We joked about writing a book and then once we started it kind of just took off and we really love it. We both contributed to all of the Rocking books. “Good girls are easy,” Logan said.
“Logan, don’t fuck with her,” Max said. “This is business, not for your twisted sense of pleasure.”
“I can mix business with pleasure.” Logan peered toward the open bus door.
Shouldn’t Toni be climbing the steps now? He hoped he hadn’t scared her away. He found her incredibly attractive. He had a thing for women who understated their beauty, and Toni took understatement to a whole new level. And her rack? God, he could get lost between her enormous tits for hours. He hoped she wasn’t wearing a padded bra under that turtleneck sweater. He planned to find out really soon.
Dare thumped Logan on the side of the head. “You’re so full of shit.”
“Why do you say that?”
“You’re talking smack. You like her.”
“I don’t even know her. How could I like her?”
“Are you talking about me?” a soft, feminine voice said from the top of the bus steps.
Logan turned his head and smiled at her. “Of course not.”
“Oh,” she said, her face falling.
“I already know I like you,” he said.
Her hand moved to her mouth. She touched her lips with two fingers, and a pretty blush spread across her face. Sweet, shy, and female, a combination Logan could never resist. Especially the female part. Her fantastic tits were just a bonus.

~ Excerpt ~

He looked at me and extended his hand. “We have to dance. Bride’s orders.”

I blew out an exasperated sigh, my hand hovering over his. Electricity literally snapped between us. “Well, if the bride says, then I guess I’ll do as I’m told.”

Kade’s face cracked a smug smile, as if to say ‘oh, you’ll do as you’re told, all right,’ and his hand curled around mine. The electricity ran up my arm, causing me to shudder.

Knock it off. I chastised myself for letting him get to me.

The other groomsmen found their bridesmaids, and we all made our way to the checkered dance floor. Livy looked so pleased with herself; I shot her a discreet scowl. She was the only person who knew about my brief history with Kade Ford, and that was only because she tricked it out of me after one too many tequilas last year.

Kade wrapped me in his strong arms and started swaying us to the music. “You look so damn fuckable in that dress.”

My head snapped up to meet his hooded stare. He looked like he wanted to devour me. Shit, Jameson… PULL IT TOGETHER. I gave Kade my best fake smile and said, “Does that line actually work, Ford? Because I’ve heard better.”

The smug smile he was wearing slowly transformed into a lazy grin only making him sexier—if that was possible. He dipped his head into the crook of my neck and whispered against my skin, “Maybe, but have you ever had better?”

The guy was a walking, talking jerk. I’d known some douches in my time, but Kade Ford was—and always would be—douche canoe number one. The kind of douche that left a mark, but a douche nonetheless.

Tara's review

It starts as a few occasional rolls in the hay after some wild nights of drinking with friends. There is fire between Kade Ford and Staci Jameson. They are explosive and not always in a good way. Staci is hiding from heartbreak and not interested in anything more. When she crosses paths with Kade again, living in the same city, their arrangement turns to friends with benefits. They start this hot and heavy relationship that turns into something more, at least that Kade can admit to.

“Skilled hands snaked around my waist and down to my butt, drawing me up to him.”

Staci doesn’t want more, but Kade is relentless. Kade finds himself wanting more from Staci than she is willing to give. He pushes her to give more of herself to him, which only forces Staci to do what she does best, run.

“Right now, watching her eyes glaze over with lust and her skin flush, I couldn’t imagine anyone ever making me feel like this again.”

Sometimes pushing too hard can push someone away. Kade learns this the hard way, that Staci’s fight or flight instinct always pushes her toward flight. Is Kade willing to let her go, or will he fight for the one woman he has ever fallen for?

I absolutely LOVED this book!!!! It was mixed with every aspect of a book that claims my full attention. There was angst, mystery, love, lust and amazing sex. I could feel the connection between the characters from the start. I found myself cheering them on through some rough points in their relationship. The highs were amazing, the lows gut wrenching. My heart was breaking right along with both Kade and Staci.

