After We Fall (Take the Fall #3) by Marquita Valentine **Debbie’s 5 Star Review**

After winning raves for Take the Fall (“crackling with tension, intrigue, and romance”—Katy Evans) and When We Fall (“sexy, emotional, heartfelt”—Monica Murphy), Marquita Valentine ratchets up the tension as new beginnings lead to undeniable passion.

A tough cop with an even tougher past, Hunter Sloan has never let anyone stop him from getting what he wants—and he wants Evangeline Ambrose bad. With her gentle curves and raw vulnerability, Hunter’s beautiful, mysterious new neighbor awakens his protective side. Determined to do right by a woman who’s gone through hell and back, Hunter could be the one to take away the pain—so long as his own secrets don’t sink their relationship before it begins.

Having escaped an abusive marriage, Evangeline simply wants to start over in the small, quiet town of Forrestville. She’s also avoiding all contact with the opposite sex, because she just can’t trust her instincts when it comes to men—not even with the sinfully sexy cop next door. So why can’t she stop thinking about him? Hunter has darkness in his soul, and yet no one ever made her feel so safe. For all her best laid plans, Evangeline didn’t count on choices this hard—or temptation this hot.

5 Didn’t want the book to end Stars!!!!!!

This is the third book in this series and this one did not disappoint. I was hooked from the start and devoured this book. I have loved every book in this series and could not wait to read Hunter’s story. I had a feeling it was going to be fantastic and Oh Man, was I right.

This is the story of Hunter and Evangeline.  Evangeline suffered years of domestic abuse. After finally leaving her no good scum of a husband she finds herself living across the hall from the man that rescued her months before. Hunter could not get her out of his head for months. He escorted her to a battered woman’s shelter and there was something about her that he just could not let go of and all he did was think about her. Then, months later he sees her and finds out she is living across the hall from him.  This is when the story really picks up. The chemistry between these two was not only hot, but also felt real. I loved the back and forth banter and, even though Evangeline had suffered a lot and her self esteem was at a all time low, there was something about Hunter that turned her into the feisty girl she was before she met her husband.

“Digging my hand into a pocket, I pull out two tennis balls.” What else could that bulge in my pants be?”

The author did an amazing job touching on a tough subject like domestic violence. The story line behind this subject was well thought out and worked perfectly. I loved everything about this story, even all the secondary characters. The plot worked and flowed fantastically. I found myself watching the percentage and dreading that the story was going to end. I am counting the days until the next book in this series because I have a feeling that Hayden and Saylor’s story is going to be off the charts fantastic!!!!!

Cover Reveak: Crave Me by M. Robinson

They say in order to find yourself you have to go home.
What if home was what you’re running from?
Where did that leave you?
Always on the other side of the fence.
Always looking in.
Always wishing you were someone you couldn’t be.
Until one day you meet her.
The one.
She was my high, but she was also…
My demise.

Colors blended together making it hard to focus on one thing. I blinked a few times and just like that…

I saw her face.

As if she was standing right in front of me.

My whole world…

My girl.

I felt my lips curl up slightly at the vision as I reached out for her. Wanting to touch her, needing to hold her, yearning to kiss her. Craving, God, craving to fucking love her.

“I’m sorry,” I murmured out loud to no one but the illusion of my drug-infested mind. “I’m so fucking sorry,” I repeated repentantly, longing for her to believe me.

Aching for her to love me again like she used to.

I don’t know how long I sat there, staring at her beautiful face before my eyes, subconsciously rubbing the tattooed key that was placed over my heart. I couldn’t take it anymore, and the desire won over the haze.

It was too powerful.

It was too vivid.

I grabbed my phone. “Baby,” I said into the speaker. The ringing quickly followed, going straight to voicemail. I hung up and tried again. “Baby,” I urged with desperation in my tone.

Still nothing.

I tried again and again and again.

I would try until the end of time if that’s what it took for her to answer.

To talk to me.

To save me.

To crave me.

Time just seemed to standstill, as my life slowly played out in front of me. Trying to balance in between the light and the darkness when all I could see was gray.

“What?!” she screamed into the phone, finally answering after I don’t know how many failed attempts. “What the hell do you want now?”

“Mi cielo.” I breathed a sigh of relief.

