Roman’s Having Sex Again by Nikki Ashton Release Blitz, Review & Giveaway

“My life is shite, and more boring than an iced finger – it’s basically bread for goodness sake; where’s the cream? To top it all off my boss, Roman ‘The Ego’ Hepburn, hates me.”

Summer James has suffered a devastating change to her life, one that could shape her future and to make matters worse she now has a new boss. Not such a major problem, some would think, but that boss is Roman Hepburn. He’s rude, grouchy and impatient and has a damn fine ass!

Very quickly her feelings for the dark, brooding, Roman change and it soon becomes evident that some highly charged sexual tension has been bubbling under the surface, and Roman makes it clear that he intends to make Summer his.

Will Roman succeed in getting the girl, and if he does will he succeed in keeping the girl? Or will circumstances and Roman’s hilariously strange, but loveable family, send Summer tottering to the hills on her six inch heels?

This is a sexy, fun romance with some laugh out loud moments. Full of quirky characters, broody men and feisty women you won’t be disappointed.

This is the first book I have read by this author. It has a great mix of romance and humor. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and found the book very entertaining.  It had some serious issues too but the writing style was easy to read and kept me hooked from start to finish.

Roman and Summer’s relationship was very interesting. You could feel the tension and attraction they had for each other and I loved how Summer tried to fight it.  Roman was a hottie but he was as Summer called him, “Grumpy” too.  He was always yelling at her and you knew there was a reason for his attitude and couldn’t wait to find out exactly what was his problem.

“Grumpy: Stop playing with Doolittle and get my shirt!”

One of the serious issues in the story was Summer’s medical issue and health worries. This layer added a little bit of drama to the story. It is nice to see a Romance novel that hits on a serious subject and isn’t all fluff. It had some depth to it. The chemistry between the two was fantastic and the back and forth banter defiantly kept me entertained.

“Do you wake up every morning with a plan on how you’re going to piss me off? Roman asked without looking up from an invoice that he was studying. “No not really. “I shrugged. “It just comes naturally somehow.”

If you are looking for a easy to read romantic comedy with a great bunch of characters and a few plot twists you might want to give this one a try.

I shouldn’t have remembered him.

He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn’t know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.

But I could feel him.

The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.

The second time was different.

He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.

That was just the beginning.

He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…

Author Information

I didn’t begin writing until after undergraduate college. There’d been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can’t blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I’m hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.

There are certain things I look for when I give a book a 5 Star rating.  I have to feel connected with the story, characters and I have to feel like I am right there in the story and this story gave me that and so much more.  I’ve read books from this author in the past and I love her unique writing style.  Every time I read one of her books I always seem to fall in love with her characters and I always take something away from her stories.   This story is a modern day fairytale with an added twist.   Don’t Speak is the retelling of The Little Mermaid but let me tell you that this author nailed it.

We are introduced to Laire, she’s a simple girl from a fishermen town in the Outer Banks.  The town itself is basically stuck in the time and hidden from the outside world.  She’s doesn’t know much of the world but is intrigued and eager to learn more.  Her curiosity brings her face to face with the wealthy, worldly and sexy Erik, the governors son.  Erik has it all. He can and has had a number of girls, but Laire’s naivety, innocence and beauty has him hooked.    They both come from very different world’s but they are so intrigued by one another.

Their connection and romance is sweet and innocent. The families don’t want them together so their relationship starts off as a secret.  Erik and Laurens relationship was so intriguing, their secret moments, touches, kisses and promises was so beautiful. I loved that they were both devoted to one another. Outside forces, misunderstandings and time will threaten the very foundation they built but that’s the thing true love can withstand all.  Even though Erik stole my heart in this book, I have to say Laire was the winner in this book.  We watch this young and naïve girl grow to be a strong, fearless woman.  She went through such a hard time and yet her perseverance never faltered.  I really loved watching Erik and Laire’s journey played out.  This book is filled with drama, angst, first love, second chances and heartache- what’s not to love.   You’ve got to pick this book up and fall in love with a modern version of The Little Mermaid, you won’t be sorry.