This is not a typical love story with a typical storyline, it’s so much more. I enjoyed re-visiting characters from the other stand alone books in the Fate’s Love series, as they are all intertwined.

This is the 5th book I have read by this author, she has a unique writing style and I find myself engulfed in her books from the start. She has a way of drawing you right in and grabbing hold of your heart and never letting go.

I would highly recommend you grabbing this book and all of the other books by L.A. Cotton.

Fearless by Annie Jocoby
(Fearless #1)
Publication date: July 15th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

*Warning* Strong language and sexual situations. Ends in MAJOR cliffhanger. Not for the faint of heart.

Beautiful heiress Dalilah Gallagher, a former child art prodigy, has lost her way. Harsh criticism in her formative years has left her floundering and without the artistic voice that once centered her life. Now, at the age of 20, she has spent the last nine years trying to reclaim what she lost.

Her struggles lead her to the nude-modeling world in New York City, where she hopes she will find her passion for art again. What she finds is surprising: Her artistic voice isn’t gone, merely misplaced.

Luke Roberts has a different problem. Raised by a solid, working-class fisherman in Maine, Luke is a gifted artist struggling to get a foothold in the busy New York City art scene. His gifts attract the attention of a wealthy benefactor, Blake Nottingham, who finds himself fascinated with Dalilah. Nottingham commissions Luke to provide him with a piece of art: A painting of Dalilah.

As the two young artists fall in love, Dalilah finds her artistic voice once more, so she’ll do anything to help Luke find the prominence he deserves. This leads to a dangerous game of deceit that puts Dalilah in Nottingham’s clutches when she tries to manipulate him into helping Luke.

Nottingham isn’t easily manipulated, though, and things go seriously awry for Dalilah. What happens when the manipulated becomes the manipulator?

This is a New Adult Contemporary Romance. Age groups are 18+. It has some sexually explicit scenes.

Josie's review
4 stars

This is my first time reading a book from this author, and I am glad that I got the opportunity to do so with Fearless. Fearless is a quick read, but it is packed with drama, passion and mind games. This story is written beautifully and flows and blends perfectly. Luke and Delilah are characters that are developed well and as a reader I connected with them and were intrigued with them. The story is told in dual POV’s which I really love because not only do we get to hear from both sides but we also get an understanding of how they both feel.

Dalilah’s character is one that I really enjoyed reading. When she was a young she was an artistic genius but along the way she has lost her voice and inspiration. Now an adult Delilah is now living in New York City without the help of her very well off parents. In order to survive and in the hopes of finding her magic again, Delilah takes on part time nude modeling jobs with the local Universities. She is trying hard to find her way in life, a purpose and loose her fear of her inner critic. She is happy with her life.

Delilah has no problem with men, but when she sees Blake Nottingham, CEO of Nottingham Industries, she immediately notices that he looks cruel and demanding, but that is not enough to keep her away. When they hook up Delilah gets more than she bargained for. Blake is into heave BDSM and their first time was nothing that she experienced in the past. Delilah had planned never to see Blake again, but fate or shall I say Mr. Nottingham had other plans. Blake is obsessed with Delilah, there is no other way to put it. He has been watching her for some time and he has no intention of letting her get away. Blake hires a young up and coming starving artist Luke to do a naked portrait of Delilah for his eyes only.

Luke, you will love him. He sits behind Delilah on the bus and was memorized with her beauty, when he goes home and draws her from memory. There is nothing, sick or pervy about this. It is clean and innocent. He is struggling to make ends meet so when he gets a call for an interview with Nottingham Industries’ he is shocked but also desperate. He gets offered $1000 to draw a portrait of his muse. When Luke and Delilah come face to face there is an attraction and a pull that neither can deny, but since he was hired to do a job he doesn’t want to strain their business relationship. They are similar in so many ways and soon Luke can’t deny that they are soul mates.

