I am always looking for “new to me” authors and after reading the blurb for this one, I was hooked and knew I had to read it.
Molly to the outside world is known as just a column writer for the Metropolitan. What most don’t realize and only a select few close to her know is that she is really the writer erotica romance writer also known Vivienne Foxx. Molly is a serial dater and always tends to find a muse when writing a new book but has now found herself in a writing block. That is until she becomes friend with her father’s doctor and the words seem to begin to flow with no issue. But this new story is not like her others, there is more to the characters as well as the emotion and connection they share. It’s also interesting to see how many similarities the story of her new characters have with what is happening with her and her new doctor friend. But here’s the real issue, Molly may be a romance writer but she doesn’t believe in true love.
This story is completely told from Molly’s POV and although I prefer dual POV, I have to say the author did a really fabulous job of writing this one sided story and not making it feel like part of it was missing. I absolutely fell in love with Molly from the moment we met her. She’s strong and independent , she’s sassy and so many times she had me absolutely cracking up. She definitely wasn’t your typical female lead character and I have to say, it truly was a breath of fresh air to have her character be this way.
What can I say about Noah to truly do him justice? First he’s a hot sexy doctor, and he’s very alpha in the bedroom but I must say, he is so sweet and tender, and caring when it comes to his patients but also Molly. Noah truly is the perfect mix of alpha and sweetheart.
I really enjoyed the dynamic the author built up between these two characters. It was a slow burn, which I love but it didn’t drag out. The author did tease us at times, thinking the we finally hit that point but then changed it up and I really enjoyed that. Although this one really had a fun and flirty side to it, it also has a very deep emotional side to the story that made part of the storyline a bit more serious than I was expecting but I loved that this one was a great mix of both.
Overall this one was a really fabulous read that I absolutely loved. This one was so well written, the fun and flirty had me laughing and the more serious side had me in tears. It had great lead characters that shared a great connection I felt immediately and only got stronger. It had a great cast of characters included, I loved her family and I must say, for most of the book I was hoping so bad we would get her brother Drew’s story which I was so excited to have that confirmed at the end and now find myself anxiously awaiting for 2018 for it to be released. This was my first TK Leigh book but there is no way it will be my last.
