfied and left wanting to know what came of things, I don’t want to say anything further about what was left up in the air for me or I will spoil the ending. I am hoping that the author has left that out and is planning on giving us more Julian and Alexa but as supporting characters in Danny’s book, I would really love to see his story.

Promise Me – Clean Excerpt © Hilary Wynne 2015

“Ever since you fell onto me in the stairwell, I’ve been unable to get a grip on how I’m feeling. I feel out of control and I fucking hate it.”

I can’t help but laugh even though he’s being serious. I smile down at him. “It’s called falling in love. Or being in love, and I’m glad you feel it too. I’ve been an emotional basket case since I fell on you in the staircase, and am glad it’s not just me. I spend my days feeling a little out of control. It only really gets better when I’m in your arms. That’s where I find my peace, and my balance.”

Julian sits up and turns to face me. He pulls me in for the night’s first kiss, and it’s tender and loving. “You make me feel everything, Alexa Reed. Todo. After Caroline left today, I wanted to call you. When I feel out of control I want to be near you. I stopped needing people a long time ago and you changed that. I need you.”

The kiss that started out tender turns more and more passionate as Julian pours his feelings into it. Somehow I end up under him, his body blanketing mine. We’re holding onto each other as tightly as possible. It’s one of those moments we often share, when we’re both trying to become one. I needed this from him. I need to know he still needs me.

“I love you. So much.”

“I love you too. And I’m sorry I have been giving you such a hard time the last few days. I know I haven’t been very easy to deal with.”

I pull away from his embrace for a minute so I can look him in the eyes. “Please don’t apologize for how you feel, or act. You’re amazing. You have a lot on your plate and it would be very unfair of me to expect you to just act like everything is the same as before. I just want you to love me. That’s all.”

Julian kisses my forehead, then my eyelids, and finishes with a gentle kiss on my lips. “I could never not love you. You’re in my heart, mi amor, para siempre.”