Delilah is not a selfish person she sees that Blake can help Luke and open doors for his talent so she decides to see Blake in the hopes of helping his career. She thought the game would be easy, no sex, just dates until Luke’s career kicks off. Her parents and friends warned her that Blake is a dangerous man and to steer clear of him before it’s too late. Just when things with Luke and Delilah are right, Blake learns the truth and now he is the one to play THE GAME. Will Delilah and Luke find their HEA? Will Blake’s obsession with Delilah cost her, her true love Luke? What price will Delilah have to pay Blake for her game? I really liked this story a lot so I went and grabbed the 2nd book since it’s out already. I can’t wait to see where life will take these 3 characters next.

Annie Jocoby is the author of 8 contemporary romance novels and 3 New Adult contemporary romance novels. Her motivation to begin writing these novels is that she was interested in writing about rich men who actually love and respect their women. Her heroes are alpha and damaged, yet also genuinely good guys.

Ryan, Nick, Luke and Asher are all complicated characters who have experienced plenty of darkness, yet always seek the light. They would all go to the ends of the earth to protect the women they love. And they’re all sexy, enigmatic, magnetic and great in bed.

All of Annie’s books have things in common: they all combine a touch of mystery and intrigue with drama, love, and lots of hot sex. Some of the books have action and even some criminal elements in them. Her current book, in fact, is her first book that would be classified as straight romantic suspense, although it also combines definite elements of the thriller genre! If you’re in the market for a book that is fast-paced, where the heroes are beautiful and wealthy, and the heroines are strong, vulnerable and flawed, then try these books out!

Resolute. Firm. Unwavering

That was my love for him.

Steadfast for as long as I can remember.

As my best friend’s brother, he ignored me before noticing me. He protected me, bought me my first beer, but eventually became my undoing.

There was a time I would have died to get him to notice me, now I’d do anything to forget him.

I’m not the one who can tame him, and he’s not the guy who will change for me.

This isn’t a story about falling in love, this is a story about falling out of love.

Unrequited love.

And finding the strength to stand up for myself.

Here’s to the steadfast.

*This is an standalone story that crosses years from YA into NA genre, due to HEAVY subject matter this book is for ages 16 and up. This is not your typical love story.*

We don’t have drinks this time so instead I raise my hand
for a majestic fist bump. I’m not sure what to wish/salute to this time. Over
the weeks, we’ve gone through everything. Well, almost everything.

“To love,” I say, knocking my knuckles against his.

“To infatuation,” he corrects, fist bumping me again.

“No, to the steadfast.”

Our eyes connect. Both of us realizing how cruel life can
be, how tempting it is to get swept away in the people that pay attention to us.

Priest Teaser

Josie's review

4.5 stars

I have never read a book from this author but after I read the synopsis I was curious. The title only screams taboo, and I am a reader that looks those kinds of books. I was skeptical, I am Catholic and I never thought the father at my Parish would think this way. So here’s the deal,   the book was not want I expected at all. The author delivers an amazing story and yes it is about a priest and some really dirty and hot sex but there is much more to this story. The author gives readers betrayal, jealousy, envy, broken vows, grief and guilt. Priest is told essentially in Tyler’s POV, because face it look at that title, this is HIS story. There are times that we get some of Poppy’s POV but that is her explaining her past but we can tell how she is feeling by her words and her actions.

Father Tyler Bell is one HOT priest. If the priest at the church I go to was like that, I would be a regular. He made a decision to become a Priest because of a traumatic experience from his past. I do not want to get in to too much of the story because this is something you will need to do for yourself. After he and his family were let down by the Church, Tyler felt it was his duty to make amends and set things right.

Poppy Danforth comes from a family that is well off. She is educated and a business executive but she has never really felt like she belonged. Even though she is educated she takes a job as a stripper for a very exclusive gentlemen’s club. She has a lot of guilt from her time working at the club and moves two blocks away from Tyler’s church. I loved this character because she was strong but yet weak if that makes any sense. Poppy is drawn to the church and is looking for something meaningful in her life. A confession will bring two people together and out of this innocent confession, a forbidden relationship is formed.