Steel (Night Rebels MC #1) by Chiah Wilder Release Tour, Review & Giveaway

Title: Steel
Series: Night Rebels MC #1
Author: Chiah Wilder
Genre: MC Romance
Release: February 23, 2017

A fierce and feared warrior. His name is Steel, and he’s President of the Night Rebels MC. Part Navajo, part Irish, Steel is a respected leader of his brotherhood. With his tatted muscular body, ebony hair, and green eyes, he is a magnet to women. Never turning away a sexy body, he indulges in casual sex, but nothing more.

For him, defending his brotherhood and protecting his teenage daughter are foremost. Falling in love and being in a long term relationship don’t even make it on his list. He gave his heart to a woman when he was young and weak, but now he’s strong and has no room in his heart for love.

Then he meets his daughter’s social worker. His attraction to her is intense. Desire flares through him, and he’s drawn to her in a way that angers him. He doesn’t have time for a woman, but he can’t get the feisty, spirited caseworker out of his mind.
He wants to run his callused fingers through her hair.

He wants to crush his mouth to hers

He wants to devour her.

But she resists him. No woman has ever resisted him.

When he looks into her eyes, he sees the depths of sorrow and a spark of passion. She’s touched him. He’s never wanted a woman as much as he wants her.
And he always gets what he wants…no matter what.

From the moment Breanna Quine laid eyes on the rugged biker, her body betrayed her. And when she spotted the outlaw’s MC patch on his leather jacket, her blood turned to ice.

Hating bikers since her father gave up his family for the brotherhood, Breanna swore to never be around them again. Then the captivating Night Rebels President’s blazing, green-eyed gaze catches hers, and she is drawn to him like a moth is to fire.

But she can’t let herself fall for him, no matter how much her body buzzes whenever she is near him. As hard as she tries to fight her attraction to the dark, dangerous man, her resistance is weakening. Then when she sees his tenderness toward his daughter, it melts her heart. She has to keep reminding herself that he’s not only a biker, but he’s the worst kind—an outlaw.

Steel has his hands full trying to figure out who is supplying drugs to the teens of Alina, Colorado. Time is running out for him as danger comes knocking at his door threatening to destroy his family and the woman whom he has vowed to make his own.

Can two independent people put their past behind them in order to come together? Will they fight for love against the shadows and the danger that lurks all around them, threatening to destroy them forever?

I’ve read the Insurgents MC by this author and was so excited to learn she’d be introducing a new MC series, The Night Rebels.  I’ve grown to appreciate this authors writing style because she isn’t afraid to go outside of the box and take on gritty and hard story lines.  Steele’s book touches on the issue of drug abuse in Native American life and bullying. These subject matters were handled exceptionally well in this story.  I couldn’t put this story down and literally went from page 1 to “the end” in one sitting.

Steel is a mix of  Navajo Indian/ Irish. He’s the president of the Night Rebels MC and he’s proud of his title and his heritage.  He’s not into relationships but he’s very protective of his mother, MC and his people.  We see how hard it is for the Navajo people  as well as the negative and cruel role “social services” plays.   Steel does not trust in the system. The very system that tells him he is not capable of providing and protecting his daughter Chenoa, a drug addict.  Breanna is the social worker assigned to his daughter and family’s case.  She’s a tough cookie, one that doesn’t believe that caring for the Navajo people is only a job.  She gives 100% of herself to Chenoa and Steel’s family.

When Breanna and Steel meet not only are things violate it’s  smoking hot.  I loved how the author handles their relationship both are hesitant and rightfully so.   I enjoyed reading how Steel fights his feelings not only for the system but also for Breanna.  He saw she was different than the others before but he had a hard time letting go.  Breanna didn’t let his negativity and cruel remarks deter her, she loved what she did.  Breanna and Steel form a bond and relationship so beautiful and strong that nothing could tear them down.