Promise Me – Sexy Excerpt © Hilary Wynne 2015

My whole body tenses
as she walks by me, and as soon as she passes the threshold, I shut the door
and lock it. I turn and face Julian and see he has the nerve to be laughing. I
walk over to his desk, push his chair back, hike my skirt up and climb onto his
lap. I put my lips on his and run my tongue across the seam of his lips. “It’s
not funny. I don’t like her and she wants to fuck you. Don’t argue with me
about it either because I know girls, and she’s so obvious with that outfit.
I’m not going to let it ruin my night because I’m the one here with you right
now and you’re going to fuck me, or I’m going to fuck you.”
I can’t remember the
last time I shocked Julian, but I guess I must’ve now because he’s speechless.
He stares at me and reaches around and slides his hands down my back. His hands
feel soft and warm as they move slowly down and stop just above my ass.
“Okay?”
Julian nods his head
slightly and lifts me off of his lap. He reaches up under my skirt and gently
pulls my panties off. He winks at me and smiles sexily. “I wanted to rip these
off of your sexy ass, but you will be putting them back on when we
get done fucking.” Julian licks his lips and I swear I have a mini orgasm as a
smoldering warmth courses through my body. I’m buzzed and feel a primal need to
claim my territory. All of my earlier craziness about the picture is gone as I
realize I have a real, current threat to contend with.
I lick my own lips
and reach down to unbuckle his belt. I also unzip his pants and watch as his
rock hard erection springs out into my waiting hand. “Have I told you lately I
love that you don’t wear underwear? I love the access.” I don’t wait for his
answer as I kneel in front of him and take him in my mouth. I feel Julian’s
strong hands tug gently on my ponytail as I slide my moist lips up one side of
his throbbing shaft and down the other. When I run my tongue slowly around his
soft head, I hear him moan deeply.
“Mmm, baby. You do
this so fucking well.”
I’m feeling
confident so when he puts his hand on my head and pushes down, making me take
him all the way in, I don’t resist. He begins thrusting into me and rolling his
hips rapidly. I can feel his legs start to shake. His movements are forceful
and uncontrolled, and it’s obvious he has no interest in prolonging his
release. I gag a little when he starts to explode into my mouth, but I don’t
pull away until the last kick of his orgasm has ended. As soon as he finishes,
I feel his hands under my arms. Before I get a chance to stand up on my own, he
pulls me up and sits me on the desk in front of him. “Lean back and put your
heels on the arms of the chair.”
This is so hot.
Julian pulls my skirt up so it’s around my waist, and when I look up at him,
his eyes are black with lust as he admires my naked body. He pulls his chair
closer to the desk and gets right in between my legs. I put my heels on the
arms of the chair just like he asked me to and bend my knees. His face is at an
even level with my crotch and I feel his warm breath blowing on my sensitive
flesh.
I try to scoot
forward to initiate real contact and I hear Julian chuckle. “So impatient, sexy
girl. I’m right here.”  With those words,
Julian wraps his arms under and around my thighs, pulls me as close as he can
without pulling my ass off the desk, and launches the most intense assault on
my sex, licking and sucking on my throbbing clit, driving me crazy with his
supremely talented tongue and mouth. I find myself trying to grasp onto
something to hold onto and when I can’t find anything, I reach back over my
head and grab onto the edge of the desk. I feel like I need to ground myself as
he takes me somewhere otherworldly. It’s that fucking good. When Julian slides
his tongue inside of me and flicks my clit softly on the way out, I take my
turn and explode into his mouth. I literally feel the rush of wetness and when
I hear Julian’s moan, I know he felt it too.
I need to lie still
for a moment and get my breathing under control, but Julian has other plans. He
puts his hands on my waist and pulls me off of the desk and onto his lap. He’s
hard again and glides into me easily. He lifts me up and down as I ride him,
and each time I slide down his length, the pressure on my clit sends a
shockwave of sexual energy throughout my whole body. The orgasm I just had left
me very sensitive and it’s almost unbearable.
We’re staring at
each other with the same intense focus we get when we’re completely connected,
and I see so much in his eyes. Right now he’s looking at me like I’m his world
and I want to hear him say it. I want him to tell me once again that I’m all he
wants and all he needs. I also want him to know he’s all I want and need too.
“You’re mine,
Julian. All mine.” It’s more a statement than a question, but he answers.
“I am yours, just
yours, and you’re all mine, baby.”

My whole core begins
to contract as my third orgasm of the night starts to rush through my body. At
the same time, I feel every muscle in Julian’s body tighten and tense as he
releases himself into me. We cum together and cling to each other as we give
ourselves over to the pleasure.

Have you ever woken up one day and said, “Today’s the day I’m going to do (insert thing here)?” Well, I did, and the result is my first novel, Stay. I always thought of myself as a decent writer, and then a trip down memory lane through my ninth grade book of poetry confirmed it. I realize that I have always had a romantic side and a way with words. With support from my husband and kids (and an unspoken agreement to leave me alone for a few hours every night), I embarked on this incredible writing journey.

I’m originally from sunny Southern California and spent my summers in South Florida. I attended college at FSU and received my Masters in New Mexico. I finally settled in the Washington, DC area. My happy place has always been anywhere near the water.

When I’m not writing, I help run a business with my husband, watch an inordinate amount of sports (my kids play something 365 days a year), indulge my competitive spirit on the tennis court, and spend time with my awesome family and friends.

I am an avid reader, but find my characters feel neglected when I hang out with other author’s characters for too long. When I do read, historical fiction is my favorite genre. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures, places, and times.

I feel so blessed that my love of books inspired me to finally do something that I forgot I had always dreamed about doing.

My someday has arrived!

“Sometimes you choose a path that leads you down a road you never thought of taking and it changes your entire world. It becomes a path of challenges and you question everything in your life, and the reasons behind why things happen.”

For Micah and Josh that is exactly what this story was about. Life brings them down a path they were not expecting and it changes everything for them. When they first meet, saying they don’t really like each is an understatement. There were so many misunderstandings and assumptions that played into this story that these men were quick to judge but at the same time it had them questioning everything they ever thought.

