Storm (Bad Boys Of X-Ops #3) by Rie Warren Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway

. . . Trust?

I’m headed back to the Blood Legion MC in New Orleans, my old stomping grounds. Guns. Thugs. Broads. Cocaine nightmares. A Mexican cartel, cracker coke runners, and now there’s a new international threat in town.

Blaize Carmichael is my only partner in this op. Blaize. As a biker babe. Jeeesus. I’ve had a bone for her from day one when she walked into headquarters—haughty, superior, and always in charge.

There’s a goddamn good chance we’ll get made, played, and put in the grave as government-issue traitors. But I can’t help it—I love to get rough, raw, dirty, and dominant with her.

No more yes ma’amno ma’am. Blaize is about to find out I don’t always takes orders as issued.

I can’t stand the way Storm calls me woman or cher or sexy. As soon as we’re back in DC, I’m going to wipe that infuriating wicked smirk right off his dangerously handsome face.

I’m always prepared for every scenario. I’ve built my career on complete professionalism in and out of the field. But when Storm comes at me with wild animal lust—when he opens up to me—when he opens me up, I can’t say no.

I don’t want to.

We’re in danger every single day we stay in NOLA. There is no way we can make it out alive. Not together. Not this time.

“T-Zone took you in when the CIA wrote you off,” Blaize scathed.

“And y’all think you were the ones doing me the favor? Baby, you’d need an extra hand to count the number of successful missions I’ve carried out for T-Z, and you goddamn know it.” I pushed her back with my huge muscled body pressing against her.

I watched her swallow, but some seriously angry heat came off her.

It only made her sexier to me.

“You got no excuses for that off-op shit you pulled tonight, and you know it. And you do not want to play this game with me tonight.” I began undressing.

Shirt tossed. Boots thrown. Belt whipped out. Pants tugged down.

Crossing my arms over my chest, I stood in front of her—a foreboding, tall, dark shadow of fully fit and ready-to-fuck man. “Lose the clothes, Blaize, before I slice and dice them with my knife.”

She sucked in a breath.

“You and I both know it’s been building to this.” With my hand curled beneath her chin, I lifted her mouth until it brushed against mine. “If you don’t want to get fucked and fucked hard by me right now you better leave this room and run tail back to DC.”

“I don’t back down from a challenge.”

I laughed. “This ain’t a challenge. It’s sex. You and me. Clothes. Off. Now.”

She undressed while I stood right up against her. Her breath hit me, her soft panting gusts of air. My eyes dipped lower when she skimmed the shirt from her shoulders. Her bra—lacy and creamy white—almost overflowed with her tits. I didn’t help her unclasp it but watched with hungry intensity when she hit the hook and it popped free.

The straps dripped off her arms, and her puffy pink nipples rasped against the hair on my chest.

I chugged in a lungful of air, balling my hands at my sides. My cock, thick and hard, wet the bare skin of her belly with a skein of pre-come.

“The jeans now.” My voice was low, thunderous, chest-deep.

She wiggled free, her breasts connecting with my abdomen, which clamped like I’d been hit by a hammer blow. Those soft swinging tits colliding against me made my head ratchet back. But I kept focus. Kept my gaze on her when she stood up.

No Fucking Panties.

Nude. Blaize. She was all golden skin and incredible eyes and glowing hair.

And heat poured off her, firing through my veins.

I stepped away, rubbing a hand across the thick black stubble on my chin. Taking her in. Filling my sights. Memorizing her.

And that little pink pout of her pussy lips—shiny and slick already—below the narrow tangle of bronze-red curls.

“Fuck, Blaize.”

She held her shoulders back, placed her hands on her hips, and asked, “Do I pass muster, sir?”

“Get on the bed. All fours.” A muscle at the back of my jaw ticked.

Her nipples hardened with my harsh words, and I watched a trail of wetness weep between her legs.

Fuuuuck me.

I didn’t touch her. Not yet. But it was damn hard not to.

I watched as her ass swayed, her hips switched back and forth, and she got into position in the middles of the bed.

I was hugely hung, hugely hard, and really fucking angry. Blaize knew it, and she was ready for me.

This mating dance was nearly over.

But I didn’t let myself get close to her yet.

She needed to understand the new rules first.

I almost trembled in my skin, walking around the bed, viewing her lush bod from every angle.

My voice thickened from my throat and came out hoarse and husky as hell. “Fair warning. You’ll be screaming tonight. Not because I took a strap to your ass like everyone downstairs expects. But because I’m about to fuck you so good. And when you have a hard time walking and sitting down tomorrow? Won’t be because I punished you. But because I screwed you all night long, cher.” I prowled onto the bed behind her. “Understand?”

In answer, Blaize drew herself up and cupped her tits. I straddled right behind her. For a moment. Running my hands over her body. Touching between her legs and pulling her back to me when her pelvis kicked forward. Sliding my palms up over the indent of her waist and holding her hands down to her sides. Lifting her breasts, massaging them, palming both mounds and thumbing across her nipples.

With my hand at the back of her neck, I slowly laid her down. Laid her out.

Josie's review

4.5 stars

I have been waiting to get by hands on Storm’s book since we were first introduced to the him in Walker.  I read the synopsis and thought oh wow Josie, this is your book – why?  Well it’s Bad Boy of X-Ops, an MC, Storm and Blaize!  (That about had me sold).

In Storm’s book we get up close and personal as Nash LaFontaine (Storm) and Blaise Carmichael (Boss Lady).   Storm and Blaise are sent back to Storm’s home town on New Orleans and back to his old life in the Blood Legion MC.  Their job is simple (yeah right, nothing with the Bad Boys of X-Ops is simple) infiltrate and bring down the infamous Blood Legion MC and stop them from smuggling guns and weapon to terrorists.  This book was very well written and packed with action, suspense, steamy scenes and unexpected twists at every turn. I could not tear my eyes away.