We get to see how harsh a life style with drugs truly is and I’m so glad the author didn’t sugar coat it.  It was ugly, painful and it broke my heart but this story was necessary. I really appreciate how the bullying issue within the story was handled. We live in a world that makes fun or dishes out cruelty because someone is different.  The author takes us inside the world of bullying and shows readers how cruel and hurtful words and actions can be.  I’ve never witnessed first hand how hard life is for Native Americans but in this book I felt like I got a glimpse.  The authors words and descriptions took me inside the life and homes on a reservation and I felt their struggle.  I love when an author can make me not only fall in love but also give me a reality  check and have me reflecting on my own life.  This is what I look for in a 5 Star book, a book that can make me feel all kinds of emotions.  Steel was a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Chiah Wilder is the author of Hawk’s Property, the first book in the Insurgents MC Series. It is a full length, standalone novel. Its release date is set for October 27, 2015.
Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.
Her love of reading has always be center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her Insurgents series. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, biker romances with rough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.
Returning to writing has been a dream come true. Writing and publishing Hawk’s Property has been an amazing journey, and she is happy to share the Insurgents family with her readers. She is busy writing her next book in the series.
Chiah would love to hear from you. You can contact her at:

Imago (Imago #1) by N.R. Walker **Jen’s Review**

Nerdy, introverted genius lepidopterist, Lawson Gale, is an expert on butterflies. He finds himself in a small town in Tasmania on a quest from an old professor to find an elusive species that may or may not even exist.

Local Parks and Wildlife officer, Jack Brighton, is an ordinary guy who loves his life in the sleepy town of Scottsdale. Along with his Border collie dog, Rosemary, his job, and good friends, he has enough to keep from being lonely.

But then he meets Lawson, and he knows he’s met someone special. There’s more to catching butterflies, Jack realises. Sometimes the most elusive creatures wear bowties, and sometimes they can’t be caught at all.

Lawson soon learns there are butterflies he can’t learn about it in books. They exist only in a touch, in a kiss, in a smile. He just has to let go first, so these butterflies can fly.

Imago is the story of finding love, bowties, and butterflies.

I really had no idea what this story was about but because I love everything this author writes I was more than happy to dig in without even reading the blurb however now that I’ve read the story that cover is seriously perfect.  Love, Bow ties and Butterflies Yes please!

We follow Lawson and Jack who meet after plane ride back to Jack’s home state. To say that first impressions didn’t go well is putting it mildly. At least where Lawson is concerned, but thankfully because of an error with a rental car company things quickly go from zero to “have dinner with me” in a relatively short time frame. And thus starts this wonderful journey of two men who never knew what they were missing until they gave each other a chance.

Lawson and Jack are such easy going characters I really couldn’t help but fall in love with them. I really loved the dynamics between these two guys. From the moment they had a conversation it was lust at first sight and yes it was pretty much insta love but it worked for them. They just fit together. There wasn’t any games, no mixed messages, no miscommunication, their personalities just meshed so well together.

All the qualities that made Lawson socially awkward, the way he spoke, the fact that he didn’t have a filter, said what needed to be said, the way he dressed, his job, are the exact things that attracted Jack to him.  Lawson’s prim and proper speech, the way he carries himself and the fact that he wore bowties had Jack completely enamored to him. Nothing sexier to him than listening to this man speak of his work and his passion no matter how nerdy it made him sound.  Where most people outside of Lawson’s employment would make assumptions or make fun of him, Jack was completely bewitched.  These men were absolutely adorable together.

Lawson is this sexy, nerdy guy who marches to his own beat. He really doesn’t fit the mold. He’s not self-conscious at all, in fact , I loved that he was this proper speaking, nerdy guy who wasn’t afraid to take chances and go after what he wanted. I really loved that when he really let loose during those hot and steamy moments he really showed another side to the proper put together guy he normally is.