She ignored my term of endearment. I hadn’t called her that in such a long time.

My heaven.

“What do you want, Austin? Why are you calling me? We’re over! I can’t do this anymore!”

I shut my eyes and let my mind wonder, allowing it to go to another place in time where she didn’t hate me.

“I remember the first time I made you smile,” I chuckled, as if it had just happened.

My nerves were on fire. The mere sound of her breathing through the phone was too intense for me. I licked my lips, my mouth suddenly dry.

“I remember when you used to smile just for me. Do you remember, baby? Do you remember what my love feels like?”

I heard her faintly breathing.

“Do you remember my hands on you? My lips? My tongue? The first time I made you come with my mouth? Do you remember all the times since? Tell me I’m not forgotten. Tell me you remember, baby.”

“I love you, Briggs. I love you so fucking much. You’re killing me, don’t you see that? I’m dying without you.”

“No, Austin. You were dying with me,” she rasped, knowing that it killed her to say that.

“The first time I saw your face, I thought to myself, damn, this beautiful girl is goin’ to be the death of me. You were perfect in every way. I was a cocky son of a bitch who needed you then, as much as I need you now.”

More silence.

“I had a dream about you, baby. I always fucking dream about you. In my dream you had a ring on your finger. A ring I put there. You belonged to me. Only mine. Forever fucking mine. You were pregnant, Briggs. You looked so goddamn happy. I saw light at the end of the tunnel for the first time in years.”

She sniffled into the phone.

“I made love to you. Slow, just the way you love. Taking my time to touch every last inch of your body. Memorizing every last bit of you. Making you come until you begged me to stop. I didn’t.”

“I can’t—” she tried to interject, but I didn’t let up.

“I kissed your stomach. Our baby. Letting my lips linger there, whispering sweet lullabies, letting her know daddy will always be there. Baby, it was so real. For a second I gave you the one thing you so desperately wanted, the one thing I can’t give you.”

Beth's Review

4 stars

I was first introduced to Collette West’s writing when I decided to check out Game Winner, the fifth book in the New York King’s series.  I am a lover of sports romances and enjoyed Game Winner so when I saw that she had a new spin-off series coming out, I decided to check out Single.

Luke Singleton is not your typical cocky baseball jock.  He is a sweet and very humble guy who just wants to get back to playing a game he loves, but also look after his mom.  Luke’s dad was always known as Mr. Beaver, a well-known baseball player for the Stockton Beavers who never made it to the majors.  Before his dad died, he promised him he would look after his mom, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and keep her from having to go in a nursing home.  Luke is now faced with a dilemma, he is trying to make a comeback after being badly injured by another player but at the same time he is trying to take care of his mom, who is quickly going downhill and getting much worse with her illness.  Roberta Bennett is a personal care worker looking to start over in a new place and learns Luke’s secret about his mom and agrees to help him out by moving in and looking after his mom so he can pursue his baseball career, but there is more between these two than just a professional relationship.

I really enjoyed Luke’s character, he was so sweet and charming and so very humble.  He wasn’t a major league player making big money, he was just a guy who played a game he loved in the minors but was willing to give it all up to look after his mom.  I loved how protective he was of his mom and later on Roberta.  He was a true gentleman that was raised right.  I loved that even though he could have any girl he pretty much wanted with being a favoured Stockton Beaver, his main focus was getting to play the way he used to and making sure his mom was looked after.

Having only read the 5th book in the prior series, I only got to see a glimpse of Roberta’s character so I was intrigued to see what her full story was about.  I really enjoyed her character, she too like Luke was a good and caring person.  Even though not all of her choices in her past were great ones, we finally get to see why she was the way she was and that there was a lot more to her story that no one but herself knew.  Roberta survived a lot of hurt and bad things in the past and truly was a strong character to come out all of it still standing.

Overall this was a nice sweet read that I enjoyed.  I definitely would have loved to have seen more baseball action as part of the story, but I know not all readers enjoy having actual sport action written into the storyline but that truly makes a sports romance enjoyable for me.  I enjoyed the dynamic the storyline took and that it wasn’t your typical sports romance storyline, it was nice to have a fresh and different storyline.  I also enjoyed that there were not too much drama added, just a nice level to keep the story engaging.  There were a few parts that didn’t work for me or felt a little unrealistic but as a whole, the story was a really good one and I look forward to see more of the Stockon Beaver players.