The tension and relationship between Storm and Blaize has been building over the past two books.  Working together on a uncover mission with no help from their team forces them to rely on each other.  The banter and sexual tension was rather apparent and funny.

“I don’t have any problem sleeping at night, do you storm?”

“Oh yeah.  Definitely.  When she was involved in the above-mentioned dreams.  I had plenty of problems.  The hard, throbbing, wanna come in her pu**y problems.”

There is no question as to why Blaize is the boss. She is one tough cookie and she is a bad-ass.  She is avid, meticulous, trained and highly opinionated.  She is not the kind of person to be seen and not heard.  She likes to take charge and has a temper that gets her and Storm into trouble on many occasions.  Her come backs and mouth had me laughing so many times.

Storm is form New Orleans and his Cajun accent and talk had me melting right away.  Storm’s past in the Blood Legion MC has him going home not only to bring down his former brothers, but also back to the family he left behind.  Having Blaize has his Ol’ lady, has Storm living out one of his dirty and kinky fantasies. One he intends to make a reality.  Storm is so passionate, sweet, caring and dominate.  His is a total alpha, one that wants to make sure Blaize is ok, but when Boss Lady is involved both their dominance gets in the way.

Blaize has a problem in letting Storm lead and her need for control has them butting heads more often than not. The struggle is real people!  Well let’s just say when Storm finally has enough, things between them finally get hot and heavy.  OMG, their sex scenes were intense, hot and fiery.  I loved watching the relationship between Blaize and Storm develop throughout the book.  The alone time, trust and bond they formed allowed them both to open about their dark and troubled pasts.    When their secrets and cover are exposed, will they both make it out alive?  When the dust has settled, will Blaize and Storm walk away together or will their time together end?  This book is a must read and I highly recommend it.

The Anatomy of Jane (WJM #1) by Amelia LeFay **Beth’s Review**

I’ve always been on my own. My life used to consist of nothing but work, keeping Allen out of trouble, and if I had time, sleep. Then I became their maid.

Every day more than half a million people tune in to watch my show. They trust me. I know it’s because I’m the only son of the prominent Emerson family. However, I like to believe it because I’m honest no matter what story I report on. I’m honest about everything but the man I’ve been f**king for the last four years… and now her.

First I want three things: First Maxwell Emerson and Jane Chapman both in my bed. Second, to be the best bloody chef in the country. Third, to figure out how to simultaneously get the first and second things I want without any of us getting hurt.

Beth's Review

3 stars

I am a huge fan of JJ McAvoy’s writing style and very creative stories so when I saw that she was writing a new book but under the pen name of Amelia LeFay, I decided to check it out the synopsis.  I do read M/M from time to time and the thing I loved most about them is the emotion that is between the main characters.  I have also read a couple of books that had the M/M/F scenario and did enjoy it so knowing I already loved this author’s amazing storytelling, I knew I had to pick this one up to review.

Max comes from a well know family that is in politics as well the fact he is a well-known reporter who wants to try his hand a politics one day.   So letting the world know that he is bi-sexual and that he has been in a relationship with well-known top chef Wesley Uhler, is not an option.  The moment Wes and Max meet Jane Chapman, their new maid, they are taken with her and make her a proposal for her to join their relationship.

I must say I was really excited to check this one out.  Although I have not read anything written under this pen name, I love everything I have read by the author.  Her stories are fresh and different and always pull me in immediately.  Sadly though, this one just did not work for me for several reasons.  First, I found the storyline that pulled Jane fully into a relationship with Max & Wes very rushed giving it a feel of things between the three of them being more about attraction and sex than actual feelings of love.  Second, which I was kind of shocked about, I actually found the storyline to be very flat and lack depth, which has never happened before with this author.  The story was more about the sex.  I do love a good erotica story but it can’t be all sex, I need a good storyline and with this one I found myself getting tired of the sex and skimming through those scenes.   Third I found that the author had a lot drama going on. There was the drama with Jane and her former boss at the night club, the drama of Max’s breaking story on the governor, the drama of Max’s secret and his parents on top of just the whole storyline of the three of them coming together and figuring it all out.  But out of all of these, none really kept me engage and they all fell really flat for me.   Last, as stated earlier, the one thing I love with M/M is the level of emotion between the main characters that we don’t always see with a M/F romance.  Even though max and Wes have been together for 4 years, I only felt attraction between them, I struggled to feel anything more.

Overall this was just an okay read.  I wanted so much more from the characters and the storyline.  This book is the first installment in this two book series and it does end in a small cliff hanger but I didn’t find it to be jaw dropping or leaving me say OMG and WTF.

About The Author

Amelia LeFay is a character of my own imagination. She’s a single woman in her mid twenties in love with sex. Dirty sex, rough sex, sex of any type. She’s not a whore or a slut. She believes a woman should be aloud to sexually express herself anyway she wishes.

She stands for Gay Rights, Women’s Rights, the rights of Minorities, and Environmental protection.

She can be a bitch but doesn’t think there is anything wrong with that.

She has uneven boobs, stretch marks on her ass, astigmatism, and thighs that rub together as she walks. (Which means no pair of jeans last as long as she wishes they would.)

But most importantly Amelia is a Dreamer…she has dreams so big it scares even her, because if she fails…if she can’t make it…she feels like nothing.

This is a spin off series but it can be read as a standalone.  I really loved the first series by Author Laura Clark and was excited that she did a spin off about Avery and Kyle who were secondary characters in the first series.

The book starts off really well and let me tell you I am not a happy camper with how the author ended the book. I hope the next book will be released soon because I need to know what happens.  I loved the chemistry between Avery and Kyle and the flirty texting they did. So we have a love triangle times two in this book. My only issue with this book is I felt some parts were a retell of the last series and focused too much on Sam and Laila. I also felt some parts were drawn out and the book was a little to slow paced at times for me.