Jack was just amazing too. The story focuses on these two guys working side by side doing their jobs but also pretty much spending every waking moment together for the short time they have while Lawson is there for work.  I loved all the moments they shared together, their dates, their talks, the tender moments. Everything was just so perfect, sweet and honest.

This story is super cute with no angst, it’s so sweet with so much adoration that it will leave you smiling. One that any N.R. Walker fan will love.

“It was sooo good and I am sooo excited that this was my first Lani Lynn Vale book…gasp….can you believe I have not read one of her books yet??” – iScream Books

“New guy.”  Someone muttered behind me.
I turned only my head to find Stone, the president, staring at me with hard eyes.
“Yeah?” I asked him, dropping my bag on the floor and heading in his direction instead of out the door like I’d originally intended.
“You’re here because you have a special set of skills that we need.”  The leader of the band of misfits, Stone, drawled.
I nearly laughed.
“That sounds like a bad line out of a movie.” I muttered, wondering where he was going with this.
He tossed me a glare and then yelled.
“Truth!”  Stone yelled.  “Ghost! Get the fuck in here!”
Ghost and Truth walked in the door at the same time, both of them turning to the side to walk inside, and stared at Stone
“Ghost, hold Truth down so New Guy can give him the fuckin’ shot.” Stone grumbled.
Ghost tackled Truth and wrestled him to the desk, then sat on him while Stone leaned back and watched.
“No, motherfucker!” Truth yelled.  “I don’t want it!”
“It’s the fuckin’ flu shot, you dumb shit.  Not a fuckin’ tracking device. Take a fuckin’ chill pill.”  Stone grumbled, staring at the scuffle that was going down in front of him.
I picked up the syringe from the table, similar to the one I’d given everybody else’s flu shot with, and stabbed it in the meat of Truth’s arm.
Truth bellowed in rage, and I flipped the guard up on the syringe before tossing it into the trash can.
“Done?” I asked Stone.  “I have to get to work.”
Stone nodded.
“Yeah, thanks.” He nodded. “Have fun at the nut house.”
I grunted something unintelligible, causing him to laugh.
“Don’t sound so excited.” He laughed.
I flipped him off and walked out the door just as Ghost was letting Truth up
“Why you gotta be such a big motherfucker?”  Truth growled.  “If you’d been anyone else, I’d have gotten away.”
“Why do you think I called Ghost instead of anyone else?”  I heard Stone reply.

I had no doubt that this new series by Lani would start off with a bang, it’s Lani Lynn Vale! When I see this name attached to a book I know I’m in for a treat and as usual she didn’t disappoint.  She has this unique way of tearing me down through her story lines and characters, only to bring me up with a huge smile on my face. This book is filled with drama, suspense, violence, panty dropping steamy moments and a lot of humor.

Imogen was perfect, she’s is a former Marine and a total ass kicker.  A pixie sized, sexy, disheveled woman that was nothing short of a riot.  Imogen does anything for those she loves, she makes some mistakes and makes poor decisions but her heart is always in the right place.   Aaron well let’s say he served country only to come back  to a crazy ex-wife who did more damage to him than war did.  Aaron moves to Alabama and becomes part of the Dixie Warden Rejects and let me tell you this group of misfits are so lovable, funny, loyal and sexy.  Aaron is gorgeous but scarred from his pasts. Even angry and distant I was drawn to his characters charm and personality as I was to Imogen.

Aaron doesn’t do relationships anymore but from the moment Imogen steps into his life he’s taking in with her unique type of beauty.    It doesn’t help that they are next door neighbors and constantly running into each other.  I loved how the author handled their relationship. It was slow, cautious and perfect for these characters.  Their banter and love of books was so funny and sweet.  Imogen found a way to bulldoze her way into Aarons heart and even though he tried to stay away he was really happy to fall.  Because this is Lani Lynn Vale you can bet on Aaron being a total alpha male. This man was stacked with yummy goodness and tattoos. I just loved everything about him.