“You can’t be serious.”

I said the words, but looking at the girl in front of me, I could tell she was. My Ash was reserved. Her emotions were always hiding beneath the surface. They broke through only sometimes.

In that moment, her desperation wasn’t hidden at all.

“It’s dangerous,” she insisted.

I tried to stay calm, to reason with her. “Ash, babe, just last week you were as excited as I was about me getting a prospect patch. I’ve always wanted to be a Disciple, and it was what you wanted, too.”

“That was before they killed my dad!”

Her head was totally fucked over this.

“You know they didn’t. They’re mourning Indian as much as I am, as much as you are. He died, and it’s fucking terrible, but you know any of those men would give their own life to bring him back to you. If you just calm down, you know it’s true.”

Tears fell from her blue eyes—eyes that had been stained red for over a week. Nothing made a man feel more fucking impotent than watching his woman cry constantly and not being able to do a damn thing about it. I hadn’t lied; any of the Savage Disciples MC men would give up their lives in an instant to bring their fallen brother back, to give Ash back her dad. I would take a bullet right then and there just to make her stop hurting.

“They might not have meant for him to die, but it’s their fault. The fucking club is the reason he’s gone!” She went right on working herself up.

In that moment, I wanted to be able to rewind more than I could put in to words. Just over a week before, we were happy. Everything was good. Fuck, everything was going exactly as it should.

I’d been made a prospect for the club, the first step to my fucking life-long dream of being a member. My uncle, Gunner, put the cut on me himself. It was everything I’d wanted since I could remember, since the first time Gunner brought me around the club as a kid.

The first thing I did? I went to Ash.

My girl, the daughter of a Disciple, grew up with the club. The brothers were her family, just like they were mine. Since I was six years old and I first met her, she’d known having that patch was all I wanted. Fourteen years later, it was real.

Ash was fucking thrilled. My firefly beamed as bright as I’d ever seen her. She’d thrown herself into my arms. She couldn’t stop looking at the cut on my shoulders, the visual proof it was really happening. At least, she couldn’t stop looking until I got her to take it off me so we could really get to celebrating.

But that night, with Ash curled up next to me in my bed, my cell rang. The first bad sign was the three a.m. call. The second was the way Gunner greeted me.

“Is Ash with you?”

I didn’t know why he would need to ask that. Ash was nearly always with me. Indian might not have liked it, but his daughter was eighteen. And anyway, she’d been staying the night with me on occasion even before that. So yeah, if she weren’t at home with Indian, she was in my bed.

I hadn’t expected him to be asking because there was no way for Indian to tell them she wasn’t home.

I hadn’t expected that I would need to wake my girl in the middle of the night.

I hadn’t expected that it would fall on me to tell her her only family member was gone.

I did, however, expect the way Ash had fallen apart at the news. I was even prepared for the fact that she wouldn’t bounce back from it right away. Moving forward was going to be a long road for her, I knew that.

Still, I never could have guessed she’d even think the things she was saying to me.

“So what, Ash? You want me to leave the club? Give up being a prospect and just take off?” She couldn’t mean that.

“Yes.” Not even a moment’s hesitation.

“The club is family.”

“I know your uncle is—”

“No. Ash, the club is family. All of them, not just my uncle. The brothers are our family.”

She looked at me and something about her eyes scared the shit out of me. “No. I don’t have a family anymore.”

Fuck. It was so much worse than I thought.

“Baby, the brothers are still your family. They helped raise you. Can you honestly say Roadrunner, Tank, Gunner, Stone—none of those men are your family? They love you.”

Her tears came harder, but there was no surrender in her. “It doesn’t matter. I can’t stay here and wait for the club to take anyone else from me.” A sob rocked her before she could say, “I can’t stay here and wait until it takes you.”

I tried to give her distance. I tried to stand across the room from her like she’d asked so she could talk, but I wasn’t doing that shit anymore. The second I had my arms around her, her face burrowed into my chest and she sobbed. It was a position we’d become all too familiar with.