Loved the plot twist that was tossed in at the end and I am really curious as to whom Avery is going to choose. I have a love/hate relationship with Kyle and there is something about Connor that rubs me the wrong way too. Lets not forget about Georgia. I am not a big fan of her and Avery by the end of the book had me so angry I would of loved to have gotten my hands on her and smacked some sense into her. Both of the main characters need to man up and stop running away and admit what they are feeling. Sometimes the miscommunication between them had me seeing red.  My mind is turning with all the possibilities as to what is going to happen next.  A good start to a series that I see will have me wanting to smash my kindle.

“Debt is sexy & dangerous; it has it all: age gap, hurt-comfort, suspense, sweetness, serious steam, a happy ending, and two men who refuse to give up on each other.” – Reader review

“Well written, at times heartbreaking, often touching, very sexy, and with an unforgettable storyline and characters, Debt is without a doubt one of my favourites among K.C. Well’s amazing books.” – Reader review

“Have you ever come across a book that grabs you by the heart, shakes you up, drags you through a myriad of emotions, then spits you out the other side happy and hopeful, yet wondering what happened and how you got there? Well, Debt by K.c. Wells is one of those stories.” – Reader review

“So?” Aaron nudged him again. “Which one lights your candle?” He grinned. “You’ve got to admit, there are some beautiful men in there.” He nodded toward one young man standing nearest the window. He was stroking down over his chest and well-defined abs, to where a thick cock jutted out toward them. Just then the young man turned and bent over, reaching back to spread his cheeks and reveal a pink, glistening hole, clearly lubed. He wiggled his ass, his dick bobbing stiffly.

Aaron smothered a chuckle. “Wow. He’s eager.”

That wasn’t the word in Mitch’s mind. He preferred blatant, and it wasn’t turning him on. In fact, none of them were.

“This is a mistake,” he said quietly. “Thanks for bringing me here, but honestly, this isn’t me. And there isn’t one guy who does it for me.” His gaze swept across the room, taking in the smiling, pouting faces and….

Mitch stopped, his pulse quickening. “Him.” How did I miss him?

Aaron peered in the direction of Mitch’s stare. “Which one?”

At the back of the room was a small table and a couple of armchairs facing each other. In one of them sat a young man with long, black hair tied in a single braid down his back. He was Japanese in appearance, with small, round glasses perched on his nose. Physically he was slight, not that tall as far as Mitch could tell. Unlike the others, he wore a pair of jeans and a white shirt.

What caught Mitch’s attention was the fact that he was reading a book, his legs curled up under him, lost in his own world.

“Mitch?” Aaron pinched his arm.

“Hey!” Mitch grumbled, rubbing the spot near his elbow. “What was that for?”

“You were off in cloud cuckoo land.” Aaron cocked his eyebrows. “Well? I repeat, which one?”

“The one with the book.” There was something so delightfully incongruous about him that Mitch was intrigued.

Mitch dragged his gaze away to give Aaron a firm stare. “You said to take my pick, so I pick him.” He couldn’t account for the way his body reacted to the young man. His heart pounded and his mouth was dry.

“That’s Nikko. He’s new here.”

Mitch turned toward the speaker. A dark-haired man wearing a black suit and matching shirt smiled at him. “My name is Randy. I’m here to give you any information you require.” He gave a flick of his head toward the window. “Nikko only joined us recently. Would you like to meet him, and if so, for how long?”

His heart still racing, Mitch regarded the young man who was oblivious to his surroundings. “An hour?”

Beside him Aaron chuckled. “And that’s my cue to leave.” He patted Mitch on the arm. “Enjoy, with my blessing. You can tell me all about it on Monday.”

“Thanks, Aaron.” Mitch gave him a warm smile. “And as for Monday? Uh-uh.” The smile became a grin. “I don’t kiss and tell.”

He snorted. “Spoilsport. And you have nothing to thank me for yet.” Aaron grinned. “See ya.” He walked toward the door and gave one last wave before disappearing through it.

Mitch returned his attention to Randy, who was regarding him with a hint of amusement. Mitch cleared his throat. “I’m sorry, I’m new to all this.”

Randy’s smile widened. “Then you and Nikko have something in common. Do you have your card?” Mitch held it up and Randy peered at it. “Okay, that’s fine. If you’ll come with me, please?”

He led Mitch through the door at the end of the lounge. They were in a long hallway with doors on either side. Randy escorted Mitch to door number seven and opened it. The room was small, but what it lacked in size, it made up for in furnishings. In the corner was a Chinese painted screen and a washbasin with a thick towel hanging from a rail beside it. Most of the space was taken up by a bed adorned with white sheets, a soft gray comforter, pillows, and cushions. A wide chair faced the bed, its cushions deep. There were no windows. At the head of the bed was a large mirror, and beside it, a small cabinet with two drawers.

“You’ll find condoms and packets of lube in the cabinet,” Randy said. “You’re aware of the club’s strict safe-sex policy.”

Mitch nodded. He had no problem with that. He’d never had bareback sex in his life.

“There are also some toys, should you require them. If there’s something particular you’d like, simply ask. We do cater for those clients who are into S&M, but they generally stipulate their needs ahead of time. Would that be of interest to you this evening?”

Mitch was sure his face was bright red. “Uh, not for me, thank you.”

Randy gave a polite nod. “Then I shall go and bring Nikko to you.” He exited the room.

Mitch gazed around him while he removed his jacket. He placed it on the chair and examined the prints on the wall. The room was definitely nothing like he’d expected; he’d had something much more austere in mind. A glance behind the screen revealed a toilet, tastefully hidden from view.

They really do think of everything.

Mitch scanned the walls and corners for any sign of a camera. Nothing. But from a safety aspect alone, he knew there had to be one in there somewhere.

Damn, they’re good.

He came back to the bed and sat, bouncing on it to test its springiness.

“Are we to be using it as a trampoline?” a soft voice asked.

