I find the love letters in my new dorm room, left behind by a previous occupant. They’re meant for someone else, but the words speak to me. They slide off the page and wrap themselves around my body, touching me in places I never knew existed.I’m falling in love with each word, unable to stop myself.
And I don’t even know his name.
Until they tell me.
His name is Judson Devereux. They say he’s toxic. Falling for him will be a mistake.
I want to believe them. I want to walk away. But the words refuse to be erased from the invisible parts of me.
I’m hooked on the scent of his poison. It’s bad for me. It could kill me. But I’m in too deep.

Oh my word!!! What did I just read and how in the world did I miss this author??? I’m not sure how I can explain how I feel about what I’m feeling because this book took me totally by surprise and in a good way. I loved how the author was able to leave me speechless and that is totally out of the norm from the first page to the very last.
This book is steamy, passionate and intense and that is without all the added sex scenes. The authors use of words and letters just made it so much more. The plot to this story was over the top crazy, so exhilarating and gripping. Midnight Scent is filled with drama, thrills, chills, suspense and just the right amount of darkness that kept me on my toes.
This story follows a young college student. Ivy is finally living on her own without the constant nagging of her mother. She’s an ex model who just wants to be more than a pretty face. She and her best friend stumble across some mysterious, hot and steamy letters. Of course after reading one Ivy has to keep going. Going as far as reaching out to Judson (the man who wrote these letters). Ivy is thrown into a world of passion, obsession and deceit. There are two men in this book and each bring forth an air of mystery and intrigue to this story. I’m not sure how the author confused me but she did and even when we dug further into the mystery of the letters and learn more about Judson, I was still clueless. I still don’t know what happened and I did not expect what I got. All I know is I was seriously mind fucked! This was a great read and worth the roller coaster ride that I was taken on. You definitely need to pick this up, you won’t be sorry.
Dori Lavelle, is a mother, wife, and a sucker for happy-ever-afters and mint chocolate.Growing up, Dori read a lot, and when she wasn’t happy with a particular ending, she wrote a different one, just for herself. Before long, she was writing stories when she should have been doing homework. The time has come for her to share the stories she cooks up in her head.