“Firefly, listen to me,” I said into her hair, “I know you’re hurting, but this isn’t right. I can’t leave the club. I won’t. Once this pain isn’t so fresh, you won’t want to either. We’ll get through this, babe. Just hold onto me.”

She didn’t say anything. She didn’t argue any more. I got her into bed thinking I talked her off the ledge. She was staying. We were staying right where we were supposed to be.

I woke in the morning to find out I was very, very wrong.

Josie's review

4.5 stars

I love a good MC read and Drew Elyse’s Disciples MC has become a favorite of mine.  I was so excited to get my hands on Shift that as soon as I saw it on my Kindle I dropped everything to start it.   What I like about this author’s writing is that her MC romance novel s different and doesn’t feel like the same story line done over.  In the first book Ash and Sketch stood out to me and I could not wait to see how their story would go.  These two characters stole my heart from the very first page.  The prologue had me a mess, and right from there I knew I was going to be taken on an emotional roller coaster ride.

Ash and Sketch lives were destined to be one from early on in life.  As young children, they both fell in love and both knew that one day they would get married.  Ash was dealt a hard blow in life and she no longer wanted the life the MC had to offer.  She had to make a choice, one that will cost her in more ways than one.  Ash is a resilient and resourceful woman trying to keep all the bad of the MC life away from her life.  What I appreciated and liked about this character was her determination to keep away from the senseless violence and bloodshed.   Ash has gone through so much and believe me when we learn all that she goes through it will break you.  I was shattered and an emotional wreck.  I really admired her determination to move forward despite everything she went through.

Sketch (Gabe) was such a great character. I really loved him. From early on I knew Ash was his one and only.  When Ash left he was not the same man he was after. He was harder and cold.  Losing her took away a lot of the man he once was.  Sketch still longs for her and even though he tries his hardest to maintain that tough and hardened exterior in from of everyone his mind still went back to their time together. He missed his woman and I loved how the writing shows it.

When Ash was forced to come back home Sketch’s world was rocked. Seeing a little girl that looked like the younger version of Ash, old enough to be their child brought this man to his knees. I want to say I enjoyed seeing Sketch transform form the hardened man he portrays to this more docile man.  Don’t get me wrong he was still a bad add biker, but he was also protective, caring and gentle.  I swear I thought I loved him in the prologue but this man truly stole my heart the more I saw him change throughout the story.

I loved how the author handled the overall plot of this story and combined the MC world into it. It was balanced and not overkill. This author did an amazing job in bringing out all the necessary elements to make it one fantastic read.  I am anxious to read book #3 in this series, because each book gets better and better.

Over The Line by Lisa Desrochers Blog Tour & Review

The USA Today bestselling author of Outside the Lines once again explores love on the edge in an explosive new romance about obsession, betrayal, and a killer attraction.

Lee Delgado never planned on falling in love with the irresistible Oliver Savoca, son of a Chicago crime lord. Considering that their families are rivals, she knew it could never work. And now that both their fathers have been nabbed on racketeering charges, any real chance at a future with the man she loves has been shot to hell. But a greater blow is yet to come.

Not only does Lee learn that a contract is out on her life, she has reason to believe that Oliver is behind the devastating betrayal. Now she’s working closely—very closely—with Federal Agent Sean Callahan to help bring her man down. But however she’s come to feel about Callahan, Lee is still deeply, hopelessly, unabashedly in love with Oliver.

Where that fearless love takes Lee next is beyond her control—but the risk is worth every beat of her heart.

true gentleman is helping his woman to get her shoes on while sitting. sexy couple in studio

I want Lee to know, no matter where she goes, I will find her.

At the thought of her betrayal, rage rises up and wraps like an iron cloak around my heart, threatening to crush any bit of humanity left there. I close my eyes and hold my breath until it passes.

And I see her as she was before everything that came after—that first day of business law class at Kellogg, nearly two years ago.

She was starting her first year. I was in my second. I was already seated near Angela Bagglio, who I had a passing interest in due to her loose family ties to the Delgado organization. Her brother was a wiseguy wannabe, little more than a glorified gofer within the Delgado machine. But I’d discovered, sometimes it was the smallest details that led to the largest victories.

When Lee Delgado sashayed into the classroom, I’d like to say I was unaffected. I’d like to believe I was in complete control of everything that happened then and after.

