Faking It with Damian
Publication date: January 23rd 2017

I don’t do relationships… especially not with egotistical jerks like my new boss, Damian Wood. The man is vile, arrogant, condescending… and scorching hot. If he weren’t my boss and a grade-A a*&hole, I would turn on my world-famous charm and seduce the pants right off the man. But giving in to his undeniable allure might just cost me my job. Or worse yet, my heart.
I’m a prick…and Janice Holder’s new boss. Which means I should stay away, but I’ve never claimed to be a nice guy. If I don’t get my twisted fascination under control, it will only be a matter of time before I bend her over my desk and screw her. Hard. The way I’ve imagined no fewer than a thousand times since we met. I’m playing with fire and neither of us can afford to get burned, but landing in hot water might just be worth the risk.
Faking It is a full-length, standalone office romance. It contains steamy scenes with a ton of heat and strong language intended for mature audiences.
This is the story of Janice who is a part time ZUMBA instructor. Being a ZUMBA Instructor myself I loved that about the story. I really enjoyed all the parts in the book that took place during Janice’s ZUMBA classes. I could totally relate to it. Janice didn’t’ do relationships. Her father left her when she was young and with her mothers illness she was afraid of commitment. She didn’t want to be hurt. Damian was just hot. He knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to go for it. I loved the chemistry between the two and the dialogue between them was great especially the inner thoughts of Janice. Even though Damian went through a traumatic experience during his life it didn’t’ deter him.
“Don’t confuse my willingness to try as certainty. I have no idea what’s going to happen between us. But, unlike you, I’m not going to let the horrors of my past dictate the decisions I make abut my future.”
Even though I loved the inner thoughts of Janice I just couldn’t connect with her on a deeper level. I understood that she had a rough childhood but I felt like she needed to get over it and move on.
The story moved at a good pace and written really well. All though I was waiting for some huge dramatic plot twist the story kept me intrigued and even though I wasn’t a big Janice fan I liked the connection that she had with Damian and her best friend. I would certainly read another book by this author.