Micah is this brooding, controlling angry doctor who doesn’t make time for anyone. He’s married to his job and is all about power and control. He has no patience for anything really. Keeps his distance and doesn’t open up himself to anyone other than his one friend Alex.

Josh is picking up the pieces of his life after a getting burned from a past relationship. He completely changed his entire life and is just basically trying to figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life. He’s not interested in putting his heart back out on the line but he’s not really made for one night stands either.

This one was pretty much lust at first sight even though they couldn’t stand each other. I really loved seeing the conflict they each had going on in their heads. I totally could see the attraction they had even when they wanted nothing to do with each other. I love when we get that in the book. I really enjoyed the banter, miscommunications and misunderstandings but I will say I just wish the buildup to lovers was more of a slow burn.

Even though Micah can really be a pain in the butt with his knee jerk reactions to things I really felt for him. He really did not win the lottery where his parents were concerned and because of that I could understand why he is the way he is. Josh was amazing. He completely won me over with patience and his determination to see past Micah’s bullshit. I loved seeing Josh’s desire override his past hurts and that ultimately gave him the ability to show Micah that he could be loved.

Overall I really enjoyed this story. I loved how together they were able to overcome some of things that jaded them. Their connection was strong and I loved the tender moments they shared when they really opened up. The sex was hot, there was some angst and I really loved seeing how their common ground brought them together.

I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. I started reading traditional historical romances when I was a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until I picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that my interest in romance novels became renewed.

But somewhere along the way, my tastes shifted. While I still enjoys a juicy Historical romance, I began experimenting with newer, more cutting edge genres and discovered the world of Male/Male romance. Once I picked up her first, I became so enamored of the authors, the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion of the books, I knew I wanted to write my own.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.

Getting Dirty by Mia Storm Cover Reveal

GD Amazon SW GR

Dirty
A poem by Blaire Leon
If sex is dirty, why would I do it with someone
I love?
If sex is dirty, then didn’t we all come from
the dirt?
What if I like the dirt?
What if I want to get dirty?
What if I want to roll in the mud until I’m so
fucking filthy that I’ll never be clean again?

When twenty-five-year-old graduate assistant Caiden Brenner asked Blaire Leon how old she was, she said she was a senior. He chose to believe she meant in college. They connect over Lord Byron’s Don Juan and, as their conversations become increasingly thicker with sexual innuendo, Caiden finds himself obsessing over a totally off-limits undergrad who’s bold, beautiful, brilliant, and one of the most passionate poets he’s ever met.
But it turns out Blaire hasn’t been totally honest. She’s the
seventeen-year-old valedictorian of her high school class, taking courses at Sierra State while awaiting her acceptance to Stanford.
Will Caiden get too deeply into Blaire to back away before he finds out the truth? Or will their connection be enough to seduce him into risking his entire future on Jail Bait?

“A thousand and one feels….Getting Dirty is a thrilling, tantalizing forbidden romance you do not want to miss! I not only devoured this book, it devoured me right back!”–Katy Evans, New York Times Bestselling author of REAL

EXCERPT

“What year are you?” I don’t even realize I’ve said it until it’s out of my mouth.

Her eyes flick from the book to mine. “A senior.”

I feel my eyebrows arch before I can stop them. “You look younger.”

She bites her lips between her teeth for a moment. “Is that good or bad?”

“Neither, I suppose.” But my insides burn, knowing that she’s not as off-limits as I originally thought. It’s nearing the end of January. Commencement will be here soon enough. She graduates and all bets are off.

“So…” she says, twisting a finger into the ends of her hair. “I know you like old, dead poets. How do you feel about hearing something fresher?”

I lean toward her. “Such as?”

“I’m reading in a poetry slam tonight. It’s just something over at Tino’s in Jonestown on the fourth Friday of every month. There’s no prize money or anything, but I perform something new pretty much every month.”