Mitch jerked his head toward the door just as it closed gently. Nikko stood there, his fingers laced together in front of him, dark brown eyes focused on Mitch, his braid not visible, his expression impassive.

Mitch coughed and rose to his feet. “Maybe not.” He took a few steps toward Nikko, his hand extended, his belly tensed. Inwardly he cursed his uncertainty. It wasn’t as if he was a stranger to meeting guys, but after two years of being in a relationship, he felt decidedly out of practice. And this was definitely a new experience.

Nikko took his hand almost shyly and shook it, his fingers cool to the touch. “I’m Nikko.” The handshake over, he laced his fingers once more and stepped back, maintaining his distance from Mitch. His manner had Mitch retreating too.

“Is that your real name, or just one you use here?” Mitch wanted to know. When Nikko raised his eyebrows, Mitch felt the warm flush that rose up his chest and neck. “I’m sorry. This is my first time in a… in one of these places.”

Nikko became still for a moment, tension evident in his posture. When he smiled, it didn’t reach his eyes. “Then we have something in common. And to answer your question, Nikko is my real name. May I know yours?” Those eyes were captivating, a rich, deep brown framed with long, sooty black lashes, and set in a pale, unblemished face.

“I’m Mitch.” It was on the tip of his tongue to say Pleased to meet you, but the words sounded wrong given the circumstances. I don’t suppose there are etiquette rules for greeting a hooker in a brothel.

Not that Nikko resembled his preconceptions of what a hooker looked like. The young man was beautiful, maybe five foot five, six max. He felt tiny next to Mitch’s five foot eleven. Those clasped fingers were slim, his hands delicate. Mitch was reminded of one of his mother’s ethereal porcelain figurines in her china cabinet back home. They shared that same fragile quality.

“Are… are you feeling awkward too?” Nikko asked, biting his bottom lip. “You’re my first… client.” A flush crept across his cheeks and his ears turned red.

His words stirred something in Mitch’s chest, an absurd desire to enfold Nikko in his arms, to protect him. The yearning took him by surprise. Maybe it was Nikko’s slight build, his fragility, that engendered the inclination. Whatever it was, it sent a rush of warmth through Mitch’s body.

He beckoned to Nikko. “Come here.”

Slowly Nikko walked over to him, his gaze fixed on Mitch’s face. He stopped a few feet in front of him and tilted his chin up, not quite meeting Mitch’s gaze. The rapid rise and fall of Nikko’s chest, the ragged breathing, betrayed the nerves he hid. Mitch stretched out his hand to cup Nikko’s face, his large hand exaggerating the diminutive young man’s size.

“How old are you?” Mitch asked quietly. Nikko had to be barely legal.

“I-I’m twenty-two,” Nikko said in a low voice that cracked. “I know how I look, Mitch. I’m old enough to work here. This may be my first time with a client, but I’m not a virgin.”

“I never thought for a second that a virgin would be working here,” Mitch admitted. He tilted his head. “You can come closer, you know. I won’t hurt you.”

Nikko swallowed, blinking. “I… I’m sorry. It’s just that you’re not how I expected a client to be.”

Mitch took a step closer. “How did you think I would be?” He kept his voice low and soothing. Nikko reminded him of a colt he’d spent time with on his uncle’s farm as a boy. The young man gave an impression of being about to bolt at any second.

Nikko took a deep breath. “I didn’t expect to be treated with so much… respect.”

Now Mitch got it. “Come closer,” he said, coaxingly. When Nikko hesitated, Mitch gave him a warm smile. “Nikko, I meant it. I will not hurt you. I don’t have it in me to do that.”

Nikko regarded him in silence. “I believe you.” He inhaled slowly and took that last step to bring him to Mitch.

Mitch couldn’t help himself. He bent his head lower and took Nikko’s mouth in a gentle kiss. Nikko held himself still for a moment longer before putting his slim arms around Mitch’s neck and responding, his lips parting.

When Mitch broke the kiss, Nikko looked up at him with shining eyes. “Thank you.”

“For what?”

Nikko smiled, this time genuinely. “For being gentle.” His breathing hitched. “You… you make this easier than I thought it would be, Mitch.”

Mitch’s first reaction was a surge of pleasure, until a thought nagged at him. He paused, his hands on Nikko’s shoulders. “Are you here because you want to be?” Something about Nikko’s choice of words tugged at his mind.

Nikko regarded him, face calm. “I chose to be here, Mitch. Have no doubt about that.” There was no trace of deception in his voice or expression. He reached up with both hands and cupped Mitch’s face. “Kiss me again?” His Adam’s apple bobbed.

“Are you asking because you want to be kissed or because you feel you should ask?”

Nikko stared at him, lowering his hands, his eyes wide. “You are… perceptive.”

Mitch shrugged. “I use my eyes, is all. If you’d rather we sit on the bed for a while, maybe chat, that’s okay, I don’t mind.” He waited for Nikko to make the next move. The young man was skittish enough without Mitch making matters worse.

Nikko’s breathing grew more even. “Then I should like you to kiss me, because”—he stroked Mitch’s cheek, the touch light, and for the first time, he looked Mitch in the eye—“because I want you to.”

Mitch smiled. “That’s better.” He caressed Nikko’s cheek, brushing his fingertips over his cheekbones. “Because I want to kiss you.”

Nikko closed his eyes, lips parted, waiting.

Fuck. Nikko was beautiful.

This is only the second book I’ve ever read from this author and this one definitely solidified why I need to pick up the rest of her books and read them all. Debt is undoubtedly one brilliantly written story. This author has created such an exceptional story line that is engaging. The characters are so well developed that I was completely invested in them. There wasn’t a second where I wasn’t aware of the emotions that were coursing through them.  K.C. Wells has taken me on a ride that I didn’t want to get off. Every word, every scene, every detail, big and small painted such a vivid picture.  There is a darker element to the story that had me on the edge of my seat. I love it when I’m sucked into a story that takes me on an emotional tail spin, where I seriously can’t turn the page fast enough because I need to know more. I need to see more.  I could not put this story down and when I neared the end I never wanted it to end.