But I’d be kidding myself.

Her bright hazel eyes surveyed the room, and when they caught for a second as they passed over me, I felt a shift in gravity itself. There were times reading nuances in expressions and actions was all that came between me and a slug in my head. That hitch in her perusal of the room left no doubt she was aware who I was.

From that second on, I was helpless to take my eyes off her.

Her sandy brown waves cascaded over the shoulders of her cream-colored silk blouse to an open collar that hung loose, revealing a hint of cleavage. Her burgundy pencil skirt hugged the round curves of her hips and ass and ended above the knee, giving me a glimpse of a pair of toned thighs and calves. She had a killer body and knew it. I had to respect a woman who knew her strengths and wasn’t afraid to use them to her advantage.

She took a seat in my row, but on the opposite side of the classroom. I was barely coherent when the professor started lecturing. I couldn’t tell you the first thing he said.

As she listened, she lifted a hand and combed through her waves with her fingers, separating out a strand and twirling it around her finger. A rush shuddered from my tailbone up my spine to my brain, and even though I had no clue why, that was the moment I knew I wasn’t going to be able to stay away.

The rest, as they say, is history.

If she thinks she can hide from me, she’s got another thing coming.

Mob controlled gambling has always been a huge racket, with better payouts because we don’t pay taxes like the legal betting sites. Back in the day, bookies were involved and actual cash changed hands. Now nearly everything is electronic. Bets are collected directly from our clients’ online accounts and payouts are distributed back into them. Payout is calculated after each event based on outcome versus the spread. It’s one of the parts of my job that I truly enjoy.             I’m always in the program, tweaking and modifying. But, suddenly, the week before Christmas, two days after Lee and I returned from our weekend in Aspen, I noticed the spread didn’t factor anymore and our payouts went through the roof. I thought maybe I’d screwed something up and tried to get into the program to check it. Ended up throwing my laptop against the wall when my pass code wouldn’t get me in.

It took me the next two days, and the fact that Lee wasn’t answering my texts or calls, to put together what had happened. Though I’m not sure exactly how she managed it, I know it had to have been her who hacked into my program and changed the payout ratios. I’ve looked at it from every angle and there are no other feasible possibilities. And it makes sense. I had an ulterior motive when we started hooking up, and I had no doubt she had one of her own. But as we got deeper into each other, things shifted and I lost focus. I let down my guard and gave her too much, and she took advantage of the opening.

I knew I wouldn’t be seeing her over the holidays because her siblings were all coming back to the family home in Wilmette, just outside of Chicago, for Christmas. It took me another day to decide I had no choice but to go there.

But when I got to the house, the place was swarming with cops and Feds, and yellow police tape was strung across the pillars at the front door. The reports the next day said it was believed the Delgados had fled to Europe after a “gangland style attack” on their home.

The online gambling leg of our business has been bleeding cash at the rate of nearly a hundred grand a month since Lee fucked with the program. Every month it gets worse as word spreads of our big payouts. The guy who designed and encrypted the program is dead; a casualty of my father’s wrath when he made the mistake of telling Victor he’d corrected a system glitch that had cost us a couple hundred grand over the first year of implementation. I’ve done everything I can to break Lee’s pass code, but considering the illegal nature of the account, and the fact that I couldn’t enlist anyone who might report back to Victor what happened, my resources to resolve the issue have been severely limited.

So I put my time and energy into another avenue. Finding Lee.

Like everyone else in Chicago, I assumed that my father was responsible for the contract on Lee and her family. I talked to his guys. Tried to see if any of them had a bead on the Delgados’ location. I couldn’t find anyone who was even looking.

So, as much as I dreaded it, I went straight to the source.

I was dead to my father. He’d made that clear. But that day, for the first time since I’d crossed him, Victor looked at me with pride in his eyes when he asked, “You purchase that special delivery for our friends up in Wilmette?”

And that’s when I knew it wasn’t us. It’s also when I knew I was a dead man unless I could find a way out of this mess on my own.

So I looked harder for Lee, dug a little deeper into the Delgado family tree. I didn’t find her, but I managed to stumble on some other useful information during my search. And then, finally, the stroke of luck that led me here: Rob showing up in Chicago.