“A poetry slam…” I want to say yes in the worst way, but it feels dangerously like a date.

She must read the hesitation in my eyes. “If it’s too weird, no worries. I just thought, since you like poetry…”

She leaves the thought dangling. Like a noose. And I jump right into it. “Yeah. Why not?”

The answer to that rhetorical question is that it’s not May yet and she hasn’t graduated. I’m risking everything I’ve worked the last three years toward. My entire future. But the voice of reason is being drowned out by the raging waves of something rolling up from the deepest layers of my being like an undertow. Something base and essential. And unrelenting.

“Do you want to meet me there?” she asks, standing from her seat and giving me a better view of the entire exquisite length of her.

“Yeah…that’s probably best.” Plausible deniability. No, Dr. Duncan, I didn’t have any clue she’d be there. Just went to hear the poetry.

“Great,” she says as she gathers her book and shoves it in her bag. “It starts at nine. There are usually five or six poets and it’s a random draw, so I don’t know what time I’ll be reading.”

I nod without standing, no longer able to tame my erection. “I’ll be there at nine.”

“You know where Tino’s is?”

Electricity crackles under my skin. I’m really doing this. “Yeah. I’ll find it.”

The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller by L.B. Simmons **Tara’s Review**

Resurrection of Aubry_Simmons_finalebooksm

*****#1 Best Seller in Amazon Inspirational Romance*****

Synopsis

Death.

For some, it’s simply one of life’s certainties, nothing more. For others, it’s merely a fleeting thought, one often overshadowed by the reckless delusion that they have been blessed with the gift of immortality.

For Aubrey Miller, death is the definition of her very existence. Overcome with the guilt resulting from the loss of her beloved family, she alters her appearance from the once beautiful, blonde-haired, blue-eyed little girl to that of one shrouded in complete darkness, enveloping herself in her own unbreakable fortress of solitude as a form of protection for others.

As she enters her first year of college, her goal is simple: Earn a degree with the least amount of social interaction as possible. What she never anticipates is the formation of very unlikely relationships with two people who will change her life in ways she never believed possible: Quinn Matthews, the boisterous former pageant queen, and Kaeleb McMadden, a childhood friend from her past who never really let her go.

Over the years, as their connections intertwine and grow, a seemingly indestructible bond is formed between the three…

But when death painfully reemerges, Aubrey is lost once again, burying herself deeper than ever before inside the familiar fortification of her fears.

Will the refuge of friendship, the solidarity of life-long bonds, and the power of unconditional love be enough to do the impossible?

Will they be enough to finally bring about…

Tara's review

4.5 stars
Death surrounds Aubrey Miller, by the age of 8 she has lost everyone important to her. Trying to run away from the memories of her past, Aubrey transforms herself into Raven. She changes herself into someone no one would want to be around in an effort to construct a wall around herself to keep everyone away.

When Raven heads off to college, she is roomed with her polar opposite, Quinn, is the epitome of beauty queen right down to her shiny tiara. When Quinn and her “boarding buddy” Kaeleb persist on getting to know Raven, her walls will be knocked down little by little.

Aubrey starts to reemerge, and everything in her life seems to be going wonderfully until several situations send Aubrey spiraling backwards and Raven reclaims her life.

~~~~~~~~~~
There was nothing about this book that I did not enjoy. I was engrossed from the start and could not wait to see where everything would go. I loved loved loved Kaeleb, like hard. His love for Aubrey was so heartfelt. I just wanted to reach in my kindle and snuggle with him. There were times when I just wanted to slap Aubrey and tell her to
but I could relate to her struggle. Her life did not start out easy and it was heartbreaking what she had to endure. I could relate to her inability to realize all the good around her, and all the people that had absolute love for her.
The storyline of the book was very original, and the ease in which it all flowed was extremely well written. The characters well developed. The only thing I wished is that there was more. I wanted a longer more detailed epilogue, where things went longer down the road(for selfish reasons).
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, this will not be the last I seek out from this author.