Let me say there is no denying that Tyler and Poppy have really chemistry. Tyler is immediately taken in by her sultry voice and her fascinating legs and her beauty. Tyler tries to fight his feelings and the immoral and dirty thoughts he has of her, but the more time they spend together the more weak he becomes. This relationship is a wreck waiting to happen. I knew this would be bad but I just could not stop reading. What starts as deceit and secrets can only explode. Poppy is looking for absolution and to grow and learn from her past, while Tyler is questioning his resolve and spiritual purpose and choice. Even though their relationship is forbidden what develops besides some off the chart sex is self-discovery and a deep love and acceptance.

Priest is a book that is written with some serious sexual strain.  The author writes a very intense build-up that will leave you panting at every page. Tyler is a kinky Priest. He is commanding and domineering but there is so much more to this man. He is gentle, thoughtful and possessive and there is no misunderstanding the author is talented. Priest is a very moving book about a graphic and taboo love that left me emotional many times. The blurb for this book is spot on. The author writes a book about the outcome and consequences of a Priest that breaks his vows and risks everything for love. The dialogue alone between Father Danforth and Poppy shows the feeling, connection, affection and intimacy instead of meaningless fillers between sex. Both Tyler and Poppy are thoughtful and have moments of extreme guilt. The eroticism between the characters was enjoyably and natural. They both know it is wrong but they can’t and won’t stop, even faced with being found out. I really loved this book and I think if you go into with an open mind you will love it too.

5 Mind-blowing Stars!!!!!!

“Because I am gonna do whatever it takes to get that motherfucking mouse out of my motherfucking house.”

Climb aboard the crazy train because this book is gonna blow your mind!!!

After finishing this book I have to say the author has me questioning my sanity. I think I might need some serious therapy because I freaking love Joe!!! Yup, I have to say he was insane but the author brilliantly wrote this book where you were actually agreeing with the insane things he did.

“But I did not expect a bush. She kissed me. “Welcome to the jungle.”

“I teach and I teach and I test and I test, and yet I’m the one who never learns. I choose wrong every time.”

I cannot begin to tell you how brilliantly written this book is. This book is complex and takes time to read because Joe is a complex guy and his mind is full of greatness. The author weaved together a story that will have you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails and afraid to flip to the next page. There are so many things I wan to say about how fantastically written this book is but I don’t want to give anything away. I am going to say this though; author Caroline Kepnes is a fucking genius!!!!!! This book is like nothing I have ever read. It is dark, it is deep, and it will blow your fucking mind!!!!

“Love is a Battlefield” begins to play and she is correct. This is war”

The first book was told in second person and I have never read a book told this way. This book was in first and I think this is what makes this book even better. We got to be inside Joe’s head. You get to experience all the emotions and his thoughts. It gave it that creepy feel that will have you holding your breath several times.

The author throws several plot twists and this book is one that you cannot even predict what is going to happen. This author is beyond brilliant!!! She takes you on a journey that you don’t want to see end. I am hoping we are going to get a third book because I need more JOE!!!!

“Are you saying what I think you are?” I asked, my mind still holding me back from pushing him back on the couch to give him what he seemed to be begging for. My fingers tangled through his hair, holding him so his face was barely an inch away from mine. I feared that, if I let go, the trance would be broken and I’d never know what it felt to press my body against his.

“Yeah, I think I am.” Throwing caution to the wind, I placed my hands on his shoulders and shoved him back. His wavy hair felt like silk under my fingers as I plundered his mouth with a crushing kiss. He moaned as his hips bucked against mine, just as desperate for release as I felt. A surge of connection jolted through my body, from my mouth all the way down to my cock, urging me to claim him. There’d be time for regrets later, but if this was what Mason wanted, I would be the one to give it to him.

My cock begged to be freed from the confines of my jeans, pleaded with my hands to reach between our bodies and pull his sweats over his hips, but I couldn’t. Just like my performance earlier in the day, I allowed someone else to weasel his way into my mind and I choked.