This was a fast paced book, the danger and the budding romance had me glued to this book and  I’m not going to even speak on the hot sex scenes (OK I will… SO HAWT).  I’m not sure how this author does it but every time I’m finished a book, I hate to see it end.  The characters and side characters in this story bring so much depth and intrigue.  We meet new members of the MC and are introduced to a new story lines that I can’t wait for.

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.

Sometimes facing defeat is the only way to find yourself redeemed.

Chapter 1

I watched her.

I watched her because I could do nothing else. From the time the happy couple announced their engagement, to tonight’s wedding, I watched her. I had to make sure that everything turned out perfectly. That no one, and I mean no one, ruined Emma’s special day. Emma deserved that much and so much more.

And so I watched and waited for something to happen. I waited for her feelings to change, for her to accept the changes happening in her life—in everyone’s lives—and for her to realize nothing would change Bryan’s feelings.

Rayne needed to come to grips and realize Emma and Bryan belonged together. All of the hate and anger Rayne directed at Emma for stealing her big brother, changed nothing. They loved each other, and tonight they solidified it with vows.

More than anyone else I knew, Emma deserved this. She had fought through so much hurt and strife after developing myasthenia gravis—a neuromuscular condition that made her weak—and she finally found her prince. She finally had her happy ending.

And I watched her too, because I couldn’t turn my eyes away from her. Emma was unique. Bryan had thrust her into my life, only to steal her away from me. I lost her, and while it hurt and I wanted to grab her and carry her away from him, even I couldn’t do that to her. If I needed any proof of how deeply her feelings ran for my friend, her face and eyes spoke volumes as she walked down the aisle toward her groom earlier today.

French horns signaled the beginning of the wedding march, and shifted and spun around to gaze down the makeshift aisle created in the sand with the white wooden folding chairs. The rows were not neat or straight, the sand prevented them from being perfect, and add to that the fact people had been sitting and now stood, had adjusted the chairs to be a bit haphazard. But no one cared. Least of all the bride and groom. They only had eyes for each other.

Her father had one arm wrapped around her waist and the other held hers in order to steady her. She had refused to use her walker or cane to walk down the aisle to her future husband. And honestly, I couldn’t blame her. She slowly took one step at a time down the path that led to Bryan Sampson, fumbling only once, but luckily, her father caught her before she faltered too much. The sand was too much for her to navigate, but it had always been her dream to have a beach wedding—a carryover fantasy from before she got sick—and Bryan decided she should have everything her heart desired; wedding and all.

Gazing into each other’s eyes as she made the slow journey that would herald their new life together, love shone brightly in her brown eyes. Bryan was her world. I tore my eyes away from her briefly, turning to look at the groom from my perch beside him as one of his groomsmen, and his own expression reflected the same emotions: love, happiness, peace. These two belonged together.

Bryan was dressed in a pressed black tuxedo, while a lace gown that went only to her ankles adorned her body. No train or tail or whatever the hell they called it. It was perfect for her. Strapless, it accentuated her boobs and ass—two of her assets I loved to ogle, even if Bryan hated me doing it.

She never realized how much I cared about her.

Today wasn’t about me though. Today, I watched as my two friends promised each other forever. I watched as Rayne seethed, shooting daggers at the bride. And I watched as two people who deserved all of the happiness life had to offer, lost themselves to each other and forgot about everyone else. They belonged together.

They did.

And I would be damned if Rayne did anything else to make them or anyone else miserable.

I couldn’t understand why the raven haired beauty spewed hatred at Emma, as if it came as second nature to her. It seeped from her pores. Why? What had Emma ever done to her? Nothing.

My focus followed Rayne to ensure she didn’t do anything to ruin today. She was on the move. I tried to follow her while the small crowd of guests made their way to the dance floor, however, before I could take one step, a little old lady halted me. Recognition flared. I had seen her the night before at the rehearsal and then again at the dinner following, but other than that, her identity eluded me.