So reading from the blurb we see that there is definitely going to be some kind of abuse happening. So be prepared for that. Even though it fades to black we are aware of what’s going on. I definitely was on edge and my heart hurt for Nikko. This amazingly beautiful man was trapped in a situation having to do things he wouldn’t ever have wanted to do. Nikko is naïve but he’s doing what he has to do in order to save his brother. What starts off as him wanting to do something honorable turns into his worst nightmare.

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contract of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”

Mitch was Nikko’s reprieve from the awful situation he was forced into. Mitch was so caring, gentle, patient and tender towards Nikko. Their passion and need for one another was evident. I love a good sex scene and this author definitely gives us some really passionate hot ones, but I absolutely loved the times when these characters where just cuddling and being real with each other. Even though they have a huge age gap between them their relationship completely balances out. They were exactly what the other needed in and out of the bedroom. I seriously LOVED these characters.

I’m not going to go into details about the story because the blurb gives enough that you’ll know exactly what you are getting into. Just know their journey isn’t easy and the subject matter isn’t always pretty. I really hope this isn’t the end of Mitch and Nikko’s story because I have so many questions that I’d love to see answered. I really hope we get a follow up to this story. **Yes I’m talking to you K.C. Wells… I’m not above begging… I need more!** I’m not going to lie, I have this intense need to know who a certain person is and to see Karma happen. Confused?  Read this book you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

Jen's review

3.5 stars

I have to say when I first saw the blurb for this book I was immediately interested. I’ve never read anything from Bink before but I wanted to give it a go.  I’m not new to kinky stories or even dirty ones and I certainly don’t shy away from anything that is over the top explicit either.  I love sex in my stories even when there is a lot of it.  All I knew from this author is that her sex scenes are usually graphic and detailed and her writing is different. Well bring it on.

So, What the heck did I just read??   Yep I went there.  Here’s what I liked…

I really liked how this story is told. It’s definitely in 1st person but with a twist.  We get both Asher and Justin’s POV’s but the way they tell their story they really bring you into their world literally. Like you are a confidant, a friend, someone sitting in the room being spoken directly to.  I’ve read a few book that was told this way and I really think this author does a great job making the reader feel like they are a part of their journey.

The sex scenes were exactly what Binks promised. Scorching hot and lots of them. They definitely delivered!  I didn’t find them over the top kinky though. There is daddy/boy play but it really went beyond the bedroom so it just became who they were and what they needed from each other.

“Some people find it gross, or taboo, but it works for us. Justin likes being my Daddy, and I love being his boy. It feeds our needs, no matter how fucked up they are.”

I have to admit I think I would have enjoyed this story a lot more had it been a full length novel. We really get a taste of who these guys are and what they are to each other. But everything happens really fast that it left me feeling a bit unsatisfied where the story line was concerned. I really wish things would have been slowed down so we really could have delved deeper into these characters and their journey. The sex scenes aside in this book the story its self if really fast paced and I really wish we had more.

I’m not going to go into any details of the story, I think the blurb says it all. If you are looking for a quick story with a lot of sex and are curious about the dynamics between daddy/boy play and/or you are a fan of this author then this story is one you’ll want to try.

Releasing May 20, 2016
Ravenswood Publishing

After the tragic loss of her husband, Annie and her young son search for a new life full of meaning and hope. Fate nudges Annie into the arms of a man whose wife disappeared with his child years ago.

Annie’s life spins out of control when first the pregnant teenager she hires to help her with her garden asks Annie to adopt her baby and shortly afterwards the long-lost wife of the man Annie loves reappears.

Riddled with grief and heartache, the experiences demonstrate how, even in the face of overwhelming sorrow, opening her heart and home to those most in need of love has reaped unexpected joy for Annie and her son.

A cream-colored blanket covered him from the waist down, a white sheet folded over at the edge. Gauze shielded the top part of his head and a black accordion tube snaked out of his mouth.  Machines surrounded his bed, blinking and beeping, the rhythm oddly calming.

He was alive.

Annie laced her fingers with his and squeezed, willing her energy to pass through him, as if her touch could keep him more alive than the contraptions. She leaned over the side of the bed, kissed his cheek, inhaling the sickeningly sweet scent of Betadine.

Suddenly the beeps burst to life, louder, more insistent and irritating. A thin blue line, straight and flat, slid across the black screen on the monitor above his bed.

Firm hands grasped Annie’s shoulders and pulled her away from his bedside.

“What are you doing? Stop! What’s happening?”

A nurse tugged on Annie’s arm and led her through the doorway. “Mrs. Davidson. You have to leave the room. Now.”

Annie glanced back at Cam before passing the room’s threshold, shuffled backward into the hallway and banged against the wall. Doctors and nurses raced from all directions and funneled to Cam’s bedside.

She stared at the closed door to Cameron’s room, her eyes burning. “Please, God, save him. I need him. Rafe needs him. Don’t let him die.” No matter how busy God was, helping other people in the world, perhaps Annie’s personal plea would reach Him.

She envisioned a happy scenario. Cam was going to pull through. She knew it.

The door swung open. Dr. Tsao walked out slowly, eyes and head angled down until she reached the middle of the wide hallway. Annie pushed away from the wall. Their eyes met.

The doctor didn’t have to say a word. The downward twist of her lips, the flat glaze of her eyes. Annie knew Dr. Tsao wouldn’t be uttering the words she hoped to hear.

Josie's review

4.5 stars

Passing Through Brandiss was a real emotional and touching read that I found so enjoyable.  After I read the blurb I thought I knew what I was going to get in this book and I am happy to say that I got more than bargained for.  This story was written in a way where it was not over dramatized with over the top angst. It was more of a journey of letting go and moving forward despite the many obstacles that are thrown at you.  The story starts off with a tragedy for Annie that leaves her world in shambles.  This story is told in first person and although I normally like to get dual POV’s I am glad it we only got Annie’s.