“Mace, we can’t do this,” I said with more than a trace of resignation behind the words. “I don’t want you doing something with me because you think it’ll take my mind off what happened earlier. You deserve better than that. If you’re really interested in guys, that’s awesome, but I can’t be your guinea pig. You mean too much to me for me to lose you when you decide you want to go back to women. I wouldn’t be able to stand being pushed aside because your tastes change.”

Mason’s face contorted as if he’d eaten something sour. “Dude, you make it sound like it’s a banquet dinner and I’m going to decide I picked the wrong entrée! Why can’t life be a buffet? If I’m in the mood for a steak, I’ll have the steak. If I want the salmon, I’ll grab a piece of that. Life’s short, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to get to St. Peter and regret never trying steak. Unfortunately for me, the only cut I’m interested in is you.”

“See, that’s exactly what I’m talking about,” I countered. “Let’s keep going with your ridiculous analogy, because you seem to focus better when we’re talking about food… what happens when you try the steak, only to decide that you can’t stand it? What if you realize that what you thought was steak was closer to a nasty fast-food burger? I don’t want to take that chance.”

“When I was younger, my dad always told me that it didn’t matter what package love came in, as long as the heart inside that package was good.”

This story was a really sweet friends to lovers story that gives us insight on how it’s not always easy coming out of the closet when you are in the spotlight. I can only imagine the kind of stress people are under when they want to be able to live their lives as honestly as everyone else does especially when you are a professional athlete. For Sean and Mason this was the case.

“there’s always been something about his looks that has drawn me to him, and it all started with those damn fuck-me eyes.”

Sean and Mason have been best friends for a really long time. Sean has always had a crush on Mason however he never let his very “straight” friend know how he truly felt. It appears at first that Mason is very much straight but after years of hiding who he really is from the world, he comes out to his best friend and in a big way.  These men play professional baseball and all their lives they’ve worked hard to get where they are. Coming out in that world is just not something that people would readily do. After they both come clean with each other and the feelings they’ve been holding inside, they begin a secret relationship. Their journey to fully having what they both desire while balancing their careers was something that I enjoyed seeing. I really enjoyed the support and love these characters got from friends and family once they did let people know the truth about themselves and their relationship.

There isn’t much angst or suspense with this one. It’s just a nice sweet story with a few steamy scenes, and lots of baseball talk. And while I did enjoy the whole premise of the storyline, sadly it just didn’t bring out the emotions in me that I was hoping for. The reason being that I just didn’t completely connect with Sean or Mason. There were moments that I loved but I felt like the certain things happened too fast for me to be completely immersed in them. There were conversations and shared moments I wish I got to hear and experience. Also there were a few times where I was confused on who was saying what and I found myself rereading scenes over. However, that being said there were definitely some honest and beautiful scenes that I really loved and couldn’t get enough of.

If you are looking for a sweet friends to lovers story with some hot men and love baseball then this story is one you’ll want to grab and give a try.

Sloan Johnson is a big city girl trapped in a country girl’s life. While she longs for the hustle and bustle of New York City or Las Vegas, she hasn’t yet figured out how to sit on the deck with her morning coffee, watching the deer and wild turkeys in the fields while surrounded by concrete and glass.

When she was three, her parents received their first call from the principal asking them to pick her up from school. Apparently, if you aren’t enrolled, you can’t attend classes, even in Kindergarten. The next week, she was in preschool and started plotting her first story soon after.

Later in life, her parents needed to do something to help their socially awkward, uncoordinated child come out of her shell and figured there was no better place than a bar on Wednesday nights. It’s a good thing they did because this is where she found her love of reading and writing. Who needs socialization when you can sit alone in your bedroom with a good book?

Now, Sloan is a tattooed mom with a mohawk and two kids. She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself with a good book and forget she has somewhere to be.