“Young man, this is a wedding, not a funeral.”

“P-Pardon me?” I stammered flabbergasted. Who the hell was this woman?

“Oh my. Where are you from?”

It was the same reaction I had from several people. While I had lived in the States since my childhood, a slight British accent lingered. “U.S. by way of London. Could you repeat what you said?”

Patting my arm, she said, “You look like you are either going to commit murder, hide a body, or your best friend just died.”

“What?” I blinked, trying to wrap my head around what this little old woman said. “Who are you?” Clenching my fists, I hoped and prayed for patience while I at the same time demanded answers from her. It wasn’t her fault. The poor woman probably felt confused or maybe had one too many to drink, but I couldn’t help my annoyance. I should be keeping an eye on Rayne, and this woman, prevented it with idle chit chat.

“That’s my name. I’m Grace. I met Bryan when he flew in to see Emma one day. We had the pleasure of sitting next to each other on the plane. When he told me his story, I simply knew they would get married. So I put him on my bucket list and told him I would be here for the wedding. Imagine my delight when he actually remembered me and sent me an invitation. Do you know that I made my flight arrangements right after I opened the envelope? It’s true. They are such a lovely couple. My husband, Bert, would have thought so too. He might have been a gruff Navy man, but he was a closet romantic. I think you might be too.”

“And why would you think that?”

“I can tell. There is just something about you,” she answered me with a grin and a wink.

Shaking my head, I tried to clear it in order to process her side of this odd conversation, however, I could not stop myself from looking at this weird woman as if she had two heads. “Grace?” I stopped after that question. My head spun, and I was only able to really grasp one fact and hold onto it with both hands: her name.

“Are you slow dear? Did you drink too much?” She patted my arm again, gazing up at me with what I could only describe as sympathy.

Slow? What the fuck was this woman saying? “Look…” What did she say her name was again? Apparently, I had let go of that factoid as soon as she asked about my mental capabilities.

“Right. Grace. Look, Grace, I appreciate your concern—”

“I’m not concerned.”

“You’re not.”

Only the manners that had been engrained into me as a child prevented me from rolling my eyes at this old braud, and the temptation to run my hand over my face in frustration had me once again clenching my fists at my sides. “You’re not concerned,” I repeated. Crap! I really did sound slow.

“No, I can tell your feelings run deep and your heart is in the right place.” Her voice became almost melodic as she giggled.

Had she noticed how much I wanted to put Rayne in her place? Or had she noticed how my eyes would periodically drift over to the bride in those moments my brain lost the battle to my heart? “They are,” was the only thing I could say because regardless of which one she was referencing, they were both true. As much as I wanted to wring Rayne’s neck, I still cared about Emma. Everything I did was to make sure she never had to stress about Rayne and her particular brand of hate ever again.

“Don’t worry. She has a lot to learn, but when Rayne finally figures it out, a new world will open for her, and you’ll be right there.”

“Maybe to kick her ass…uh pardon me.” My face started to burn scarlet all because I cussed in front of an old woman.

Waving her hand in the air, she said, “No apologies needed. Maybe she does need a kick in the ass. I heard what she’s been doing, but she doesn’t understand. Be gentle.” With that, she walked off, disappearing onto the crowded dance floor in the ballroom Bryan and Emma had rented for their reception.

It surprised me to hear that Grace knew what Rayne had been doing to Emma. Hate overflowed from Bryan’s sister. She’d called Emma broken, unworthy, ugly, liar, and a host of other names. Rayne did not like Emma because Emma was sick and usually used some sort of device to get her from point A to point B. No other reason. I knew there were people like that in the world. I mean hell, my sister Megan had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and I had seen how people looked at her when she used a cane, but that didn’t make it right. Why did people act like they were lepers when they couldn’t control what happened to their bodies?