I’ve been able to keep everything under the rug since she left, but underground betting has always been the Savoca business’s bread and butter. If Victor or anyone else in the organization discovers the hemorrhage of cash that our gambling ring has become, it’s my head my loving pop will want on a spike.

I told the guys I had some personal business in Vegas; gave Al a direct order to park his ass at my apartment and not to move until I got back. I took a flight to Vegas, and from there, traveled to Florida on an ID I pinched off of a guy we rolled in Little Italy for not making book. He’s dead now, courtesy of Al, so he won’t be divulging my alter ego to anyone.

My family doesn’t know this particular alias. They’d have a hard time tracking me. Once I find Lee, things should move pretty fast. But I have to find her first.

So here I am.

Wow!  What a ride! This book was even better than the first book.  I loved the first one but this latest installment brought so much more suspense, mystery and drama.  I love a good mafia book but when you add romance to the mix I am a goner.  Over The line’s writing and action had me hooked from the very beginning all the way to the very end.  I loved how the author handles this very unique love story and added a bit of a love triangle that kept me guessing to the very end.

Ever since I met Lee she’s became a favorite of mine.  Lee is a strong leading character. She is feisty, fearless and loyal  The Delgado’s are a crime family, they are tough but also have seen a lot and have been betrayed by the people who swore allegiance to them.  Lee’s story with Oliver is not a sweet one, after all he comes from the very family that murdered her family and put a hit on her and her siblings.  Meeting Oliver in college was the perfect way for her to exact revenge. Lee plans to make the Savoca’s pay for their crime.

Oliver, wow what can I say about him.  His character was not what I expected.  His plan was also to get information on the Delgado’s by going through Lee.  But here is the thing right from the start Lee and Oliver had more of an attraction to each other. Oliver got lost in Lee and did not pay attention to what she was really up too.  Oliver is running out of time, get to her before the Savoca’s do. He has a plan simple, easy but his plan is shot as soon as he sets his eyes on Lee again.

Lee and Oliver together was hot.  They both have a lot of pain over the lies, betrayal, murders and secrets that have followed them over the years.   Oliver has these really strong feelings for Lee and being around her only intensifies his need to make her his. The banter between them was crazy, enjoyable and funny.  These two had a connection that even when they tried to fight those feelings, I felt it on every page. I really loved them together.  Being with Oliver is not an easy choice for Lee, after all he is not the only one vying for Lee’s heart.

Lee and Oliver realize there is more to them that just their painful past, but to be together they will both to have betray their families.  Oliver will have to try and make it safe for Lee in a world intent on eliminating all the Delgados.  Can Lee and Oliver find a way to make it work?  Will Lee’s relationship with Oliver bring the danger home to her and her family?  Will Lee’s family get over the love she has for a Savoca or will she have to choose?  This was a great follow up book, it is filled with so many twist and turns, every time I thought things would go one way the author switched it up and added more excitement to the story.  I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series. I am hoping it is Grant’s story.

4.5 stars

I truly don’t know what it is, whether it’s the characters the author creates, the story she weaves, her beautiful writing style or all of the above but J.J. MacAvoy never seems to fail to suck me into her books immediately and keep me engaged with her fresh and creative stories.

Dr. Eli Davenport is a well renowned neurosurgeon and has the perfect fiancée, Hannah who is also a doctor.  Gwen is the complete opposite of Eli being a well renowned artist who is set to soon marry Sebastian, a well to do business man.  Life is perfect for all of them, that is until the day of Eli’s wedding when Sebastian and Hannah run off in the middle of the wedding leaving both Gwen and Eli heartbroken and having to pick up the pieces of what is left of their once perfect life.

After reading the synopsis, I must say going into this book, I did already have preconceived notions of how this book would play out.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was dead wrong.  I loved how the author handled the storyline that brought Gwen and Eli together.  I thoroughly enjoyed how the author developed the dynamic between these two characters.  I loved their banter and so many times it left me chuckling to myself.  But I also really enjoyed how the author slowly built up their relationship to be more.  I loved that it started out with them hating each other.  I was really pleased to see that there wasn’t the normal “I hate you but I am instantly attracted to you”.  I really enjoyed watching these two slowly become friends to then slowly become so much more.  And I have to say that when these two finally get together, it is completely off the charts HOT yet at the same time not overdone.