Two years after the loss of her husband, Annie picks up her son, Rafe and decides they need to start over somewhere else.  There journey leads them to the small town of Brandiss.  The town and people in Brandiss welcome the young mother and son and things start to look up for the small family.  I absolutely adored the relationship Annie had with her son.  The love Annie had for her son was just so amazing. She never made decisions unless she spoke with him.  She made sure Rafe felt and knew he mattered.

As the story progresses, Annie experiences more disappointments in life. I loved the way the author describes and details Annie’s fight to move forward without pain or guilt. It was simply amazing.  Annie lives with her loss and never forgets the love she had for her husband but she also knows to truly be happy again she has to look toward the future.

Prescott was such an amazing character. He also is going through a lot in his life, a loss so great and debilitating that he is stuck in limbo.  This man broke my heart, no one should have to suffer with the pain he goes through.  Because of Annie and Rafe he starts to see that a future filled with hope, love and a family is possible.  The relationship between Annie and Prescott is slow building and steady. They have a second chance at love and want things to be right.  The comfort and chemistry of their relationship was unique and natural.  I really appreciated how the author did not over do the sex in the story. The focus was on their characters and their struggle to let go of the guilt and memories.  This couple will experience heartache and a situation from Prescott’s past will not only test the bond of their relationship but will also reinforce their love and commitment to each other.  This story was such a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Excerpt Reveal: Give Me You by Caisey Quinn

The library smells like hundred-year-old paper and dust. But I love it. It’s peaceful. Like a church—minus the judgment.

Skylar watches my face as we enter, and I pretend not to notice. But I know what he sees. My mouth dropping at the sight of the cathedral ceilings, my eyes brightening as they scan sky scraping towers of books.

“This place is really getting you off, isn’t it? I can’t help but wonder if you’d look this worked up after a raging orgasm. Let’s find out, shall we?”

I ignore him. I’ve gotten used to his in inappropriate banter. Mostly. When he whispers dirty things to me in public, and especially in close proximity to our roommates, I still blush. And worse, used to it or not, Skylar Martin affects me. My stomach tenses at his request. He’s only half kidding, maybe not even half. My heart beats a little heavier against my chest and I work hard to appear unfazed.

We trade under the table kicks and above the table flirty jabs for the next hour while I study. At one point I catch him watching me chewing on my pencil as if I’m purposely seducing him with my nerdy habits.

When the witty banter subsides and the tension thickens between us to a point where I can barely sit still, I stand and make my way to the reference stacks in the back of the room.

“Corin,” he says evenly from behind me once I’ve reached a dead end between rows. “Stop, please. I want to talk. Actually talk.”

I turn around and smirk at him. “Funny, I don’t think you’ve stopped talking since we got here.”

He shakes his head. “No. I want to cut the bullshit for one night. Say something real, dammit.”

“Something real, dammit,” I repeat.

His eyes are bright, emergency flares in the darkness aimed at me with a ferocious intensity that presses me further against the wall. “No more games, Corin. Not tonight.”

Realizing I’ve been holding my breath, I exhale and then inhale deeply, causing my chest to graze lightly against his. My nipples practically high-five his. God, he smells so good. I would drink whatever body wash he uses with a straw.

“What do you want me to say, Skylar? That I’m attracted to you? That I want you? That every time you open your mouth I wish it was on me? I’m not going to say any of that. Because you already fucking know it.” My teeth are clenched in frustration but voice is so breathy that it’s embarrassing.

“That’s a start. Either you’re in to me or you aren’t, Corin. If you aren’t, say the word and I’ll leave you be. But I’m done playing this mind-fucking game with you.”

“You’re what? A virgin? Saving yourself? What?”

I shake my head. He wouldn’t understand. You don’t tell a guy you have a minor flirtation with that you had a miscarriage after your piece of shit boyfriend “accidentally” knocked you down a flight of stairs in your shitty apartment. Or that you ran away at fifteen to escape a mother who treated the living room like a brothel only to end up exactly like her. You sure as hell don’t tell him how the guy who knocked you up pimped you out to his friends for money or that being pregnant at eighteen made you feel like you might actually have one good thing in your life. But you lost that too so you ended up here trying desperately to create some semblance of a future for yourself. No, no way in hell.

“I’m celibate,” is all I give him because it’s all I have to give. “For personal reasons that are none of your business.”

He scoffs, and I’m overcome by the urge to slap his handsome face.

“Don’t scoff at me, Skylar. I’ve had sex. I know what it’s all about. There’s nothing wrong with it. I’m just not going to do it again until I decide to.”

His brows thread inward. “And what do you think will make you decide to? Tequila?”

Bastard. My hands thrust out and shove against his hard chest. “Move, asshole. Better yet, go to hell.”

“Not until you tell me why—why you’re celibate and why you look at me like you want to eat me alive only to dip out immediately after any conversation or moment that ventures beyond surface level.”

I bite my lip hard because I did not know he’d caught those looks. Or my tendency to duck and hide to avoid intimacy. Turns out you’re not as smooth as you thought, Connelly. He’s been paying closer attention than I realized. But I’m still not ready to cut myself open and let all the ugly fall out.

“I’m not like Layla, Skylar. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, a lifetime’s worth already, ones I’m trying very hard not to repeat. I don’t want to get sidetracked by sex-that’s not what I’m here for.”

“What are you here for, Corin? I’m not trying to be a dick. I genuinely want to know. I feel like we talk around everything but never actually about anything.”

I tilt my chin up because everyone else who knows me would laugh if they knew why I was really here. “I want to go to law school—and before you burst out laughing—yes, I’m serious. I want to be a child advocate. It’s a job I heard of where you’re like a legal voice for kids who need someone to make sure they end up somewhere good and safe. Not all of us had that growing up. So I’m sorry if your precious male pride is wounded because my legs didn’t fall open the second you indicated that you were interested. If that’s what you’re looking for, look elsewhere.”