No, Rayne was a first rate bitch and needed to be taught a lesson.

❤✨ From the Author ✨ ❤

Life is about what you make of it. You have to live it to the fullest no matter the circumstances.

I have always loved books. Not only creating the stories, but reading them as well. Books transport me, and when I was younger, I would run into walls because I refused to put my books down even for a second. Take note, walking with books is not advised. LOL.

With my books, I just want to share my stories with the world. I want others to be transported or to feel the emotions my characters feel. That is my goal with my writing. If I can do that for one person, I succeeded.

Getting sick changed me and my life, but it also opened doors that I thought were closed. Today, even though i cannot do much, I still have my mind and I can write.

IMG_5273I met Bianca in an elevator.

She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.

The beautiful, raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.

She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”—her afternoon appointment.

Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type—snobby, over educated, silver- spooned men who didn’t appreciate the simple things in life.

So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t—a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn’t want it to end.

I began dating her as “Jay”—all the while letting her interview the real me over email.

I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.

I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.

I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.

And she was falling for two men.

Only, both men were me.

And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.

Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn’t prepared for what came after.

All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Where Promises Die by RC Stephens Review Tour

Title: Where Promises Die
Author: R.C. Stephens
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 20, 2017

Haunted by a childhood trauma that leaves her orphaned, eleven-year-old Grace finds herself on the doorstep of the Duncans, her new adoptive family, broken and unable to speak. Catapulted from a bustling New York City life, she must find a way to call the rural town of Sade, Iowa her new home. Twins Eisav and Jacob Duncan immediately take a liking to Grace, wanting to erase the dark shadows etched on her perfect features.
As the twins vie for her affection, it becomes clear which one makes her smile.

Grace never has a choice for falling in love.

What starts as a way to coax his adopted sister to speak and smile, blossoms into the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

In this small town it shouldn’t be a crime to fall in love . . .

Isaac Duncan warns his son to stay away from the forbidden fruit. Eisav never listens.

Now an intricate web of lies and secrets stand in the way of Eisav winning back the only woman he has ever loved.

In a place where yesterday’s promises were broken, Eisav must learn what it truly means to love and cherish . . .

But is he too late?

Where Promises Die was a exquisitely, tragic and beautiful read.  It was filled with drama, crazy plot twists and added religious tone that was crazy. There was never a dull moment in this book, with each page, character and the way the story line was going, I never knew what to expect.  I’ve has the pleasure of reading a book by this author before and I happen to love how she handles harsh topics and how she makes you feel like you are there.

Eisav was taken by Grace from  the moment the quiet girl was brought to live with his family.  The Duncan children fell in love with this shy girl but the connection and pull between Grace and Eisav was rare and unique.  Eisav and the Duncan’s were an extremely religious family, over the top religious. Eisav we was the black sheep of the family and his father ‘s scape goat.  He was a very persistent character, determined and creative.  The push and pull between him and his father over the years would eventually make him break his promise to his one true love Grace.

The book is divided into 2 parts and in between we get to see not only Eisav and Grace grow but also the family.  Grace is a very innocent character and has had it harsh, but Eisav was the bright light in her life.  She believed in their love and trusted his promise to her.  Little did she know how both their lives would change when he makes a decision that will cost them both greatly in the end.

Gosh this book was highly F’d up, the author took this story in a direction I did not expect.  It’s clear the author researched extreme religious beliefs because this family was so blind to what was really going on because of how gullible they were.  When Eisav returns to right so many wrongs, he comes back to a town and family ridden with shocks and surprises and back to a very different Grace.

Eisav was a different spin on the bad boy persona and I loved it. You have to read it to see what I am talking get about .  The added layers of the Duncan kids as well brought so much more depth to this book.  There are so many hidden secrets behind the Duncan walls and over the years we get to see how much their lives have changed.  I can go on and on  about how great this book is but I think it’s best if you click and find out for yourself. Highly recommend!
