Series: Night Rebels MC #1
Author: Chiah Wilder
Genre: MC Romance
Release: February 23, 2017
A fierce and feared warrior. His name is Steel, and he’s President of the Night Rebels MC. Part Navajo, part Irish, Steel is a respected leader of his brotherhood. With his tatted muscular body, ebony hair, and green eyes, he is a magnet to women. Never turning away a sexy body, he indulges in casual sex, but nothing more.
For him, defending his brotherhood and protecting his teenage daughter are foremost. Falling in love and being in a long term relationship don’t even make it on his list. He gave his heart to a woman when he was young and weak, but now he’s strong and has no room in his heart for love.
Then he meets his daughter’s social worker. His attraction to her is intense. Desire flares through him, and he’s drawn to her in a way that angers him. He doesn’t have time for a woman, but he can’t get the feisty, spirited caseworker out of his mind.
He wants to run his callused fingers through her hair.
He wants to crush his mouth to hers
He wants to devour her.
But she resists him. No woman has ever resisted him.
When he looks into her eyes, he sees the depths of sorrow and a spark of passion. She’s touched him. He’s never wanted a woman as much as he wants her.
And he always gets what he wants…no matter what.
From the moment Breanna Quine laid eyes on the rugged biker, her body betrayed her. And when she spotted the outlaw’s MC patch on his leather jacket, her blood turned to ice.
Hating bikers since her father gave up his family for the brotherhood, Breanna swore to never be around them again. Then the captivating Night Rebels President’s blazing, green-eyed gaze catches hers, and she is drawn to him like a moth is to fire.
But she can’t let herself fall for him, no matter how much her body buzzes whenever she is near him. As hard as she tries to fight her attraction to the dark, dangerous man, her resistance is weakening. Then when she sees his tenderness toward his daughter, it melts her heart. She has to keep reminding herself that he’s not only a biker, but he’s the worst kind—an outlaw.
Steel has his hands full trying to figure out who is supplying drugs to the teens of Alina, Colorado. Time is running out for him as danger comes knocking at his door threatening to destroy his family and the woman whom he has vowed to make his own.
Can two independent people put their past behind them in order to come together? Will they fight for love against the shadows and the danger that lurks all around them, threatening to destroy them forever?
I’ve read the Insurgents MC by this author and was so excited to learn she’d be introducing a new MC series, The Night Rebels. I’ve grown to appreciate this authors writing style because she isn’t afraid to go outside of the box and take on gritty and hard story lines. Steele’s book touches on the issue of drug abuse in Native American life and bullying. These subject matters were handled exceptionally well in this story. I couldn’t put this story down and literally went from page 1 to “the end” in one sitting.
Steel is a mix of Navajo Indian/ Irish. He’s the president of the Night Rebels MC and he’s proud of his title and his heritage. He’s not into relationships but he’s very protective of his mother, MC and his people. We see how hard it is for the Navajo people as well as the negative and cruel role “social services” plays. Steel does not trust in the system. The very system that tells him he is not capable of providing and protecting his daughter Chenoa, a drug addict. Breanna is the social worker assigned to his daughter and family’s case. She’s a tough cookie, one that doesn’t believe that caring for the Navajo people is only a job. She gives 100% of herself to Chenoa and Steel’s family.
When Breanna and Steel meet not only are things violate it’s smoking hot. I loved how the author handles their relationship both are hesitant and rightfully so. I enjoyed reading how Steel fights his feelings not only for the system but also for Breanna. He saw she was different than the others before but he had a hard time letting go. Breanna didn’t let his negativity and cruel remarks deter her, she loved what she did. Breanna and Steel form a bond and relationship so beautiful and strong that nothing could tear them down.
We get to see how harsh a life style with drugs truly is and I’m so glad the author didn’t sugar coat it. It was ugly, painful and it broke my heart but this story was necessary. I really appreciate how the bullying issue within the story was handled. We live in a world that makes fun or dishes out cruelty because someone is different. The author takes us inside the world of bullying and shows readers how cruel and hurtful words and actions can be. I’ve never witnessed first hand how hard life is for Native Americans but in this book I felt like I got a glimpse. The authors words and descriptions took me inside the life and homes on a reservation and I felt their struggle. I love when an author can make me not only fall in love but also give me a reality check and have me reflecting on my own life. This is what I look for in a 5 Star book, a book that can make me feel all kinds of emotions. Steel was a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Chiah Wilder is the author of Hawk’s Property, the first book in the Insurgents MC Series. It is a full length, standalone novel. Its release date is set for October 27, 2015.
Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.
Her love of reading has always be center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her Insurgents series. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, biker romances with rough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.
Returning to writing has been a dream come true. Writing and publishing Hawk’s Property has been an amazing journey, and she is happy to share the Insurgents family with her readers. She is busy writing her next book in the series.