Let me start off by saying I have read Books from this author in the past, most recently Mr. X, and that was all it took for me to be hooked on this author. Stalker is the prequel to Killer. You do not need to read Killer in order to enjoy and understand the connection and journey of the characters in this book, but I would recommend you do just for that fact that it is really good too. Stalker was a serious emotional roller coaster for me. Clarissa knows how to write DARK ROMANCES (I kid you not, if you like a dark read, this one is for you). The warning in this book “this isn’t rainbow sprinkles & unicorn fluff. It’s a dark, thrilling journey of two people clashing over love, lust and hatred. Contains graphic violence, alcohol, drugs & other disturbing content – HEED THE WARNING” – the warning is true you’ve been warned.

I am a sucker for dark reads. The darker the better but Stalker was more than I could have imagined. I routed for the “bad guy” in this book and just wanted to hug him and never let go – GO FIGURE! Stalker is gritty, twisted and Dark, Twisted, Intense, Intriguing, Suspensful, Sexy, and Wicked this book was that and more and I loved every minute of it. Who doesn’t love A dark, twisted, naughty, vengeful hero, that is at war with himself and is panty soaking hot well that was Phenoix, his character will draw you in at first you will hate him then love him and hate him more but thier is just something about this twisted soul that you can’t help but want to save him slap him and drop your panties at the same time I enjoyeddeep, but it will captivate and grip you from start to finish. The author adds a sick and twisted need for revenger, betrayal, heartbreak, sacrifice and some real hard secret revelations within the plot so be prepared.

Phoenix is an angry man. While at prison he can’t help but to plot his revenge on the woman that put him behind bars, Vanessa. The only way he makes through prison is by thinking of the day he can execute his revenge to finally make Vanessa suffer and pay for what she did. Phoenix’ character is a man that is conflicted with his thoughts of her betrayal but also the need to keep her. Once he is out, which he will get out one way or another, nothing will stop him from getting to her.

“She’s not just my most hated rival, but she also used to be the object of my affection. I say used to, but I‘m not sure if I’ll get that quickly when I see her have again. I might actually fu*k her first, and then kill her.”

Vanessa is also a troubled individual. She has not had it easy. Her past and present life are proof of that. She’s had to make choices and decisions that she has regretted for years. To the outside world she looks happy with the perfect marriage and career, but on the inside she is anything but. Vanessa is a star and hides behind her extravagant lifestyle to mask her need to be loved, desired and wanted. Vanessa knows that Phoenix will come for her. She just doesn’t know when but she knows her days are numbered. Even though she knew doing what she did would have consequences she did what she felt she needed to do in order to survive.

When Phoenix and Vanessa’s path cross again it is explosive, scary and gritty. They both have a need to outwit one another. I knew things were going to get bad, but this was a good bad. These two characters coming together to settle old debts and betrayals are just what they each need. Just like Phoenix, Vanessa is also a dark mystery, but each of these characters have something that will draw you to them and have you sympathizing with their plights.

Phoenix is not a nice man. He shows no mercy with Vanessa even when his mind says he needs her. He has to feed his need for revenge for all the lies and hurt she’s caused him. Phoenix and Vanessa will uncover truths that will forever change the way they once felt, but will it be enough?

There are so many rough and gritty moments Vanessa suffers at Phoenix’s hand, but even through those times, we see his conflicted emotions and some of his vulnerabilities. I loved how this author shows us their connection by taking us back to the past and then to present. Phoenix and Vanessa’s journey is not a pretty one. It will gut you, make you scream and cringe but it will also have you believing that true love can stand the test of time.  Can Phoenix let go of the pain and rage he feels from Vanessa and move on? Can Vanessa make Phoenix believe the truth about her lies? Can Phoenix and Vanessa let go of their painful, brutal past and find a way to love and trust again? You really want to pick this book up. It will mess with your head but you won’t be disappointed.

“That’s it, Princess,” he says, stroking his erection, which is pointed straight at me. “Let me see that pretty face.” He smiles as I raise my head. “All red from excitement. Pucker those lips for me.”

I do as he says, and he immediately grasps my face and pulls me closer, pressing his lips onto mine.

Oh, fuck.