He gapes at me and I do an internal fist pump at leaving his arrogant ass speechless for once. Taking advantage of his moment of stunned weakness, I move past him but somehow his hand shoots out and catches me. Strong warm fingers encircle my upper arm, gripping tightly enough to dent my flesh but not enough to hurt.

“Corin. Stop. I need you to listen to me very carefully.”

My skin tingles to the point of searing where his fingers are. I glance down and stare at our joined flesh.

“You listening, sweetheart?”

Swallowing hard, I nod.

“I am not every other guy you’ve been with. Yes, I am attracted to you. Yes, I would like to fuck your sweet body into submission because you are always fighting me and what you feel for me. But rest assured, I do not put this much effort into anything or anyone that I don’t care about. I like you. I want to continue getting to know you. And maybe I’ve done a shit job of showing it with the innuendos and teasing, but I respect the hell out of you.”

His words have a direct line to whatever body part controls my heart rate. I make a mental note to ask in anatomy class.

“You do?”

He smirks as if I’m ridiculous not to realize this and releases my arm. I breathe a little easier though I kind of miss the contact.

“Of course I do. You’re smart, and funny, and beautiful. You’re a loyal friend to your roommate from what I’ve seen and even though I’ve never heard of what you want to be when you grow up, I know it’s a hell of a lot nobler than my career choice. So yes, baby. I respect you very much. I just wish you weren’t so closed off sometimes.”

I’m closed off because you wouldn’t respect me if you really knew me.

The words “I would like to fuck your sweet body into submission” just keep circling my brain on a constant loop. How easy it would be to let him. To give up control and just let go and let him give me what we both know I need. But I know how that vicious cycle plays out. Soon I’d be using sex to validate our relationship and then I’d be using it to gage my own self-worth.

I will not be that girl again, not even for this beautiful man who swears he respects me.

“I’ll work on that,” I finally say, easing the tension just a fraction. “I’ll try to at least.”

His eyes cloud over, his gaze growing darker by the minute.

“Do you want me to leave you alone, Corin? Because I’m tough enough to take it if that’s what you want.”

I can’t help but think of the accident, the way he had Landen’s back without hesitation, and how much fun we had later that night, just hanging out. As much as I’ve prided myself on not needing anyone, on not needing a man in my life period, and is certifiably crazy as this particular man makes me, the thought of him leaving me alone as he put it is painful.

“No,” I whisper. “I don’t want that. I just want…”

What the fuck do I want?

Apparently Skylar wants to know the same thing.

“Well…what the hell do you want?”

My mouth tugs upward at our similar line of thinking. I keep picturing Ryan Gosling screaming a similar question at Rachel McAdams.

Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes briefly. “I want…I want to know where we stand at all times. I need boundaries. I want to know that you aren’t going to hook up with the next thing that walks by just because I’m not giving it up. I want us to draw a line, I guess.”

“A line?” He arches a brow and folds his arms over his chest. “What kind of line?”

“A friendship line,” I say, formulating my theory as I’m speaking it. “I want us to be friends who are getting to know each other like you said. And I want to keep it at that until we reach a mutual decision about whether or not we want to be more. But even if we decided to be more, I still might not be ready for a sexual relationship. Do you think you can handle that?”

Please say yes. It’s a lot to ask of a red-blooded American nineteen year-old male. I know this. I just need a little more effort. And some patience.

Skylar strokes his chin thoughtfully. He’s making me sweat—dragging it out the same way I’ve done to him. I examine my Lincoln Park After Dark manicure as if I couldn’t care less what his answer is.

But I care, God do I care. And he apparently has more patience than I do.

“For God sake’s Martin, say something.”

His lips twitch. “I’m thinking it over. For the most part it’s a reasonable enough offer, but my dick thinks you’re a mean, mean, girl.”

My eyebrows lift and I flash him an amused smile. “Well my body thinks you’re overestimating your ability to fuck it into submission.”

I win. Skylar looks like I just hit him with a flying throat punch.

Tension ripples his angular jaw line and I have the strangest urge to lick it. Damn hormones. They are not cooperating at all.

“Corin…I’m going to back down on the inappropriate comments the best that I can.” He leans into my space but I refuse to budge. I remain statue still as he moves my hair off my left shoulder. “But trust me when I tell you, I could do things to your body that you don’t even have names for. And I feel it, the way you tremble when I touch you unexpectedly, the way you clench your delectable thighs together when I say those dirty things in your ear. So please, inform any parts of your anatomy that doubt me that I will be proving them all kinds of wrong as soon as you give me permission to do so.”

His erotic promise lingers in the air between us. It wraps around me like a boa constrictor, starting at my throat and squeezing hardest low in my stomach.

“So the line,” I choke out.

“Yes, Red. You can have your line.” He winks, gracing me with a wicked grin. “For now.”

Present Day

DEREK PEARSON PUSHED open the door of Leighton, Finley & Associates, and stepped out on the paved sidewalk. It was the first day of August, and if the sweltering Floridian sun was any indication, today was going to be hotter than hell’s waiting room.

As he strolled toward the curb, he pulled a pack of Marlboros from the pocket of his shorts and flipped open the top. He needed a fucking cigarette after watching Daniel Finley and his damn professor get all sappy and shit. That was gonna get old real quick if he had to stomach their nauseating displays of I love yous longer than the fifteen minutes he’d been in there. But he’d known he had to make an appearance sooner or later; otherwise Danny boy would’ve shown up asking questions. Questions he wasn’t ready to answer.

There’d been a reason he hadn’t come around to see Finn when he first moved back from Chicago two months ago, but it wasn’t something he was in the mood to talk about yet, even if he was one of the two people on the planet who would get all the shit he’d been dealing with.