I absolutely loved both Gwen and Eli.  Gwen was such a great character. I loved her sassy attitude and that even though now she was rich and was a famous artist, she never let it go to her head, she never forgot where she came from and didn’t act like she had money.  Eli on the other hand in the beginning truly lived up to his name Gwen gave him of Dr. A-Hole and it made me completely understand how Hannah had walked away so easily on their wedding day.  But as we got to know and see more of the real Eli, he was such a giving person, especially when it came to his family.

Overall another really fabulous read from JJ MacAvoy that I absolutely loved.  This one was such a great mix of sweet and funny, hot and sexy along with some great added angst and drama.  One of the things I love about this author’s books is you are always guaranteed a great and very different story that you will absolutely fall in love with. I truly hope there will be a spin off from this one, would love to see more of Logan Davenport as well as Dr. Ian Seo.

O.M.G! This book!  This Series! Those men! That ending! I’m gushing, swooning, tearing up. So. Many. Feels!

So Sweet, So Sexy, So Hot… I Just Can’t Get Enough

We all know from the previous book that Spencer’s family life wasn’t the greatest once he came out. In fact the way he was treated was quite disgusting. Because of this it has left him closed off and not willing to open up his heart to anyone. Well of course Andrew changes everything he ever promised himself he would not allow. In this story we get to really see Spencer open up his heart like he never expected, we get to see how he struggles to put into words and say out loud what he is feeling.  We get to really see Andrew and Spencer’s relationship deepen and blossom even further.

“What I was certain of was that I, Spencer Cohen, the guy who once swore to himself he’d never let anyone close enough to hurt him again, had done exactly that. I was in love with Andrew.”

This series really has everything I could ever ask for in a story. The kind of story that completely has me glued to every page where every word has meaning and every moment is done with such emotion, integrity and heart.  The final chapter in Andrew and Spencer’s story really has me filled with mixed emotions.  I am really sad to see this story end as I am not ready to let these guys go. But, at the same time, I’m so happy to see where their journey took them from that faithful day in that coffee shop when Andrew was in need of a fake boyfriend.

“If I were to believe that souls were split in two and we needed to search out our soulmate, then I’d found him. He was the very missing half of me.”

As much as I laughed there are some very heartbreaking and scary moments that tugged at my heart strings and had me holding my breath.  This wonderful amazing series of love, loss, healing, growth and family truly is one of my all-time favourites.  There is nothing better than being swept away by a pretty amazing cast of characters and a strong story line. I not only loved reading about Andrew and Spencer but all the secondary characters that we got to meet along the way were such a joy to read about. I will admit that all those times we got to spend hearing about Cindy Crawford was some of my favourite moments.

“My wife drives like Satan on acid.”

Absolutely hysterical.

This series started off really strong for me and with each book it just got even better and better. This last installment is my absolute favourite one in the series. The more time I spent with these characters the more I fell in love. N.R. Walker beautifully wrote this story and you can tell she put a lot of thought into some of the heavier parts within. Absolutely brilliant. I highly recommend this series.

Excerpt Reveal: Marry Screw Kill by Liv Morris

marry screw kill excerpt

“When drowning, one grabs the first lifeline thrown without regard to

who holds the rope.”

James silences his blaring alarm clock in the early morning darkness of our

bedroom. He falls back on the bed with a sigh as I face the wall, feigning sleep.

Not moving a muscle, I wait for what comes next. He’ll either get out of bed or

climb on top of me. When I sense a slight movement from his side of the bed, I

hold my breath.

“Come here, Harlow.” His hand curls around my waist and he rolls my body

over to face him. Morning sex it is. He pushes away the tangled bed hair covering

my eyes as I blink the sleep from them. “There’s my beautiful girl.” He kisses my

forehead with a soft brush of his lips.

“Morning,” I reply in a sleepy, hoarse voice. He pulls down the twisted covers

and exposes our naked bodies. His gaze travels over me, lingering on his favorite

spots—ones he knows very well.

“What a sight to wake up to.” He hovers above my body and looks down at

me with hooded eyes. “My day is always better when I start it inside you. Now,

spread those long legs so I can fuck you.”

I part my legs and my day begins…