His kiss is intense, exploding my mind into little bits of delirium as I lose the fight with myself and with him. His lips explore mine eagerly, his tongue probing the rim to gain entry. He sucks on my bottom lip, feverishly kissing me. Moans escape my mouth as his tongue latches onto mine in a furious battle of wills. My lips seek his and take his kisses with need. Everything feels out of control, out of balance. I can’t stop, and I don’t want to anymore. Even if it’s wrong, even if I hate him for doing this to me, and even if he hates me to his core. My body shivers with excitement as I hear him groan, licking my lips while he jerks himself off in front of me. Everything about this, us, is wrong … but oh, does it feel good.

When he takes his lips off me, I don’t even know where I am anymore. My brain is fried. All I can think of is feeling his lips again.

He muffles a laugh. “So eager for more.”

Walking over to us with a full tray of shots, she winked at Annie. “To the birthday girl.”

We each took a glass, clinking them together before downing the clear liquid. “Shit, that reminds me of college.” Coughing, I dropped the glass back onto the tray as the 151 burned a path down my throat.

Liam had no such issues, easily swallowing his shot and the spare one that Annie hadn’t taken. Assuming the reason for her refusal was also the reason for the shocked look on Drea’s face, Annie quickly excused Paulie and herself to go and greet other guests. Drea trailed behind them like a lost puppy.

When I turned to look at Liam, a similar look of shock was on his face. His jaw was locked tight, so tight it looked like he might crack a tooth. “So,” I dragged out the word, wondering why the hell Liam was so pissed off.

Liam gave me no response, walking away from me and toward the bar. By the time I caught up to him, he’d already ordered another round of shots. Figuring the night was only getting started, I joined him in one more shot. I declined the next round, but watched on in amazement as he downed his fifth shot within a matter of ten minutes.

“You better slow down.” Liam was a grown man and could make his own decisions and maybe he had a high tolerance, but, in my experience, being as angry as he seemed to be and drinking was never a good combination.

Without moving his body an inch, he graced me with a rather seething look. “What the hell is your problem?” I snapped.

“Nothing,” he grumbled. Shifting his position, he rested his elbows on the bar top and cradled his head in his hands. “Look, it’s nothing, okay.” Finally turning his head to me, his tone softened. There was so much pain in his eyes it bordered on anguish. My gut told me a man like Liam wouldn’t deal well with pity, so instead of pushing the issue, I tipped my chin to the bartender, who was starting to become overwhelmed with the growing crowd.

After she handed me the round I’d ordered, Liam’s eyes widened in shock. “Calm down. I didn’t get these for you.” In quick succession, I downed the two shots. Slowly, and with determined purpose, I dragged the back of my hand across my lips. Liam’s tongue darted out of his mouth, licking his own lips, almost as if he was subconsciously reacting to my own movements. Angling my head out to the dance floor, I reached down for his hand. “Let’s go.” Even if he’d thought I was asking—which I wasn’t—he didn’t answer.

With his feet glued firmly to the spot, he closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose with his free hand. “Look, you don’t have–”

Stroking my thumb over the soft skin of his wrist, I interrupted him. “I know I don’t have to do anything, but right now, I want to dance. So unless you have some kind of objection to my body moving up against yours, or to other people seeing us out there, then you have no choice.”

Liam’s full lips quirked into a lazy grin, perhaps as a result of the alcohol, but I’d like to think it had more to do with me. “I don’t care who sees us,” he said with a carefree honesty.

“Good. Then let’s give them a show.”

For the briefest of seconds, I worried that maybe Liam didn’t dance, and that we were about to make terrible, drunken fools of ourselves, but that concern was all resolved when he started swaying his hips to the music. Shocked into staying still, I watched from his side, more than admiring the way his body swayed and popped. “Those are some mighty fine moves you’ve got there.” His joke was barely audible over the loud bass of the band, playing a cover of a rock song I’d heard once or twice. But his smile. Fuck, even in the dim, near-black nothingness of the bar, his smile lit up the room and it made it impossible not to fall in line behind him.