Yeah… He just wasn’t ready to go there.

With a smoke between his lips, he lit up, then shoved the pack back in his shorts. He was so damn antsy lately, and for that he could thank his brother, Alan.

He walked around to the side of his Jeep and pulled open the door. After climbing inside, he grabbed his cell phone and stared at the dark screen, contemplating his next move.

Am I really planning to do this?

Fuck, it seemed that he was, even when he knew better.

If he did this, it would be nothing more than a Band-Aid over the real problem. A shot to numb the more painful issues he was dealing with right now. He would be slipping back into a pattern he had pulled himself out of. An addiction he’d broken free from. But he was also aware that if he didn’t do it, the alternative would be to spiral out of control, and solitude was no longer helping his fucked-up nerves.

He brought the phone to his ear and waited. The phone rang and rang, and fucking rang, until he was close to hanging up—and then it connected.

“You free?” were the only two words out of his mouth. He waited, not caring to pursue small talk. That wasn’t what this was about. All he cared about in that moment was getting what he needed.

When an affirmative came through the phone, he hung up, tossed it on the dashboard, and brought the Jeep to life. As he sped across town, he white-knuckled the steering wheel and didn’t allow himself to think about the consequences of what he was about to do.

It took him less than ten minutes to pull into the underground parking garage of The Palisades and take the elevator up to where his drug of choice waited for him. He glanced up into the camera in the corner of his metallic confines and stared boldly into the face of the one who was waiting at the other end of this ride.

Yeah, he was about to fall off the fucking wagon big time. Was about to slide back into the one place he promised himself he wouldn’t go again. Yet as the elevator came to a halt and the doors opened, there was no denying this was exactly what he wanted.

“I have thirty minutes,” were the words that greeted him.

Derek walked off the elevator and over to the naked man waiting for him. He took the haughty chin between his thumb and forefinger and promised in a voice thick with arousal, “I only need ten. Take me to your room, Jordan. Time’s a wasting.”

Devil’s Kiss will be $3.99 for the first week and then go to the regular price of $4.99

Finley (Sunset Cove Series #1)

It’s time to come home, Finn.

It’s been seven years since Daniel Finley left his hometown in Florida for the hustle and bustle of Chicago’s city life.

Since then, he’s worked hard for his position at the prestigious law firm Leighton & Associates, even when it’s caused distance and isolation from his family and friends. But that’s all about to change.

On his thirtieth birthday, he receives the one thing he never dared hope for. Something that was promised to him years earlier—a note. One simple sentence from the man he’s never been able to forget.

Six words will forever change the course of their lives.

Brantley Hayes has it all. Or so he thinks. When he first made the decision to take a job down in Florida, his family thought he was crazy. But, after years of living in the quiet beach town, he finally feels a sense of community. He’s surrounded himself with friends who are like family, has a job he loves, and owns a spectacular beachfront property that is his sanctuary.

Yet he still feels unfulfilled, as if a piece of the puzzle is missing, and he knows exactly which piece it is. On an impulse, he follows through with a promise he made years earlier. A promise to call home the one he sent away.

Nothing is as simple as it seems.

After years of separation, the former lovers are reunited, but Brantley wasn’t expecting to encounter the high walls now guarding Daniel’s heart.

Daniel may not be the same person he was when he left, but he knows that the first step to healing is the note in his hand.

“Thank you for picking up.”
“You’re welcome. But I haven’t done anything.”
“You answered,
That’s everything to someone with nothing.”

Ella Frank’s talent knows no bounds. She has once again brought us a story with so much heart and passion. A beautiful story with some pretty incredible characters and a story line that is jaw dropping, heart meltingly delicious.

I seriously loved this book. I loved everything about it. From start to finish there isn’t a second that isn’t engaging. Derek and Jordon’s journey is such a wonderful slow burn.  These characters are intense, they are strong and they are so freaking lovable. I just finished this story and I’m having trouble putting into words just how I’m feeling. This story is everything. Exactly why I love to read and most importantly why I love m/m so much. Everything was just absolutely perfect.  Even when it wasn’t.
We met Jordan and Derek from Finn’s book. We had an idea that there was something going on between these two but we never got the whole story. Mostly what we knew was there definitely was a story there that needed to be told.  Well thank you Ella because this story gave me more than I could have hoped for.

Derek really had had such a shitty upbringing. My heart completely broke from him because of everything he’s had to endure at the hands of his father. I loved how Ella brilliantly created this character that got beat down but could not be broken. No matter what was going on Derek always got back up and kept going. I really loved that Jordan become that guy that would always be there no matter what, no matter how much time passed.

Jordan and Derek’s journey to their HEA doesn’t happen overnight. Their story spans years.  From the second these two cross paths you can really feel the pull between them. The chemistry between them is off the charts. The sexual tension between them is electric and left me salivating for more. Ella Frank kept this reader so consumed. These men are so freaking hot and sexy. When they come together it is everything. So many feels!  There is no doubt throughout the story that these men need to be together, should be together and want to be together, but there is always something standing in their way. Timing is everything.

This was so much more than acting on something they’d been tiptoeing around for years. This…this was everything, and he wasn’t’ ready for everything right now.

“One of these days, we will get this right.”

I really loved that the roles in the bedroom were reversed. Derek is brawny, muscular, tattooed, the epitome of a badass. Where Jordan was shorter, leaner, more flamboyant. You’d think Derek would be the one to have total control in the bedroom but thank god he didn’t because it just made it that much hotter.

“just so we’re clear, no one fucks me.”

There are some heart breaking moments within the story line and definitely some angst filled moments. The banter between these guys is hilarious and the sex is scorching hot. There isn’t anything I didn’t love in this story. I honestly didn’t want it to end.  This is exactly why this author has become an auto buy for me. There is nothing she can write that I won’t read. I cannot wait to see what else Ella Frank brings us next.
