“It was deep, the darkest hour that settled over the Earth before the sun shed its light to proclaim a new day. I wanted to put it on pause. To live in this fantasy, just for a little while.”
OH MY HELL THIS BOOK!!! Let me just say prepare for a book hangover that I haven’t experienced in a while and prepare for tears!! You know what just get a box of tissues and a bottle of wine you will need it! I don’t even know what to say about this book I LOVED IT, I want the second one and …
“Something like butterflies scattered in my stomach, a jumble of frantic wings that fluttered hard and fast, taking flight in my veins. Soaring high. Dipping low. Chemistry. Is that what this is called? I hated and loved it all at the same time.”
Yep that is it I had immediate chemistry with the characters in this book or maybe it was that I immediately felt their chemistry. Whatever it was I was immediately connected with this story. From the moment Shea meets Sebastian in the bar you feel these two belong together. It’s a tension that only builds as you continue to read.
“Everyone wanted a piece of Sebastian Stone.”
Oh my Sebastian, everyone literally wanted something from this man. He was this broken, scarred closed off rock star. He seriously broke me this man.
“Guys like him had never been my style, if I even really had a style anymore. I never went for the boy who screamed trouble and heartache and a fast, hard, blinding bliss kind of ride before he ripped apart your little world when he left.”
LOL okay let’s just admit now that is exactly the kind of man that gets me every time!! PERFECTION, he is perfection. Then there is Shea, the perfect girl next door. She is the complete opposite of Sebastian. However they both have secrets, they both have a past. MISTAKES, everyone has mistakes. DEMONS.
“Getting lost in wide, guileless eyes that still held a million secrets. Feeding off that sweet naivety while she owned me with clever, cunning hands.”
And that’s exactly what AL Jackson did she owned me with her words. I felt everything this couple went through. My heart broke right along with theirs. I truly experienced each of their emotions happiness, fear, anger I felt each one as if I was a part of them. I also was completely blown away when certain surprises and twists were revealed. The way AL told this story was truly breathtaking and real.
“This one’s hard to forget.”
This story is super powerful, and for me was beyond emotional. Of course there is a cliff and it has left me completely obsessed with these characters, and I truly can’t stop thinking about what is going on and what is going to happen. And as much as I want the rest of their story I always want several others stories from the band. Bottom line even the secondary characters are amazing so let’s just say I am completely obsessed with this series and it’s just beginning. I am hooked and this just became my new drug of choice.
“Sebastian had changed me. Altered who I was, what I believed, and what I wanted.”
I dug in my bag for my keys and slipped the front-door key into the lock, turned the knob, and cracked open the door.
“Goodnight, Baz.” I turned away and went to cross the threshold.
I felt him move before I felt the blazing heat of his hand on my neck, beneath my hair, his thumb at my jaw to force me to look back at him.
Indecision swam through his eyes, voice rough. “You’re beautiful, Shea. Need you to know that.”
Slowly, I shifted, turning to face him, his right hand gliding around to the side of my neck in the same second his left came up to the other side. Holding me. Thumbs ran along the contour of my jaw, strong fingers at my nape tipping back my head.
I felt like I would drown under the intensity of him—my body coming alive—a rapid-fire of sensation licking through my body with the simple touch.
I stopped breathing when he slowly leaned in. His mouth brushed over mine in a feather-light caress.
Once. Twice. Three times.
As if he were curious to see what it might feel like.
Like he’d gotten the answer, he gripped my face. There was little movement, just the dizzying sweetness of his lips as they pressed earnestly against my mouth. Baz inhaled, breathing the moment in. I grabbed his wrists to hold him closer as my knees went weak, the man again having the power to evoke the most foolish kind of reaction from me.
He fed from it, I could tell, the way every inch of him hardened and a rumble of pleasure vibrated from his chest.
Spinning us, he pushed me up against the wall. My back hit it with a thud, and his hands were in my hair, yanking me forward in the same second his mouth closed fiercely over mine.
He was no longer gentle, and he swept his tongue along the rim of my bottom lip, teasing at the corner, nipped me once before his tongue slipped inside.
It was an all-out assault.