My hands fell to his hips, pulling his back right up against my front. With his ear right next to my mouth, I said, “I couldn’t get my brain, my feet, and my dick”—I pressed up against him as I pulled him back toward me to let him feel exactly what I’d meant—“to work all at the same time. Clearly, my body can only control two at a time.” Liam’s hands covered mine on his hips, his body gracefully undulating to the pulsing beat of the next, much slower, song.

Spinning to face me, he dropped his arms around my neck. Speaking just loud enough to be heard, he pressed his lips against my ear, sending an endless river of excitement coursing against my skin. “I like the way your body works.”

My hands found their way into his back pockets, squeezing the hard muscle of his ass. “Your body works pretty well, too.” Pressing my thigh in between his, I felt the hard heat of his erection. Almost as if there was nothing between us, I could feel his pulse beating along what I imagined was a thick vein running from his sac to his tip. My mouth watered at the thought of feeling it beat against my tongue. He adjusted his stance, allowing his dick to press up against mine and I barely concealed my pleasure, groaning into his ear. If the song had lasted a minute longer than it did, I would have come in my pants like some lust-ridden teenager jerking off for the first time.

Liam pulled back from me, angling his face in a way that caught the yellow-white glow of the lights he’d strung up earlier. Not for the first time, I was struck by how attractive he was. Everything about him was the definition of male beauty. From the naturally tanned skin and amber-brown eyes, to the day-old scruff dusting his jawline, to the rock hard muscles moving against mine; Liam was everything I wanted in a man.

And just as that thought barreled through my brain like a train inches away from derailing, he smiled at me—a gorgeously lopsided grin that somehow settled something in my brain and my body.

When I tried to make sense of it all, the band shifted gears once again, belting out the words to what was apparently Annie’s favorite song. The crowd quite literally went wild, filling what little space was left on the dance floor. We all moved together, laughing and having a genuinely good time.

Honestly, it was the most fun I had in recent memory. Watching Liam dance with his friends, getting lost in the music myself, it was as if I found a piece of myself I’d always been looking for. Or, to be more accurate, it was as if I found a part of myself I used to possess, but had somehow lost long ago.

Anyone who is familiar with Melissa’s novels knows that this talented author has this unbelievable way of writing heartfelt stories that will take on you an emotional journey. Repaired is definitely my favourite book from Melissa yet. From the very first page to the last you can’t help but be pulled into the story.  I loved that we got both Liam and Parker’s pov’s. Being in their heads while they faced some hard truths really brought out a lot more to this story. This story is about two broken men who alone were fragments of themselves but together through their love, patience and understanding those pieces are repaired. Just a little warning, there are some pretty tough scenes and subject matter that may be triggers for some people but this story is worth every ugly detail.

“He had a past he wanted to erase and I had a future I wanted to escape.”

Liam and Parker’s journey isn’t an easy one and while one is running from the pain and despair of his past the other is stuck and afraid of what his future will look like. There are gut-wrenching moments that will rip your heart out and may have you shedding a tear or two but the love, desire and passion that is felt throughout this book is palpable. The sex was definitely hot but I have to admit what I really loved was the tender and honest moments they shared. They truly touched my heart deeply.

Liam has secrets from his past that he holds close to his vest because the pain of it all is just too much that he doesn’t really open up to anyone. I love how Parker’s patience was just unwavering. He knew Liam had secrets but he never pushed him to give more than he could until he was ready. I loved how supportive these men were to each other when they both faced their fears, past and future.

I’m a huge fan of Melissa’s and this book is certainly one that every fan of hers does not want to miss out on. Melissa’s stunning writing hit every chord and feelings inside me where I connected so deeply with these characters. Honestly it’s written in a way that I wasn’t just pulled into their world, but I truly found myself caring a great deal about these characters. I really loved meeting the secondary characters. They really added different elements of insight which helped me to really get to know and understand Liam and Parker. This author has become one of my go to authors for some sexy men with a lot of depth and heart and this story certainly has it in spades. I can’t wait to see what comes next. I really hope we get to see Gabe and Zan’s story.

About the Author

melissa collins bio

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.

Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.
